As an ex Ratite Rancher with wild hatched ratites I highly recommend feed training grapes to your ratites as a treat. You can use the grapes to put medication inside if needed. My ratites loved green grapes. They would run after the rolling grapes like the Roadrunner. I was hysterically funny😂😅😂

It’s good seeing that Goldie isn’t terrified of the dogs. She must know they aren’t threatening predators. She’s been through a tragic experience. PTL she’s comfort. I know she was loved and well cared for before but, like humans, she needed to move on to recover.

The care and calm that you guys show to Goldie and all the animals makes them feel safe. There is no doubt that Ms. Goldie will become more adjusted each day. One thing for sure, they have plenty of room to explore. Ms. Goldie may not have received the kind of attention that Nugget has had.

The compost bins are a great idea! If you put wood gates on the backside of them, you can scoop it right into the tracker bucket. Yeah! Such a great idea! I'm glad to hear Goldie is adjusting so well. She's going to fall right in with the rest of the Cog Hill Gang.❤

I noticed that Goldie was following Brooke when Brooke wasn't looking at her - try sitting with Nugget and not watching her to see if she will come - there is a guy who visits animal shelters and when he goes into a cage with a dog he always sits with his back to the dog at first and it always works!

Composting manure near animals will create more flies for the cattle. Unless the manure is covered up, according to Pete from Just a Few Acres. You might want to rethink the compost location again.

Placing your compost bin so close to the animals will cause a larger fly load on them, especially your bovines. As a matter of fact, covering your manure compost with a silage tarp will keep the fly population down on the entire farm... Love your show!
