I don’t think these guy really understand what the 4V was specifically designed to do. Designed to be a track scalpel that can be driven daily. Their understanding of performance shift is incomplete. Performance shift has to do with the sustained enhanced RPM ranges and throttle usage. Not whether your going around a corner and coming out of one. Use V mode and set it for performance shift and engine power then go drive it hard…different experience that just cruising in sport. Not a bad review though..

Manual need to be an option for every car. And when I say manual it means the car has a third pedal! Not the stupid manual option on an automatic, not the paddle shifters on the steering wheel. I’m not going to be trying to have the best 0-60 time every time I drive the car but I will be enjoying the connection with the car every time I drive it. Keep your little .02 seconds faster on 0-60 and make manuals great again! Your top car option should always be available in manual. Most of these manufacturer act like they’re punishing people for simply preferring to drive a manual. The new Tacoma I think can’t get the top package if you want manual just like the bronco, the demon, etc. also the manual should have two options: regular pattern and sequential! The CT5 I think would be wonderful with a manual sequential! Three pedal sequential ! The automatics are boring to drive and when I see a badass sports car it instantly loses all appeal when I look in the window and see PRNDM or paddle shifters! Not spending my hard earned money to the tune of $80,000+ to put in gear and press go 😂. Don’t care what’s under the hood or how cool the body looks!

@stephendoherty82912 жыл бұрын
There might be hope with ICE IF hydrogen or carbon neutral fuel can be made work. I can still see this car working as a hybrid. You don't care about hearing the engine noise under say 30mph and who cares about performance in city driving. It would need a smaller engine (like the V6) or a much smaller V8 and the space freed for a battery. Will performance EVs demand regen braking (Porsche sells EVs and manages to get a reasonable braking feel but we'll know when the 911 hybrid arrives) and can performance gearbox feel still happen in a EV? Otherwise the suspension here can be the same, the interior, the tires, the LSD.
@mecampbell302 жыл бұрын
Honestly I think electrified turbos are a great compromise. I would love to see hydrogen powered ICE cars as the next thing (as it could also work for fuel cell vehicles) but the technical challenges for storing hydrogen in a pressurized tank are really tough. Maybe it will be a luxury item on more expensive cars while lower priced cars remain fuel cell or battery powered.
@stephendoherty82912 жыл бұрын
@@mecampbell30 Ironically those who buy expensive cars often have plenty charging space, the funds to install solar panels and the demand to visit city attractions where emission free cars will only be allowed into cities. They like boasting about their green credentials (dont ask about their business emissions or what they invest in). If they need to travel further, they can call a helicopter/private jet/fly or ask others to visit them instead. As to electric turbos, we're already seeing 48v hybrid power powering most of the interior power requirements (interior lights/instruments/demisting etc). Its more efficient but there fuel saving is minor. Trucks are now using batteries to run the trailer cooling and the trucks internal power demand. I can see hydrogen as the last fuel in the gas station whose mostly offer high DC charging (at a premium), hydrogen for semi trucks and farming vehicles and a very expensive low carbon blend for the older legacy cars that people want to keep (the old Mustang/Ferrari etc).

If this was going to be the last generation anyway so confused why the CT4V didn't get the Camaros NA V8. It just seems like a better fit than this turbo 6, on a side note the interior of both cars is pretty bad for the price. Not sure why Cadillac has been making cars for so long and still can't make a luxury car interior with decent materials.

6.2 L seems big for a V8. BMW could do a V12 in 5L with Merc just needing 6L and that also was biturbo... capacity tends to add weight which dulls response. I'd also be a little miffed if I had to option the carbon fibre discs to get the braking I needed for the CT-5. I just cannot understand why Cadillac does not sell these in Europe vs the Germans at a realistic price and it would sell like gangbusters. The problem is they would only offer the fully loaded versions at a price that makes it very close to the Germans and then wonder why it didn't sell. Do what the Germans do, offer it as a basic and make the money on the options.

Those cars have 10.9 cubic feet or 308 liters and 11.9 cubic feet or 336 liters of trunk or boot space respectively. Those are the typical FAKE GOURMET sedan, those that comes ready to be swallowed by an SUV. In the ranking of decent sedans (TOP 500 SEDANS) with a trunk capacity above 500 liters or 17.6 cubic feet they does not enter. The trunk of those cars are smaller than the trunk of the Renault Megane, a HATCHBACK sold in Australia which has a trunk of 434 liters or 15.3 cubic feet of capacity or Kia Cerato GT, a HATCHBACK which has a trunk of 428 liters or 15.1 cubic feet of capacity. That is, they have a mediocre trunk smaller than hatchback cars. Those are two disappointing sedans.

So in a review of sport sedans you wrote a diatribe about trunk size in comparison to SUVs??? Believe me, these cars ARE NOT for you. Please move on and let enthusiasts enjoy a practical sports car.
@avaliacarros77392 жыл бұрын
@@rdollie1 Sedans are basically family cars, so they have 4 doors and must have a reasonable luggage compartment. That's why sedans with less than 500 liters of trunk capacity are disappearing from the market and giving way to damn SUVs. Just don't see that who doesn't want to. The best-selling car in the world (more than 50 million units) is a sedan that has a trunk capacity of 470 liters and goes by the name of Toyota Corolla. Any sedan with less trunk capacity than that (and sports sedans are also included here) are doomed to extinction like these two examples shown in the video that are in contact with the days since GM has already announced that it will only sell electric vehicles at from 2025. So, enjoy your copies of CT4 and CT5 because it will run out tomorrow. Want sports cars that don't need to have big trunks? Buy a Coupe like the Ford Mustang or Chevrolet Camaro

If you’re here to fixate on trunk space, then go buy your Toyota Corolla or Euro spec Audi wagon and have fun with one of those. Cadillac could stuff a full size tire in the trunk & I still wouldn’t care; neither would many of my fellow performamce enthusiasts. You’re fixation is odd & misaligned. You need to be shopping for a crossover. Here in the USA; many families own a truck for hauling stuff. I have a Ford F-150 & ordered the 4V … the trunk size such a non factor that most North American reviewers gloss over that detail.

@@krasnaludek298 Well, it turns out that it is a worldwide phenomenon that SEDANS with a trunk smaller than 500 liters are destined to be replaced by SUVs. Those Cadillacs will soon be replaced by sleepy SUVs or boring electric cars.
