+Resting Fish Face As a German i still don't understand why so many Cars apparently are only offered as Automatik in the USA, while they are still made with Manual over here. Newest 2021 M4 is common to get as Manual here in Germany, same true for the other Models, the only German Company who stops offering Manual starting in 2022 for any Model no matter what is Mercedes-Benz. The other still offer them and will for the upcoming Years. This makes me think the USA just doesn't get Manual Versions, here in Germany they're still common in newly produced Cars, whether it's a Volkswagen, BMW, Audi, Porsche etc. In Germany learning to drive with a Manual Stick Shift is still mandatory (you have to learn manual) and at Driving Schools you can choose to learn Automatic, but only as an Addition to learning Manual. So this might be the Reason Manuals are more common and still produced for the German Market Prost & Cheers from the Bavarian Alps

The styling of Caddy's is far more distinctive and appealing than Mercedes and BMWs to my mind and I'll never quite understand why they don't sell more cars, unless it's just a brand image thing. I've placed an order for a Blaze Orange 6MT with Sewell Cadillac. No idea when GM will actually accept the order, or when I might lay my hands on the car, but I'm assuming 6-9 months at this point. Never thought I would be in the market for a $100K new car, but I don't think these things will depreciate very much, and probably bottom out around $75K, before slowing starting to appreciate. If I'm gonna spend that kinda cash for a used one, I might as well spend a bit more for a new one and get it exactly the way I want it. Since Cadillac has said no more gas-powered V cars after 2025, and since literally no other manufacturer makes a supercharged V8 6MT sedan, it's now or never. Amusingly, I bought a low-mile cream-puff '09 red 6MT CTS-V sedan at the end of July, right before the Blackwing reviews came out and I decided I had to have one. The '09 immediately went up for sale, and took about a month and a half before it found a new home. The '09 was quick, but it just felt "big" and unwieldy, especially compared to the B8.5 S4 that I sold to buy the V. I'm hoping that the BW's slightly smaller size will make it feel more like the S4 and less like the '09 V.

One of the things about a manual transmission is that it puts the driver in direct and complete control over the transmission. As a result it takes skill and practice to properly shift and operate a manual transmission. Today very few people have this practice and skill. As a result it is possible for a person to rev up the engine in a manual transmission to red line rpm and accidentally shift to a lower gear, causing an engine overspeed and destroying the engine. With all these automatic transmissions and automated transmissions that have a manual mode and steering wheel paddle shifters this can not happen, because the transmission computer control will not allow a downshift that could destroy the engine, also the transmission computer control will not allow an upshift that would drop the engine to too low an rpm.
