Your reaction was really one of the best and the most insightful! Kudo to you! You won a new subscriber! This is my favorite of hers, just before From the Love of God. Jason Becker sent his followers a tweet ( or had someone to tweet it on his behalf) the day after this was posted and said “16 year old Tina S does a great cover of my song Altitudes”. And he texted her directly “Wonderful playing, Tina! Thank you so much! I am honored!”. This guy is an absolute legend and he wrote this and released it when he was 16 himself. Fyi Renaud Louis-Servais, the guitar teacher of Tina, who recorded this and all other Tina videos in his private studio, said that she was able to learn these masterpieces very quickly. It took her apparently only 8 weeks to learn the Moonlight Sonata while attending high school at the same time. Renaud is a french guitar hero himself and is a very famous teacher, for instance he was also the teacher of Daniela Villareal from The Warning.

My favorite of Tina's youtube clips. It's such a gorgeous piece of music, and she does more than cover it, she infuses it with such emotion. Thanks for featuring Tina again. We can only hope she re-emerges one day, she is a priceless talent.

Finally someone who doesn't just "react" to a video, but adds pertinent, insightful analysis, music theory, as well as some fascinating facts and trivia! And all in a fun and upbeat style, also. Well done, sir and keep up the great reactions. There is a LOT of incredible music by underappreciated and unsung artists and "amateurs" on YT that need to be shared more widely with a greater audience.

Jason was Tina's age in that video when he composed it. That's the crazy part. And that's not even his craziest teenage shred composition, that honor belongs to 'Mabel's Fatal Fable' which is about a superhero named Mabel, it's practically inimitable, there isn't a complete cover available that does it justice but closest partial cover one that captures the essence is this one kzbin.info/www/bejne/rX7SpIhvdtZ4esk

This is also #2 of my favorites with For the Love of God being #1. They both require feel and emotion plus speed and technical precision to get correct. This song in particular can sound like a train wreck if you're missing the feel and emotion and Tina nails it. If I remember correctly, Jason Becker sent Tina a tweet congratulating her when this first came out. Thanks for continuing to introduce Tina to new listeners.

I haven't seen better. To me Tina has a very rare quality, she is a master musician. That's not something you can attain, it's something you're born with. I would say the same of Jimi Hendrix, Amy Winehouse, George Ezra, Jessye Norman and Jennifer Pike

At the time of this recording, Tina quite possibly had somewhere in the neighborhood of 20,000 hours of practice under her belt. It is a guess but 6-8 hours a day is probably what it takes to be that good. So I ask you, for someone to invest that much time into something, is it possible or even conceivable that they could just walk away from it all? I am 64. I would love to see her play just once before I die. Love your passion. Keep it up!
