Hey sorry has been missed off, but the Civic averaged 5.9L/100km. Definitely lighter on fuel than the heavier Cross. Will need a Corolla sedan/hatch 2.0L to compare like with like as soon as we can. Cheers 👊

I love the Civics design! It’s fantastic! I‘ve never driven one but I’m not sure if you get the same relaxed feeling you have while driving a Corolla. Ok, the sound during acceleration might be annoying but most of the time you won’t accelerate that much because the goal is reducing consumption. The Civic sounds much more sporty and always „ready to jump“… like a sports car.

The Civic has a lot of Road noise. Is the only thing that made me not buy it.

Hey Georges. It could be a bit quieter agreed.

Hey yep got the cross in there. Wanted to compare the 2.0L engines. As soon as we get our hands on a 2.0L Corolla we will get up a comparison. 👍

I thought the corolla hybrid had a 1.8L engine.

The Honda Civic e:HEV uses direct fuel injection technology, so carbon builds up over years. Toyota uses its blended approach of port and direct fuel injection, so the system offers the best of both worlds while avoiding carbon buildup. And because the battery is used much more in the Honda Civic e:HEV, it also wears out much faster than the Toyota Corolla. All this together over a few years you will have higher maintenance costs and / or repair costs of the Honda.
