Is The 2024 Toyota Corolla Cross Hybrid Killing The RAV4 Hybrid Sales?

The problem is you can't get either hybrid - the wait times are way too long on the west coast. A friend of mine wanted to get a Corolla Cross Hybrid but was told the wait time was well over a year. The RAV4 Hybrid is too big for his needs. So instead he's waiting for the Honda Civic Hybrid. Not sure it will work - sits too low. I'm encouraging him to put down a deposit for the Corolla Cross Hybrid and see if one might come in quicker.

I’m no expert and I’m not sure that I could follow my own advice, but you could look into buying one in another part of the country. If this person needs a vehicle so badly it beats buying a vehicle that won’t work for them.

We ordered a Corolla Cross Hybrid in August of 23 here on the West Coast. We were told 8 months wait. That’s April/May 24 This is Sept 16 and we were told at least 3 more months. We are holding our order for now to see what 2025 changes bring, but have our eye on a few others just in case

The gas RAV4 gets great mpg. The RAV4 is much safer in a crash since it rides on the large car platform. With the small price difference and better resale get a RAV4.

WHAT'S KILLING RAV4 HYBRID IS THE FACT THAT THE TOYOTA CROSS HYBRID IS THE PRICE OF WHAT THE RAV4 USED TO SELL FOR. THE RAV4 HAS GOTTEN VERY EXPENSIVE AND HAS LIMITED AVAILABILITY IN SOME MARKETS.

You mentioned a couple badges changing in 2025, and two color options being removed... Any positive changes coming? The Corolla is getting a 10.5 inch screen, will the cross xse as well? Any new colors being added to replace the two being removed?

For Canada, the Corolla Cross hybrid is really attractive. Come with standard TPMS, RSA work in canada and more refine and work really well TSS 3.0 where our Canadian winter road is get cut line and line disappear often and it able to predict and keep the car straight. the TSS 2.5 of RAV4 is like a joke. the only RAV4 is better is more small storage, back space, spare tire and better back up camera, less road noise but have wind noise. source: I own the Corolla Cross Hybrid for 3 month in winter time and also drive RAV4.

Not in the UK, unfortunately Toyota decided we can’t have the Corolla Cross because they’re pushing the CH-R. I still think the RAV4 is better than either of them though.

Single senior. CC 24 AWD hybrid has same cargo space with seats down as Rav 4. Hyper miling get 85+MPG local, 56-8 highway, 38 freeway 70 MPH. @2k engine run time between oil changes, will double after warranty. Glad to see that baby poop color going away. Who's idea was that?

I ordered mine the XSE trim in june 2024 and I will have around 24 November 202 in blue Celestite. I think a new trim will could be offered.

No, it is over overpriced and much smaller than the rav. But similar to the Rav it has a cheaply made interior.

Spent about a month or two early in the Spring, and got a 2024 Venza Ltd, couldn’t be happier. Didn’t even bother to lineup for a Rav 4.

The Venza is a beautiful SUV. Very close to Lexus quality styling, ride quality, and interior. Too bad this is the last year of production.

I have a RAV4 Hybrid XSE, still way better than the Corolla Corolla Hybrid XSE, 23 more horse power, and rear wheels have 54 HP, the Corolla Cross Hybrid rear wheels have 41HP, lot more cargo space, nicer interior, larger display. Panoramic sunroof, 360 degree camera, digital review mirror, all 4 doors smart key operations are NOT available on the Corolla Cross XSE. Also the JBL stereo in the RAV4 has 11 speckers, the Corolla Cross's JBL stereo has only 9 speakers. In AWD model, RAV4 Hybrid is a much better performer than the Corolla Cross Hybrid. The Corolla Cross Hybrid does offer more MPG than the RAV4 Hybrid due to smaller engine.

The 0-100 kmh is the same 7.x sec. Power to weight ratio is your friend. Dont care about moonroof and 360 camera unless it saves a kid or dog from getting hit but most don't have that. What I do is look around outside before I get in to reverse so I know a child, dog, human isn't going to suddenly appear. I bet most ppl don't do this and rely on backup camera only. I don't listen to loud music so don't care about JBL bs.

Got our 2023 Cross Hybrid, SE a few weeks ago. Saw ad in kijiji, at same dealer where we had deposit on Rav 4(still a year away). Used,, 14,000 kms., Price is still sinful, but...., In reality, when our hunt for hybrid began, we were told that it will be 2 yrs wait. So, within 2 days we bought it, sold our 2015 Jetta TDI and drove back to lake. Been back and forth a few times, and mileage is: 55 on highway and 61 in city. Not 63 combined like our Jetta, but close. And here in Canada the gas is about 15 cents/litre cheaper than diesel. Very very pleased with car overall, except for the freekin' Star Wars sound that you hear when backing up to alert people that the car is moving-when in hybrid mode. Oh also, the horn is kind of embarrassing, would sound ok on a golf cart I guess.

More than 1 year wait for most in Canada unless you know that salesman and he will bump the other orders for you. Meaning your connection will get you higher up the waitlist/queue. F Toyota and the dealers sorry because I've been waiting since last May.

CC is a sub compact crossover and Rav4 is compact crossover, which is one class above. But when you compare 2 equivalently equiped models, like top trim CC and Rav4 XLE premium, OTD price difference is only 3k ish, not 6k-8k range. 1. CC is a bit overpriced, about 2-3k 2. Rav4 will get a hefty price increase for the new 2026 model. Then Toyota won't have 2 classes of crossovers within its own product line competing with themselves. Cars are getting expensive. A base trim ICE CRV AWD with steel rim and plastic covers will cost 44k, same as Rav4 hybrid LE. Rav4 hybrid LE is a better buy.
