My 2021 A-Spec, I really like the 2.4 Liter and the dual clutch transmission (with torque converter) drive train, its very refined and polished and makes really nice sound on accelerations. It could have used more foot pounds of torque lower in the rev band, but this little car is a joy to drive as a commuter car.

I just bought a 2020 ILX with the premium package and OMG its amazing!!! The drive is smooth the interior is so nice! I got the black exterior with espresso brown interior and it looks amazing! The seats are so comfortable. The heated seat goes all the way up your back with a low or high heat setting for them. Apple CarPlay makes it easy to charge your phone while being able to play music answer calls and texts, and be able to use your own gps on screen. So many features for sound including a subwoofer and SVC! The steering wheel feels so nice it’s soft but durable and sturdy. The only things for me that I wish were different is the option for AWD, I wish the dash had incorporated some of the coloring from the leather seats (would’ve been nice to see some brown on the dash or even the gear shift and emergency brake,) and the fact that there is only one USB port and it’s the one that connects to CarPlay. I actually really dislike that last part. It would be nice to have more usb outlets or even the traditional outlet for the cigarette lighter thing. There should also be vents in the back for back passengers and an outlet but at the same time that doesn’t affect me too much, just makes the riding experience not as nice for the back passengers. There are also two nicely sized cup holders on the front doors in addition to the ones in the center console and arm rest in the back. I’m very happy with my purchase! It may be the least expensive model that Acura has but it is luxury and you instantly feel that the moment you enter the car! This is the best bang for your buck out of sedans in my opinion! Definitely advise getting the premium it was about $29k but we got the price down to $24.2k with some negotiation we got $1,200 off and 2 free oil changes. Also, if you have the capability to buy and not finance you should actually lease because it took off $3,200 from the price. You have the ability to pay off the car the next week if you’d like and get to save $3,200 which is what I am planning to do. Hope this helps!

This car is a blast to drive. It’s lighter & more nimble than a camry v6. The engine sound is great without the annoying exhaust pops of today’s cars. It’s fun to wind out the revs and hear the naturally aspirated engine which a turbo would ruin. Fast enough to keep up or pass traffic but slow enough to floor the accelerator hard without being in the triple digits. The analog speedometer/tachometer gauges look great. The current exterior design looks very nice. Good job Acura!

I still like this car, but for the price, I would probably prefer a Camry TRD now. I believe it's basically a carryover from the 2019 update, so still riding on the previous 9th generation Civic platform. Aftermarket performance shocks and springs may improve handling characteristics. I am glad it still has the previous Si N/A Vtech engine and DCT from the previous year, but the 2020 Si is a much better performance bargain for $10K less. I hate the old beak grill and like the appearance of the new ILX much better, but still looks like a bird, but not necessarily a bad thing. If this is similar to the 2019, I would have to get it in Apex Blue Pearl with the black leather interior. And fir the price, there should be a map pocket behind the driver's seat, too. The right side dashboard you mentioned looks like a drowning robot. Now that will always distract me if I got this car. I know the back is more cramped than a new Honda Civic sedan, but I would rarely have rear seat passengers. I like that it's smaller and cheaper than the TLX, but still expensive, but has all the good stuff without all the more complex features of the TLX and other line models that could have problems and more expense to repair, or replace. But the one main reason I would want this is to have it with the technology package with the acclaimed ELS sound system. But the JBL system with a CD player and 800 watts in a new Camry XSE is a good concession for about the same price with a comparable horsepower I4 engine. But I still would probably get the 2020 Civic Sport Sedan or Hatchback or Si, maybe even with the HPF package. But I would even consider the Camry TRD at the price if this ILX A-spec if I could get it with the JBL stereo with the CD player, even if it doesn't have all the nice XSE features.

Competitor? Um How Bout The Mazda 3?
@marknovatorskiy75995 жыл бұрын
@@gregholman2930 I guess but the ILX has slightly more power, a better and faster transmission, and looks wayyyy cooler and sportier than the bland Mazda 3. The Mazda 3 has AWD going for it though

Thanks for a great review. What do you recommend - a 2020 ILX fully loaded or 2020 Accord EXL?
@RaitisRides3 жыл бұрын
Accord all day long. Thanks for your support!
@kingfarticusreturns63715 жыл бұрын
The ILX isn't so bad actually. I think it's the only Acura that makes sense because it's cheap, and Acura appeals to cheapos. The cosmetic enhancements of the A-Spec package are indeed nice but man paying over $30K for this doesn't make sense. With a starting price of $25,900, the base ILX is the one you want. A Honda CR-V EX costs more than that! Get the base model and then you can tell your friends you're driving this premium luxury sedan. That's what it's all about!

@@RaitisRides Thanks for the quick response. For sure the WRX performances beats the ILX anyday but i seem to like the exterior of the ILX better. The funny thing is they almost look the same from the side..lol.

Also legit suspension mods on the TRD. I feel like Acura's not even trying anymore. (Too busy fixing ugly front end grills/noses every 3 years...this ones obviously better, but the cartoonishly large "A" on the grill needs to shrink about 30%. IMO...for whatever that's worth)

I considered the ILX but went GTI DSG for my daily. There’s just a little more urgency when I want it, but I would have preferred normal aspiration. The ILX just didn’t merit the extra spend as the GTI was discounted to $23k.

@geoffl.32475 жыл бұрын
It's a civic what did you expect? They've been slacking in the performance division for years. It should have AWD, it should have at least 260hp, it should have better brakes, it should have a better suspension. But then it would cost 50,000 dollars, and nobody is going to buy a tiny, 4-door, up-scale civic for 50 grand.
