For the last two years, the #CivicTypeR has ruled the hot hatch segment across the world, it rewrote your expectations on what you expect a FWD hot hatch to perform like. For 2019, #Honda is giving the #TypeR very little changes, aside from a new sonic gray pearl exterior color and a slightly updated infotainment system. With up to 306 HP driving the front wheels and a one choice only, 6-speed manual transmission, has the competition finally stepped up their game to steal the crown from Honda?

The design perfectly fits the personality of the car. Any car show or event I attend with my Type R, I get nothing but compliments from people. I'm glad they didn't go with typical Honda conservative styling on it!! Not to mention it's an absolute blast to drive, I've owned S2000's, and STi's and the CTR is the best of all worlds when it comes to usability and pure driving joy.

Anthony C LS3 for the boost. LS7 for NA. I’m going to get a C8 in a couple of years if the owner experience is well received. The only thing I’m disappointed with the CTR is track performance when it’s hot outside. Even with every cooling mod besides a vented hood, these things are going into limp mode on track after a few laps.

Obviously, I don't speak for anyone else, but as I've gotten older, I'm far more interested in staying under the radar and less inclined to want to drive a vehicle that screams "hey officer, look at me!" I want this to be my first brand new car. But starting at 37k it’s a little pricey. I wish dealerships wouldn’t mark them up so much. I’ve looked around and every single one that I’ve looked at has a markup. The worst one I saw was 10k. It’s freaking crazy I had one of the sales people at Honda call it a “supercar” I almost burst out laughing. Most places don’t even let you test drive them... Might just go for the si 🤷🏾‍♂️

The Type-R, if it sells at retail, is roughly the equivalent of the base WRX STI at the recommended price to offer dealers even with the recaro seat package included. But the buyer doesn't get the utility of the hatch, unfortunately. It is that hatch v. AWD conundrum. I wish that Acura would take the hatch and gave it the moon roof, safety package, a DSG option and scrape off the extra aero surfaces for a really fun, useful commuter.
@stevornrichards1380
@stevornrichards1380 4 жыл бұрын
stop asking for options. make the car more expensive. I thought sunroof interferes with the rigidity of the car and added weight that hinders performance. Honda made a touring model for the civic with those options. this performs the way it does because those beautiful engineers knows exactly what they're doing and the performance results shown and proven.

I would do 1-100 instead of 1-10 for the scoring, that way you have more room to play with the score if not all the cars will end up getting a pretty much same score. Let’s say the real world usage you could’ve given a 78 instead of 7 because I felt you wanted you give it a 8 but you had to give a 7 because the golf R has more space.

I can buy one of these for $35k or a SI for 23K. Which one would you choose for your only car to drive? plus tag title and taxes on both....

I'm pretty sure that's the middle exhaust port. I know the middle one is supposed to suck in air.

No "crackles and pops" please......the Type-R sounds just fine. They should focus on plugging other gaps in the car. Just my take.
