Is the 2022 Cadillac CT4-V Blackwing a BETTER sport sedan than an Audi RS3?

The ALL NEW CT4-V Blackwing is finally hear and Cadillac wanted to raise the performance sedan bar. Under the hood is a 3.6L twin-turbo V6 that produces 472HP & mated to a 6-speed MANUAL gearbox. On the outside you will find functional carbon fiber aero bits, 18in wheels, 6-piston Brembo brakes, and quad-tip exhaust. On the inside you will be greeted to a unique interior with full-back race seats, 8in infotainment system, digital gauge cluster and unique steering wheel.

It is sad to see many cars in the US stray away from manual options and tbh, with things like lane-keep assist, autopilots in cars, collision avoidance, blind-spot monitoring, etc. I can see driving all together becoming a thing of the past. These things are great but takes the driver out of the picture kind of. Just my opinion! But definitely manual in an EV would be awesome!

The world is on notice! America is making some of the best performance cars on the planet. American efficiency and ingenuity allows us to sell these cars at 1/3 to 1/2 of what it would sell for from any of the top Euro manufacturers. I know Jeremy Clarkson and other Brits that love to hate on American cars are crying now. Cadillac Blackwing if it were sold by Aston Martin, this car would be $225k. But it’s not an Aston Martin, it’s better, it’s A Cadillac, it’s American! Camaro ZL1 1LE, Mustang GT350 R, GT 500 , C8 Corvette Z06 and of course Tesla. America is out producing the world with 1st class performance cars at half the price. GOD BLESS AMERICA!

I think it's more of an RS5 competitor than RS3 if your comparing spec sheets. Especially considering this is basically a mid size sedan in terms of size and weight and the RS3 is a subcompact. One of the smaller in the segment. Great review though!

The 2021-2 Audi RS3 doesn't offer a stick, but it does offer AWD and a 0-60 in 3.5 seconds I didn't see these as competitors in this market. This is not AWD, or that quick If you want one, you probably aren't interested in the other. Cadillac is going after BMW M2/3 and Mercedes C63

RS3 will beat this all day and twice in Sunday. And when it comes to the aftermarket and start modding the RS3 will shit on this car. This car will weight 4K and when the RS3 will be at 3600lbs. The manual is cool but doesn’t win races you can do any dance you want and the dsg is still going to be faster. And saying the RS3 doesn’t sound good you are nuts that 5 cylinder sounds amazing better then any 6 cylinder car out there. And at 80k like this one a fully load Rs3 maxes out at $68k.

How neutral is the handling? It kind of looked like it was understeering on the track, but hard to tell for sure. Is the no lift shift feature only active during full throttle acceleration or can you use it during normal driving also. The instrument cluster is a huge improvement over the ATS-V. If I was in the market, the Cavalier style gauges of the ATS-V might have been a deal breaker. Thank you Joe and Lori.

Man, I'm absolutely in love with this vehicle and I can't wait to see others review it. Imo, I feel like the CT4-V Blackwing is gonna sell more than the CT5-V Blackwing simply because it's smaller and more nimble and all that good stuff. Of course, the best thing would be to have both of these cars as there's something to enjoy with both of them. They are basically Cadillac's modern day halo cars I would say.

So this is going to be competing with the Lexus IS500. Very similar power output. At the base price it's an enticing package. Once you said the high end price though, I think there are a lot better options. Base price on a Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrafoglio is 75k with decent options it's about $82k.

Ok, so I just purchased a 23'CT4 BW... ive watched just about EVERY youtube video review. Within one day, i can identify a few things NOBODY has covered yet, the negatives. 1) the glare from the front dash and rear into the windshield glass is obnoxious. 2) while using the wireless charging pad, its extremely difficult to reach in and grab it out with the shifter in the way, the pad is too short height-wise. 3) too many buttons for drive modes and traction mode, lose track of which mode youre in then trying to get back to "normal" mode is distracting while trying to keep driving.

Not sure why you keep comparing it against the RS3, the Audi RS3 is a full size smaller than the CT4-V. The real competitors of the Cadillac CT4-V Blackwing are the Merc C63 AMG, BMW M3/M4 and the Audi RS4/5.

Absolutely DO NOT BUY ! major engineering issues and the 3.6 in every format is a disaster....have worked on so many and they refail shortly after repair......and the automatic will fail before 60K. Cadillac and GM in general have been a nightmare for 30 years.......sucker purchase

I’m not much of an Audi fan, to be honest, but even if I were, I think the Caddy is just an overwhelming value. I’d definitely choose it as the winner in this market segment. BMW and Mercedes... too quirky and expensive, not to mention, unreliable. The Audi... too ugly and unreliable, besides. The Cadillac just seems to offer everything... great looks, great handling, awesome power and adequate, if not impressive, features. Looks like a winner to me (although, I think I’d probably still go with the CT5 V BW)!

How can you compare this to the RS3!!?... this should compare to the RS5, or better yet, the M3 RWD and the CT5-VB should compare to the RS7/M5.. you'll be sitting in that drab interior with inferior tech, miles behind anything the Germans offer. The only thing this car has over any of the competition is the manual gearbox and for anyone driving in city traffic it's not an advantage. Also, coming back to the RS3.. you can actually drive the new one in rear wheel bias and so you get the best of both worlds where as you'll be using a fraction of the CT4-VB's power in wet or snow conditions

Zonk is the 10cuft. trunk, hope the back seat fold down. Should be at least 12cuft. Even my BMW 240i has 12cuft and fold down seats. How is it on the gas? Off the line does it need the 4 wheel drive or just grippy tires?

I drove the Audi & the Cadillac … no comparison. The Cadillac is the BOSS; simply kills it on all measures. This car is nasty from top to bottom & retains luxury while doing so.
