Is Shadowlands Worth Playing? My Experience So Far!

I dunno man... The beginning of an expansion can be legendary or terrible, in the end it's the final loop after the first month that's telling... To be frank as long as they don't make crafting jobs relevant again there will be a huge part of what makes a MMORPG gone from Retail. Probably why I liked Classic in the first place, there is a real economy, a reason to farm rare materials (even as a guild), to make your business and sell your skills and all this favored player interactions (plus no token bullsh*t to screw all that over). Even if my favourite content is still 5m and raids, it didn't feel like I had nothing left to do when I was done with my weekly caps... The only thing I'm sure about ShL so far is that the artistic team knows its sh*t and has done a fantastic job as usual ~

I'm loving the dungeons here and if you want 5m content then retail is honestly the only choice especially with mythic+ content

@@Holderhek That's what WoW has consistantly been good at over the years :p Also after some investigations it seems that they've actually done something with professions. If the game isn't dead when first sales come I'll probably give it a try.

Yesterday the whole zone in Maldraxxus (spelled right?) Worked together to summon a rare spawn in that slime pit. Things like that are what an mmo is about. People actually talking to each other. Something retail had lost over the years and it's great seeing stuff like that again.

I have always had my very serious problems with post cata WoW and especially with the last 2 expantions ..BUT yea I completely agree shadowlands turned to be a blast while leveling and doing some dungeon/PVP content. It feels fun for some reason and find my self wanting to log in to explore some more ...yea the weird table mission/covenant passives etc. are still there and kinda annoying but the game does not force you to do them .. I didnt believed it at first as I logged in for a classicTBC resting place but it turned out to be good and actually fun. Give the expantion a chance my fellow classic chads I think you will find it to be worthy of your time ( besides nothing good comes from constant critisism of retail without acknowledging when it does something well)

How casual friendly does the xpac seem? I just want to come on and do some bg’s, can’t be bothered raiding. Can I still get some gear and be reasonable competitive (assuming equal skill) without raiding and arenas? I haven’t played retail since WOLK but this has me intrigued

you can use a 2h but you can't use specials with it so essentially yes. i'd love for them to bring back 2h enhance tho.

I already feel like I have seen all this expansion has to offer with in the first month.the entire expansion is time gated If it wasn't for the enhancement changes I would have unsbbed by now. I struggle to log in.

I wish I was as excited as you man. I've been playing it a little bit. From what I can see its the same as the last 2 expansions. Pretty paint job with little to no substance. Classes are still watered down, abilities and spells while looking great dont seem as impact full, and I do not like the speed of the game. Without all the GCD s I feel like a crack head smashing keys. I mean I will level a couple of toons most likely and pvp but beyond that I can't see me getting involved a fraction as much as I am with classic or tbc when it comes out. Also I played shaman since vanilla and quit playing one durning cataclysm. Classic and tbc was the area of the enhance and I just lost interest after the 2 hander was taken away. Anywas love your content will still watch your stuff and who knows maybe ill drink the coolaid and get hyped for Chadowlands. Keep it real boss man

It's so damn fun? That really all ya got? I'm sorry man, but I played some BFA until Classic was out. Then I played the SL beta, and was still disgusted. Retail is fun until you realize it's still trash, and why you like Classic as a game more. You're a silly guy for posting up a video while you are just getting the vibe of a new expansion... especially if you're gonna call yourself a "Classic Andy." You are just putting out a propaganda piece for Activizzard without knowing it. From what I saw in SL beta... it's still missing that MMORPG magic that Classic has. It's why I can still lose weeks on Classic like they were days. I refunded my SL preorder because of it. The fact that I'm searching up this video is illogical hype, and I'm letting the hype and missing-out feeling get to me. I don't want to give them money for those reasons. They lost my trust and faith, which was a big deal because I feel like I let them walk on me for too long as a loyal customer. I'd really be interested in seeing you actually explain why you're "just having FUN" in comparison to how you could be playing Classic. Sure, you are allowed to switch it up, but to me watching this you aren't saying much. It just seems like you're hyped. New thing YAY. Then in 2 weeks you realize, "oh...it's still retail..."

Well currently all I do in classic is raid log and farm because half the server quit at naxx. I do appreciate how much guilds are needed for the functionality of classic wow and I do appreciate the classic wow is a MMORPG and that retail wow is an action RPG with multiplayer elements. I'm actually okay with that. World of Warcraft killed the MMORPG. That genre does not exist anymore outside of wow classic/tbc classic/wotlk classic. Retail is still very much fun, I'm sorry if you need a detailed explanation of what fun is.

I still can play Classic like it just came out - I am not right now because it was becoming a problem lol - but I still can't stomach retail. I know you sarcastically answered my inquiry to what fun means to you right now, but as I said... I had "fun" on retail for a few days, got disgusted with it, and then got the SL beta. The beta should have been exciting to me, but it felt like more of the same. I went back to Classic, happily. You don't want to comment as to whether or not you may just be hyped up? Do you think it's going to last? I'm not trying to be a dick by asking that. I envy you.
