I am going to do a follow up video. I went back to my 13700k since the 14900k was a buddies, he let me use it for the video. I am just not seeing the proformace jump that wowed me. I have my 13700k at 55 and never goes over 85c. 250watt and cinebench of 31000. So I mite just stay here. Time will tell

Try Load line calibration Mode 8, you could decrease undershoot(lowest point of voltage in changing load state) hence you could lower Vcore voltage required to stable work under load(push negative offset voltage higher)

I recommend manully finding lowest IMC voltages (VDDQ, VDDA), don't run XMP profiles, most gains come from RAM overclock and timings on this platform, get cache overclocked as well and if gaming only disable e-cores completely, you get lower fps with them. My timings and settings, same msi bios: kzbin.info/www/bejne/lXvLiZaCiah2lck , i would not recommend exceeding 1.28v on any of the voltage, VCSAA should be on 1.05v or so, its ddr4 voltage, you don't need it with ddr5. 1.25v - for V-core should be max voltage as well, whatever clock speed is stable you should stop there and not try additional 100mhz which bring 0 fps especially in 4k.

Intel 14th gen has horrible energy efficiency in general. When I got my 14600k it was using up to 150-180 and over 200w with cinabench. The temps were by far the worst. I start off with around 60c and end up at 80c or higher, so I watched a simple undervolt video via bios. I tried a negative voltage offset of 0.05 which was good enough to keep my temps around 65-70c. I went a bit more aggressive to see how good my chip was and ended up being able to run a negative offset of 0.13-0.125 without any problems for a few weeks now. My temps don’t go any higher than 60c and around low 40c in idle. I see no impact in performance if anything my cpu uses less power while performing better at around 80-70w in most games and 100w. I really recommend undervolting these 14th gen cpus because of the power consumption spikes and the temps. Btw I used a contact frame with a 140mm aio.

I 100% agree. As I showed in the video. I even showed how to adjust the ACLL and DCLL for even better. As this point i am not seeing a huge uplift over the 13700k beside 10000 points in cineabench, so I put back in the 13700k and seeing how far I can push it.lol.. I d9nt see much due to I do everything at 4k so I am GPU limited.

I have a 14900k + z790 edge ti WiFi max. I set all core 57/44/45. 253w at 400A. TVB disabled, enhanced turbo disabled. LLC mode 6. AC LL 20, DC LL 40 (matches LLC). I used to do adaptive offset, now I just do offset -140mv. 7200 mts ram.

I will make a profile and see if it tanks or over heats on mine with those. I have yet to 85c in all that I do. And I do a lot of cpu coding and intense work loads. Thanks for the comment.

@@Thomaswithtomology after a 30 min run at 307A, I hit about 78c. At 400A I hit about 86-88c. I’m using an LT720 and contract frame

@kpm4620 will check it out. I use a contact frame as well. 8 have since 12th gen. I've never seen a difference but never wanted the bend in my board

Btw try running you dram to as close to gear 1 for me I have 6000mhz ram and I run my dram at 5600mhz at a custom gear to get close to the 1:1 dram to ram speed. While it doesn’t put much strain on the memory controller but works for me. I tried using the gear 2 method, so dram running at half the ram speed but I don’t really think that there is a huge performance difference.
@Thomaswithtomology25 күн бұрын
I will have to try that and see if it does anything I have mine Gear 2 6800 with no issues so far. I will look at 6000 and see. Thank you for your comment.

@@Thomaswithtomology It does depend on the quailty of your motherboard or CPU max ram speed. If I change my Dram to match my ram ( gear 1) my pc doesent boot and I restart my pc using the power button and boot into bios to change to a option that will let me boot into windows for me that is 5600mhz. You have a better setup so 1:1 dram to ram ratio should work for you.

Thinking the same thing. AMD is showing good promise

To be completely honest I wouldn't even care if it was able to be cooled easily with just a basic AIO. The fact that CPU runs close to, if not over, 300 watts during heavy load and 150-200 during medium load gaming is bonkers and unacceptable. The performance per watt is garbage compared to anything AMD. Let's not even talk about quality control, cause it's all over the news so everyone knows. However this was an interesting and entertaining video!

I cam get a good benchmark score and run games and my apps at 253 max with no problem. It's when you want all core never to drop the heat and watts go up. I seen so many people talk about taming this with a 54 or 55. I was just showing it can be done even at 57 on a low mid teir motherboard. Thanks for watch.

Why? Every day use case for 95% of everyone don't use prime 95. This is because no one said they can tame the best. For everyday use and gaming it's fine. I have yet seen pass 85c. All my Ai programs, games video editing, coding. Nothing.
