Thank you for the video. Very honest explanation As an owner of Standard ‘99 I totally agree with you :)

WOW!!! That was awesome! Great review! I just bought one of the 99's, and it is truly unique guitar. So the block saddles (I think they call them high mass) should give more resonance. Maybe that is why the low E sounds a little more harmonicy (

Wow! Tx for this amazing video. I am the proud owner of a 1997 maple neck inca silver one. Love it. Switching from being a Les Paul pafs and p90 guy into the strat arena. Leaving my Gibbies and Dueseys. Its quite a step. For the first time Im playing a decent one I guess. This vid allows me to value it on different setups when it s played really, really well. Tx!!!

I haven't bought any higher end guitars since about 2002. I am definitely partial to those 90s guitars and think those were the real heyday for US made guitars. Old vintage guitars I had played were not too great IMO like the vintage purists make them out to be. This strat seems like a gem to me

Interesting thing to share at least perhaps for some, In the late 90’s or perhaps early 2000’s on the Junie Morrison’s website, I remember seeing a post from him about the US Standard Strat. For those unfamiliar, Junie was a multi-instrumentalist, known for his contributions to bands like the Ohio Players, Parliament Funkadelic, along with his solo work. Junie said the US Standard Strat, was for him, the best guitar out there, very versatile, it can play any genre, and much better than the Pro, he also said he had a preference for the maple neck. At that time even the Standard was too expensive for me, but when the Highway One came out I picked it up very quickly and still have it today. Voila!

At that time the levels for Strats would have been Standard/Series, Deluxe, and then Vintage Year Specifics. The Deluxe is generally an upgraded Standard/Series with Noiseless pickups. Maybe that's what he was talking about? They all have Maple necks, though. Cheers -Ryan

@@Crypticmaskguitar thx for the clarification, it was a long time ago, i don't remember exactly, only that it was a US standard and not the superior version that he recommended, it could have been in the mid nineties too. I remember because at the time, i wanted to learn and buy a guitar, and was very influenced by his post

Fantastic playing as always! With the various tunings and b/c I didn't see a bar, do you keep the trem blocked?
@Crypticmaskguitar8 ай бұрын
Thanks. I’ve never been a fan of blocking trems. I just adjust the claw so that the trem is close to the body and less likely to mess with the tuning if I rest my palm on the bridge. Cheers -Ryan

The argument can be put to rest.. Yes, it is good.
