Ren and Romain did live together for over 6 years. They began busking together and The Big Push was born from that. They lived together up until Ren had to go to Canada for treatment, at which time The Big Push disbanded and they all began to do their own thing.

Drummer is Glenn Chambers, and he's top notch. Romain and Ren were roommates before forming a band, they had both broken up with girlfriends and needed a flatmate. Girls squealing spontaneously when Ren points a finger is a harbinger of things to come, IMO -- he's got *massive* charisma. I hope this band is able to get back together somehow, although it seems unlikely (Glenn got married and is in Asia, I think). Tons of Ren and The Big Push are on Spotify, I have about 4 hours of their music on Spotify playlists.

A reunion of the Big Push .isn't out of the question. I hope Ren brings them along when he's able to tour. It's just me but I don't see the resemblance to Shelby beyond the haircut. It looks like he's been growing his hair out recently. It' looks good! None of that matters given Ren's incredible talent. Can't wait for his drop July 29.The still from the video looks gorgeous.

We in England have a huge bond with Jamaica. We had a bunch of migrations after WW2 to fill jobs. Our Jamaican cousins have of course brought the culture that is part of our melting pot. We had a movement called “Mods” who connected through Ska (a derivative of Reggie and dub) and Vespa motor cycles. Brighton was the Mecca of Mods. Brighton is also where Ren spent his formative years. So thats the Reggie/dub connection for you. 😊

The commonwealth link is something Americans will never understand. My dad, an Aussie spent a lot of time in the 60s with the West Indian community in Notting Hill (well before it became gentrified) and has some amazing cultural stories.

I wish more people would talk about the melting pot our country has been since before the Romans. For me it’s what gives our country its huge cultural relevance and what powers our impact on the movie, music a general art world wide. Ren has a massive blend of musical influences and he seems to personify that blend.

I don't think that Americans have heard of busking!! It's popular in Australia, the U.K and other parts of the world. The performers play and the crowd puts money in the guitar case!! That's how alot of people start their music career!! Much love from Australia.............

I've known what busking is for probably at least 10 years or so, so it wasn't a new one for me. But you're right, for some reason a lot of Americans don't know what it is, but it's also not a word we use here, so it kinda makes sense for people to not be familiar with it. That's part of what I enjoy about doing reactions though, is learning about other countries and cultures through the reactions.

Yes, I check out his content from time to time and I noticed he seems to point it out in his videos. I think it's all relative to where you live or perhaps countries you may have visited. I'm in Houston, TX and it's a HUGE city. Although we do have some "street performers aka buskers" here, it's not a very big scene. I would think New York subways would probably be the closest comparison to what Ren and his mates do. I think I first heard of the term "busking" back when I first discovered DubFX on KZbin (10-12 years ago). Coincidentally, I saw that Black Pegasus has a reaction video that came out last week I think to DubFX. I opted not to do a reaction to DubFX since I've known who he is for so long, and I also haven't looked him up recently to see if he's still putting out content on KZbin. But now I'm curious to go back and look at some of those to see if he was performing in the same locations as Ren.

There's a story I think Ren told it. One day the police came to find out why there was a crowd gathering , they saw it was Ren doing his busking so they just walked away an left the crowd to enjoy the show

Ren can play guitar (obviously 😂), bass guitar, drums and piano/keyboards. Gorran plays guitar and bass. Romain plays guitar and piano keyboards. Glen plays the drums and pots and pans on occasion. 😂 Ren, Gorran and Romain all sing and each one has a unique voice that allows them to do a wide variety of covers and originals.

Rens guitar play on this one reminds me of John Mayer. He makes the guitar sing instead of playing it. Incredible talented. Oh and btw: I'm happy that you appreciate Romains music! He's a wonderful artist too When it comes to the big push Ren told a story that once, after busking for a longer time, he announced the band will play in brighton on a specific day. When showing up and they wanted to prepare for the gig already around a thousand people were waiting in the streets for the band to appear and the police blocked the roads so they could play safely.
