It's more integrated than many others. The whole dash swoops around the lower half to basically cradle it. It actually makes the tablet style screen more palatable.

I think it's about time time to stop zonking the rear wiper. 99% of vehicles have it there, and for good reason. Having it on the bottom of the window allows for better wider visibility during and after wiping. I do wish, however, that all manufacturers get the digital rear view mirror as standard equipment acrossthe board. Then it would be a moot point, tuck the wiper up top all day.

Another great review Joe- Lori did a great job keeping those extras in the background outside of the camera view. I know it's the show but I just want to zonk those guys from video. You really have the hookup at least- you're inside the car, they're not which made the video even better- back to 1-1 with the viewers. As far as EV's, this is truly defeating the purpose of trying to get one behind a normal family as only those in the upper middle class or richer can afford something like this who probably don't give a crap about the environment- and will be just adding this to their 5 car garage back at home. Tesla said they were going to bring affordable EV's under the 40Ks but we all know that's not happening now or anytime soon. I've been currently waiting for a Lexus RX500H to show-up from the factory ever since the beginning of November. With the people already in front of on the waitlist, it seems that I may not even get a car anytime within the next 3-4 months. The feeling and wait is hopeless. By the time the vehicle arrives, it will be only months from the 2024 model release. I'm also starting to consider other equivalent models although they have not so-stellar MPG's vs. this RX500. With the economy and dealerships jacking-up prices way over MSRP, it seems like 2023 and maybe 2024 is a lost year for vehicle purchases and the question will be- is buying a car the traditional way ever going to recover or is everyone going to be buying directly online and be waiting on the reservation list.

JJ ~ I put my deposit down for the new 2023 EV YUGO - it runs on 500 D cell batteries that you have to buy yourself & insert into very awkward compartments, it has a range of 5 miles & gets up to 8 mph, but it's an EV so I will finally be cool, lol. tony

Can someone tell me why all Volvo EVs have a fixed sunroof with no sliding shade either? C40 is like this too. That's a deal breaker for me. Their gas vehicles have operational sunroofs with sliding roof shades.

Agree with you 100%. In a sunny country like Greece this will be an issue for those hot summer months. I think they are going to offer a shade which however you have to put on by yourself and which to remove you have to take out manually, i.e there will be no automatic slide function.

The thing that's really bothering me about most EVs is that the infotainment screen and gauge cluster aren't integrated into the dashboard and appear as if the manufacturer just stuck them on there with glue. It makes it look cheap in what is otherwise a nice interior in my eyes. I get they're going for the minimalist approach, but they could at least make it look better. But I absolutely love the design of the EX90. It shows that an EV doesn't have to look like an egg or a blob to look good. I get the reason why some EVs are shaped that way is due to aerodynamic efficiency. Still, I personally want an attractive-looking vehicle if it means sacrificing a few miles. I genuinely don't see people going on long road trips in EVs regardless of how many miles an EV can go on a single charge.

Integrated would be too bulky in this car. This is clean. I don't think it looks cheap. What's behind the screens look great. And since cars need to have screens, might as well just make them accessible in case they need replacing. Hopefully the screen craze will go away one day.

If you find the Polestar 3 there you'll see a lot of the same things. Same console, same types of materials. There are a few differences but the amount of Volvo in Polestars is noticeable. I wish Volvo had another car to show. The backing on the dashboard is wood that's backlit illuminated. It's a very Scandinavian interior and could be classified as minimalist. The exterior is rather conservative, though. Volvo was in need of introducing an all-new car and we finally get it but don't see it on the road until next year.

It looks like they have taken the best features of Tesla and made things better. Volvo are famous for their build quality - Tesla is not. But as someone who owned a Model X which easily and safely handles Swedish winters, and now owns a Mach-E which is nothing short of Bambi on ice (yea, it’s flat-out dangerous, even with studded tyres), the acid test would be how this Volvo performs on snow and ice. I’m expecting great things from this EX90… and I hope to get a test drive of it when it’s available. Note… their luxury brand (Polestar) is commonly referred to as the unicorn car here… getting a test drive of one is pretty difficult, mainly because they literally don’t have that many test centres. I hope they don’t make the same mistake with this one.
