Great interview I'm a history buff so I find Pat's video's very interesting . He's soo professional they look like documentaries. Im surprised he isnt a trained journalist. FYI one of my favorite concert experiences was seeing Soul 2 Soul @ the Palladium in NYC 1990 massive club back then.We have something else in common. Good stuff 👍🏽

Pat has one of the best channels out of Thailand about Bangkok and its history. Always wanted to see him interviewed. I was always curious what Asian nationality he was I would have never guessed Thai. I worked as a public radio DJ and Operations Director for many years in the states. I think foreigners who have any sort of accent speaking Thai might have a more difficult time being understood. Whenever I have a cold or having to wear a mask can be misunderstood. Having just returned after nearly two years I have noticed I have forgotten some words but still can understand ok. Very nice getting to know Pat's background really a cool guy. I could not agree with you more about what I call the foreigner slums and many of the expats who live in them. Personally, I avoid these places. Pattaya, Phuket, Koh Samui, Chaing Mai, Udon Thani etc.

USE OF TRIPOD : Yes, in many countries, the use of a tripod can get you in trouble. For example, if you use one in Moscow on Red Square, you need a permit as it's deemed commercial photography. You will be approached by the police, and if you don't have a licence, you will be heavily fined.
@BangkokPat2 жыл бұрын
The SRT Red Line are the only line that allow you to set up any place you like, as long as you're behind the yellow line on the platform. And Bang Sue Grand Station, great for train shots.

I watched a couple of these videos, having come accross them rather accidentally, I have travelled a lot, and lived in Australia for a lengthy period. I have not visited Thailand since 1968/9, as a change from Singapore, where my Mother lived while my Father was on a Tanker taking high octane fuel (aka Avgas), to Saigon. Meanwhile I was at boarding School in Kent. (I think during my upper Sixth year). My younger brother died in Thailand about four years ago. He’d been living there for a number of years and married to a Thai The whole issue is rather mysterious. I thought I might learn something about Thailand - and they have helped. However they all seem to be about middle-aged and older men I can’t say that any of what I have seen and heard. has not tempted me to leave my pleasant rural village though. I am very committed to my own community and the inland waterways here to travell a long distance, when I feel that I have seen enough of the Far East already. How on earth do those boats get away with travelling as fast or almost, as a bus would. How long are those narrow canals going to cope with it? Anyway, I hope travelled about 2,500 miles of inland waterways in England - but certainly not anywhere near that speed -even on the rivers Trent, Soar or th7 Thames!

Regarding content. Been going to Thailand for many years and watch all the Thai YT videos. I’ve met many interesting Thais and heard some great stories. None of the present YTubers talk or interview Thais. It’s always one expat talking to another expat. For future content, talk to locals.

hi peter to pick up on a point raised in the video , i follow several thai vloggers and have written to all of them , none seem to want to cover renting property or living in areas where there are no farangs , they all seem to cover the farang ghettos , i can understand blokes wantng to live with other uk nationals etc but what about antisocial loners like me , i dont want to be lumped in with every one else , and would seek out houses flats etc in areas with no farangs , its no hardship living like this ive done it before , ok you get stared at a bit more but thats it , it would make an interesting niche video , some thing no one was expecting , all the best from harborough
@BangkokPat2 жыл бұрын
I don't think that Rangsit, Makkasan, Don Muang, Lat Phrao, Chatuchak or Kan Kheha (plus many more areas I've covered)are farang ghettos so please don't lump me in with those that only cover farang ghettos. I could include 3 local apartments where rent is reasonable in any obscure areas I'm doing but it doesn't get views. maybe a few hundred over a few months. Why not start a channel and do it yourself?

It's great to see a variety of youtubers.. Pat is great I enjoy his channel.. I think all KZbinrs do different things and that's what attracts their audience.. You have the guys who like just girls and bars and thats what they like to see.. guys whom enjoy seeing food and rental videos and walk through condos.. the younger generation whom enjoy the younger followers.. The UK followers who enjoy their KZbinrs from The UK as with the Australian... the variety is good.. a lot more girls doing it too as it is easier for them to get the followers.. some are a notch above the rest in the way they present the video. Pete you are my favourite from The UK as you cover many different things.. not just the same same soi street and bars and area and I'm sure that when you do do more videos from Thailand you will continue with this and not stick to the one same walkabout down the same soi... variety is the spice of life and Thailand sure does have the variety so keep on covering and showing
