The Big Push are awesome. Ren, Romain Axisa (electric guitar here), Gorran Kendall (bass here), Glenn Chambers (drums). They all sing, all play multiple instruments, all write, and shuffle who is lead according to the song. No egos, just solo buskers who made friends on the streets and formed a band. Love them playing together. They had to go on hiatus when Ren went to Canada and Gorran and Glenn went travelling. They have covers and original songs for you to explore asx well as their solo stuff! You won't be disappointed!

How they met: Ren had broken up with his GF and was looking for a roommate, so he found Romain Axisa (solo guitar) on FB, who was in the same GF/roommate situation, and so they rented a place together. Then Gorran Kendall (bass) joined them as the third roomie, and they started playing together. Ren played drums at first, but was not satisfied with it, so they found Glenn Chambers (who was actually a bassist lol), and he joined as a drummer. And the rest is history...

Wow, so glad you discovered The Big Push, Ren started very early with his solo stuff, but he started out busking in a band his first band is Trick The Fox also on KZbin (baby Ren) He was growing as an artist in Trick The Fox …not the artist he is today, but you can tell from an early age he had raw talent .it is nice to check Ren in Trick The Fox to see how much he has grown ... The Big Push all members are very talented together or solo They take turns on the lead, and they swap instruments to. They started with covers since they were busking, on the streets, but they do have original songs too ,,. Ren said there is talk of a reunion one day, Ren , Romain and Gorran all three said they would love to play again together but the timing needs to be worked out … Due to Ren's treatment and each in different countries now. They might not reunite on full-time bases but occasional song or live online gig /concert would be heaven The other two their solo stuff is amazing like Ren's they are on KZbin ... Gorran's solo is like modern day Cat Stevens, James Taylor. Bob Dylan type, Romain is awesome to not sure how to describe his music he is like Ren not afraid to try different stuff ... he has a beautiful hauntly angelic sound with awesome guitar playing I love his just instrumental songs with the guitar and Romain singing in French is beautiful to Enjoy !🤎💙.. Bev 💕

I didn't realize u hadn't done anything by The Big Push! 😳 U are in for a huge treat! They very quickly became my new favorite band! U should definitely dive down the rabbithole even if it's not requested by anyone! The band consists of Ren, Romain (Lead electric guitar), Gorran (Bass), and Glenn (Drums)....If u want to see Ren rock the shit out of the bass, check out their mash up of Wade in the water/Nina Simone/Trouble so hard or What kind of woman is this! Im so excited to go on this journey with u!! 🫶

This was done after Lock Downs were lifted but entertainment venues were still closed, the Big Push took it back to the streets they were familiar with. Brighton is the closest city to where I live, my son went there shopping that day and was treated to this free street concert. Greetings from the UK

Band played together from 2017 to Sept..2022. But Ren started busking at 17. That was always the best way to make money due to his illness. He could juggle the days and hours. You've opened a Pandora's box now! Romain Axisa and Gorran Kendall both have You Tube pages and are releasing songs. Gorran is currently in Spain busking as well. They did a tour of the UK,sold out, but interrupted with the pandemic lockdiwns. Since they were living together, they did have 3 or 4 Live Nation streams during Covid that are just wonderful and have written several songs together. I particularly like What Kind of Woman Is This A blend of 3 songs you will remember I think.

The Big Push is a band ren is part of that consists of Him, Romain, Gorran and Glenn. They're all individual artists and best friends and the band is basically just a side project where they can meet up, hang out and just jam together. Would highly recommend giving their cover of Englishman In New York a watch. It's got such a warm and cosy vibe about it😊

I don't think this was side project, but their main focus for 5 years. Ren was pursuing his solo career also, but was gutted when the band broke up.

In one of his interviews, (with The Charismatic Voice if I recall) Ren describes spending hours and hours cleaning up the audio for some of The Big Push videos, right down to individual instruments and drum hits. Ren is an ADHD perfectionist. That is why the audio is clear. Most of it was recorded on iphone and then cleaned up.

