Is the 2023 Ford- F-250 Super Duty XLT a new truck WORTH the price?

People in other countries don't get to have trucks like this. Truly a monster. How many people need to tow 40k lbs? That's a lot of stuff. 8000 lbs weight and this isn't even the F-350 or 450. Truly trucks have grown so much in capability that they are approaching big rig power. Nice fat tires. These things last a long time. The F series is Ford's key product, and they have been paying attention to what people need and want.

Because of trailer applications you'll never tow more than $14,000 pounds with a 3/4 ton that sounds like a lot but it really ain't. Couple horses and a small horse trailer you're sitting at 6 to 7,000 lb. A half ton could technically pull that. The problem you are going to have is that you'll overwhelm your tow rig. You always want to have a truck that is overkill for the towing. You have a bigger engine bigger brakes heavier truck for stability. You're going to be a lot safer. You want your tow rig to pull it like a rag doll, because then you know that your tow rig can overcome any forces from the equipment you are hauling.

40k is not the capability of this particular truck, a regular cab f350 (or 450?) dually is what's required for that capacity ✊🏻🇺🇸🦅

Yeah this truck I believe with the diesel can tow up to 18,000lbs or 20,000lbs. I can't remember. What is really nice is the payload of the f250, Lots of people sleep on the payload. Lots of people don't realize that their half ton pickups might be able to TOW a trailer but on a really heavy trailer they are pushing it with hitch weight, which is where having a 3/4 ton truck really comes in handy.

Honestly the best value trim is the STX. you get blacked out trim, body color bumpers, rear parking sensors, 360 degree camera package, upgraded wheels and a few other things for under $60K

Until the manufacturers realize they are well above the affordability ceiling, these trucks will sit. Can’t feel sorry for them or the dealers as they have been gouging us consumers since Covid and are still using that as an excuse as to why prices are high.

F450 can Tow almost 60,000 I went to a dealership a few weeks ago test drove one with a 5th wheel equipment package so Joe is right it can Tow 40,000 with a Gooseneck Package Equipment . You ask your local dealer for the proof

I don't have a new 2023 model I was guessing a estimate as a figure of speech my 2021 F450 can Tow about 35,000lbs I surely don't have that 6.7L H.O that has 1200lb of Tourque that for Sure she good for 2 years old. I only used it for hauling my Classic 1971 Ford Thunderbird 4 Door (Suicide Doors) with a 429 SC JET V8 no rust after retirement of my 1985 Ford F350Lariat had for 35 years

I think ram and Ford are the best trucks I have on both, but they’re so darn expensive these days for a truck they are nice, I have a new ram 1 ton I love the truck but I’m so scared to put a scratch in it and I use it for work But these trucks are getting close to $100,000 in the base models are getting close to $80,000 it’s totally insane, I try to keep my trucks for about four or five years and then I get a new one so it’s under warranty I wish they could build a work truck that has airbags adjustable electric mirrors that move in and out for towing easy to clean interior etc. etc. at an affordable price it’s really getting out of hand, how can the average hard-working guy afford these trucks? This is a nice looking truck for sure! I love the blacked out look and the rims are sweet(although tire size def needs an increase - 35", 37"?). XLT is a good value truck. Adding Tremor package would help it look better also. Very nice truck. I'm considering buying a similar spec to haul a truck bed camper, except I'd get the 7.3. The powerstroke is absurdly overpriced and totally unnecessary for my needs. Truth is 99% of non-commercial superduty buyers don't need the diesel, but that doesn't stop a lot of them from blowing $12k on it. Great review!

The crazy part is the high output version is 500hp and 1200ft-lbs even, and the '25 models are going up again. Iirc the regular output is gonna be what the HO is now, and the HO is going up to 550 & 1300(or maybe 1350?), it's getting really crazy how much power is coming out of these things! Diesel is king for that reason! Ford did a good job on this Scorpion engine after learning what not to do from the 6.4. 😆🤣🤦🏻‍♂️🛢️🛠️🔧🔩 ✊🏻🇺🇸🦅🇺🇸✊🏻

That's not a base XLT. A lot of the stuff not available on the base XLT. It's got over $6300 in options. The headlights, the 12" sync are all not on the base.

Pretty sad that the big 3 are selling trucks at such high prices. Wait until it needs to be fixed. An oil pan gasket (20ish dollars) replacement requires half the truck be disassembled to the tune of 5K. Sad but true! The Godzilla has lifter issues leading to catastrophic engine failure. Keep your service log guys! Ford is my go to brand, but I'm really turned off by what I hear/see/read regarding recalls AND I'd pay 76K. In my opinion, it's not worth the price or the hassle to buy a new truck.
