The ULTIMATE Corvette is here! The 2020 C8 is the first mid-engine Corvette ever produced. Raiti's Rides it was a combination of a strike that they had, GM being behind already on orders and then the virus. They’ve stopped taking orders entirely for now and production has been pushed back, orders now for only the 2021 model year I think. Something along those lines, a shame I wanted to see one in person or in the streets.

Just an estimate, it may be longer. GM screwed up by taking 40k+ orders for a car during UAW strikes. Its almost guaranteed to be something on it to fail as these are being rushed out right now, even preproduction models already had check engine lights on. Some KZbinrs already admitted theirs had to light on already as well.

That car is just INSANE! Especially given the starting price. Cannot even imagine what the Z06 and ZR1 will end up being in terms of performance. MIND BLOWN! 🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯Oh and just a minor correction on Corvette history from a Corvette fanatic. You mentioned Targa roof being around since the C7. It first appeared on the 1984 Corvette so the C4 was when it was first available. Prior to that you got T-Tops which I believe started with the C3 in 1968.

Hey Joe. I love what you do man. I discovered you about two weeks ago. I have learned so much about this iconic new corvette over the past few weeks, thanks mostly to your thorough reviews. Hey, twice in this video you mentioned that you were NOT happy with the lack of a manual transmission option. I feel ya on that. For folks who want that "true racing experience" nothing beats an old skool manual transmission. However Joe, I have noticed a trend across the automotive industry of car manufacturers scuttling manual transmissions for automatic transmissions with shifter paddles behind the steering wheel. Personally, after using both, the gears change faster, up and down, when using the paddle shifters. From a safety standpoint I like being able to engage my paddle shifter to downshift in my Chrysler 300 when I have to slow down abruptly. Conversely, I like being able to "manual shift" up with ease and quickness when accelerating on those days when I'm feeling like Mario Andretti. Overall, I think that that paddle shifters get you up to a fast speed quicker than "a stick on the floor" and a clutch peddle. Therefore, I think that the days of the manual transmission might be behind us; at least in mass produced consumer vehicles. What are your thoughts???

No, because it doesn't have a manual transmission. My father has been a long time Corvette fan, but every Corvette he has owned has always been a true manual transmission. Losing that is like losing what made the Corvette such a pure performance experience. It's so sad to see it come to this just to get "better" performance. Am I the only one?