THE BIG PUSH! 🥁🎸🎤🎵 REN (Welsh) - vocals, acoustic, electric, bass mostly Romain Axisa (French) - vocals, acoustic, electric, bass mostly Gorran Kendall (English) - vocals, acoustic, electtic, bass mostly Glenn Chambers (Irish) - drums mostly The Big Push formed in 2017. Initially being Ren, Romain and Gorran with Glenn joining later to play drums. Gorran and Romain met busking, Romain and Ren then met through Facebook while Ren was trying to find a flat mate. They would all busk together and Glenn would sit in as drummer while also playing bass with another friend Rafa. They then decided to become a band and would take to the streets of Brighton and also created masterpieces of their own. They played numerous gigs including a sold out tour of the U.K. and also released a 6 track EP called “Can Do Will Do”. They busked together for the last time on 14th December 2022 and played their final gig at the Brighton Dome a short while later. Having to go on hiatus due in part to Ren moving to Canada for medical treatment and their lives going in different directions. Although they remain good friends and Ren and Romain have mentioned wanting to play together again. @Codex777710 ай бұрын
Ren's been creating and recording music since he was about 10. In the time since, he's been in a couple of bands. "Trick The Fox" for a short period in his late teens. Just before being signed by Sony. Unfortunately he became too ill to continue, just a few months into the contract, so the contract was allowed to lapse. I bet Sony are kicking themselves now, even though Ren agreed it was the best decision at the time. Every label under the Sun has tried to sign Ren in the last couple of years. He's turned them all down! With Ren it really is all about the music! Anyway... I digress.. :) Ren was effectively bedridden, incredibly ill and in constant, unrelenting chronic pain, making proper sleep nigh on impossible, for the next 7 years! An eventual correct diagnosis and a couple of stem cell transplants gave him his life back, although still seriously ill and still in constant, but generally lesser, pain. Re-emerging into the World, he started busking again. As he had when a teenager. At this time he moved into Romain's flat and they started writing and performing together. Romain is on lead guitar in this clip but they swap instruments freely in the band. They were soon joined by Gorran and The Big Push was formed! Gorran is playing bass in this clip. Ren was filling in on drums, whenever they needed a drum part but this solution wasn't ideal, so they advertised for a drummer and Glenn joined. The 3 frontmen are all singers, songwriters and multi instrumentalists, though Ren plays by far the most instruments. They also relied on Ren for audio setup and virtually all of their production. Having someone like Ren in the band helps to attract attention but both Romain and Gorran are extremely talented in their own right! They were together for a few years, gradually becoming more and more popular but Ren had to take a break to receive treatment in Canada, where he's been for the last 14 months, so the band went on hiatus. There are plans for a reunion but as all their solo careers have taken off, particularly Ren's stratospheric rise, it's likely to be a one-off affair. Ren continued producing solo work, throughout his time in the band. Indeed much of his chart-topping album, 'Sick Boi', was written during that period. At the same time he was regularly collaborating with Sam Tompkins, who Ren discoverd and mentored for a while. Ren also had several collaborations with Chinchilla and also with Liv Sangster, as well as a couple of studio collaborations each with Eden Nash and Bibi. The latter being his girlfriend for a couple of years. In most of thes collaborations Ren was the driving force. Less so in some, especially Liv Sangster butgenerally speaking he was doing all or most of the writing, arranging, audio and production, as well as providing most, or all, of any instrumental accompaniment needed. Once again, with exception of Liv. ...and that brings us almost to the present day. With Ren's 15 month treatment ordeal due to end next month, we can expect a lot of creative activity from Ren this year. Though hopefully he'll take time to relax and chill too. The thing is, music creation, for Ren is his chill, close to zen, time. So he could be a musical machine this year, lol. As long as he remembers to sleep! :)

Fun fact: Three of the four songs in this mashup pay homage to Bob Marley. "I Shot the Sherriff", obviously, is by Bob Marley. "Road to Zion" is by Bob Marley's son, Damien Marley. The opening line in Ded Prez' "Hip Hop," "One thing 'bout music, when it hit you feel no pain," is a quotation attributed to Bob Marley. Now, if there's a connection between Bob Marley and either "A Little Bit of Luck" by DJ Luck & MC Neat or Bugzy Malone's "Through the Night," I haven't been able to find it.

Ren? How far back? Should it start with him 10-12 yrs old creating and recording and selling his own beats at "hippie festivals" he was taken to annually by his parents? When he began self teaching himself guitar at that same age? Performing in school, at talent events? Maybe when he began teaching himself how to Rap and Sing because he couldnt find anyone in the tiny Welsh rural community he was raised in? Maybe a good start would be when his best ever friend Joe Hughs died by suicide? Or when he was signed by Sony and illness knocked his ummmm... d**k in the dirt ... keeping him bedridden and misdiagnosed and mismedicated for 7-10 yrs? He created music that whole time in the few minutes and hours each day he could. Maybe when he was in a documentry for ME? Maybe instead when he went back to busking solo, met Romain and they rented a place together? Or when Gorran was brought into the fold by Romain and eventually formed a group of buskers named "The Big Push"? That is about 19yrs of prehistory and 13yrs of recent history.... and now current events from the last couple years. My advice. Go explore. Watch the many interviews. Check out the BBB catalog. Ah.... Go to Sam Tompkins channel and see when Ren found him. Love and Mushy Peas! To all.

Romain does this melancholy music that takes me away. And Gorran is a time traveler from the 60s, I swear. They are all so different yet gel so well and no sense of egos with them.
