Great video. The 2019 Maybachs are coming out with a hideous new vertical slatted grill. Is the traditional Mercedes grill still an option? If not, I would seriously consider having one hand made.

Emad Ahmed Yea! I, mean, I'm sure Bentley and Rolls-Royce make use of even higher quality materials for the interior of their cars. But, I don't think either can match up to the Maybach when it comes to comfort and technological features. You open the back door of the Mayback, and right away, you just want to lie down fully stretched on the back seats.

The S-class is incredible with its ride control and active body control generating negative roll in corners when going very fast, but its downside is that it feels like a space ship, rather than a car whereas the 7-series still feels like a car and it's equally luxurious inside. 7-series = driver's choice.

Having had 2 Mercedes 190 E 2.3 16 V ($43,600 1987) and a 560 SEL 3 Lexus and one BMW 750iL X drive and a Lexus ES 350 FWD (sucked) a GS 350 AWD of but slow and my 460 LS AWD I The Lexus puts the Mercedes to shame in handling and dependability and the BMW is fun to drive but not as comfortable as the Lexus Both my 750 IL and 460 LS L AWD for thier size has decent 0-60 time and both in sport mode handle really tight tuns over 130 MPH

Herbert Diaz Maybe, but if you go to Auto Auction Rebuilds, he just got a 2001 S600 and the V12 is still in good shape after 110K miles. Just that it’s the electronic gremlins are the problem, not the engine.

I'm sorry this car isn't the best in its class. This is just a more powerful extended wheelbase fully optioned s class. Nice car but very little to differentiate it from the s class. Seems a lot of journalists are afraid to criticise Mercedes. Heard that's one condition the dealers give them if not they won't get to review their cars. I would rather a Ghost any day or Mulsanne without a doubt. Those are just more premium and are far more distinguishable setting it apart from this bigger and more powerful s class.

It's not just exclusivity and brand name. The Maybach is very limited and very much exclusive. Yes i agree it doesn't have the name of RR and Bentley. Other than this, the attention to details, levels of craftsmanship, materials used in a RR or Bentley is just way ahead of any Maybach. Have you seen the star light headliner in a RR? Do you know how incredible that looks and the level of craftsmanship it takes to execute it? Rolls Royce is all about bespoke and you can virtually have anything customized to your taste, so one Ghost is different from the next. You just can't compare a Maybach to them simple. You can compare the S class to its real rivals, the 7 series, the LS, the A8 and Jaguar XJ.

Emad Ahmed We will have to disagree on that one. You could however check how many Maybachs have sold - since it has been reintroduced (after its last failure). People see the (and it looks like one) Maybach, as a slightly more luxurious S class.... hold on it is! The standard S class and Maybach are exceptional cars. But customers with money know the difference - and its not just the car, it’s technology and how good it drives. When you buy a Rolls Royce or Bentley, you pay for the history and the name. Something the Maybach cant compete with.

*Why You Should Get a Kia, Or a Genesis, Rather Than This...* Why would you pay for an oversized sedan that costs more than a super car. Especially in the extreme SUV market today! If you want to get a luxury sedan, don't go for some oversized unreliable piece of shit. Get something a ton more reasonable like for example, a Kia K900, or a Genesis G90. This car is nowhere near worth it's price... The Kia, and Genesis I just mentioned is pretty much just as powerful, comfortable, and technical as it's crappy German counterpart. And that Mercedes S-Class design is soooo outdated and boring in todays world. Plus, Genesis and Kia are getting better Reliability, and Consumer Satisfaction Scores than Mercedes.
