the video isn't bad however I would recommend you use some graphics to support the things you say. Footage is nice but having footage throughout the video is just not necessary. But having a neat little table helping to visualize the things you say would be great. For example listing prices and range, advantages and disadvantages of each plane. Because all I hear is numbers which makes it hard to follow the pros and cons of each aircraft. The difference between A350 and A330 is one number and once I get to the point where you name the price or range of the A330 I've already forgotten the range of the A350 or the price. It's just too much to handle if I don't want to spend the time of watching this video serveral times. Just as a hint for the future :)

A330 Neo + A350 could easily operate side by side. Many airlines operate 767 + 777s, and A330s + 777s. With the A350 being a good 777 replacement, Airbus would do airlines a good combo deal to keep them away from the 787 camp. Great video, keep up the good work.

Airlines should make a 787 & A350 combo which are both best in class with superior efficiency and comfort to other aircraft, A350 is a good replacement for 777 family and 787 is a good one for the A330 family.

I think that the A330neo is more of a Middle of the Market sort of plane. That operates low demand long haul flights or short haul flights with high demand. The A350 is more of a Traditional long haul plane that has a long range and can carry a high number of passengers.

After reading the comments here, i rest assured we did a great bargain considering our country is the western most part of Africa on the Atlantic ocean, 6hr from Europe, 6hr from America and around 7hr from Asia...Air Senegal is the 2nd customer for the AIRBUS' newest bird after TAP Portugal, and the 1st and only in all Africa so far to operate the NEO... We purchased 2 new ATRs, prior to this, for the regional and domestic market , and counting. Things are getting better around here, and by the way, Senegal is also the launch customer worldwide for the newest military jet trainer of tcheque's WODOOCHY, with 4 new L39NG for our millitary pilot training school...Wish us good luck.!!

A330-900neo for domestic and small/mid range routes (up to 9 hours flying time) with no real competitor from Boeing; and A350-900 for long-haul (8-14 hours flying time), competes with B787-10. A330-800neo for "slim and long" routes (8-14 hours) with 250-ish pax, and a competitor to B787-8. A350-1000 is a B777-300ER competitor, and intended to replace A340-600 fleets. This makes the B787-9 a truly peerless plane. It has the capacity of an A330-900neo, but with the range of an A350-900, while being priced in-between them.

At first kudos to you for making an such an interesting video! I think both variants are very different between each other, the A350-900 and -1000 are intended (especially the latter one) to compete against the very successful B777-300ER and the 777-200ER. As well as an replacement for all A340-600's, whilst the A330Neo is the in house replacement for their A330's and A340-300's as well as a direct competitor to the 787-8. In the end airlines tend to order aircrafts that suits their current fleet and I think both variants a very interesting for future orders from various carriers.

Speedbird Shorter wings are better for shorter so 787 could actually better for shorter routes despite being optimised for range comparable to a350-900
@nntflow70586 жыл бұрын
On Shorter routes, around 3000-4000nm. A330-900neo would perform better in terms of fuel efficiency. Using A350-900/-1000 on 3000-4000nm routes wouldn't be that economical. It's mainly the wings design and the empty weight of the A350 that made it "a horrible" choice for shorter flights. Sames goes for B787-8/-9. Hence why many airlines still bought A330-300 or A330-900neo even though B787-8/-9 is around. On extremely short regional flights bellow 3000nm, B787-9 would actually be way worse compared to A330-300. Yes, the old A330-300 is better at shorter routes compared to the new B787-9.

My advice to Airbus: Never blow money on a brand-new aircraft that has more or less the same purpose as other, existing aircraft. Just reengine them. Result? Profit!
@pasoundman6 жыл бұрын
No joke here but in truth the answer is BOTH depending on the route. To understand why you have to look at the history of the A350's development and several other factors, namely ETOPS, advanced engine developments, the issue over hub/spoke operation and direct point to point flights and the increasing use of (lighter) composite materials in airframes. Firstly, ETOPS is now so well advanced that SOME twin engined aircraft can fly for up to 6 hours under ETOPS i.e. over water before needing a diversion airport for emergencies.That means that MOST routes can be flown ETOPS. Secondly, modern engines may be around 15% more fuel efficient than their predecessors due to a number of technical advances. Thirdly the change in operations to increased point to point direct flights increases the need for medium high capacity long haul aircraft. Lastly, it needs a new plane design to make best use of composites. Long ago, Airbus were approached with an interest in a new aircraft of A330 class with enhanced range. They initially offered a new A330 version but it wasn't widely liked. Eventually they were persuaded to make the A350, a totally new aircraft. Designed for long haul with medium to largish capacity it looks to be a winner. Airbus didn't forget the A330 though and, borrowing some 5% of parts designed for both the A380 and A350, plus more efficient engines they were able to create the A330neo at a bargain price, about 25% less than the 'equivalent' A350 but with more limited range. So the A330neo will attract medium haul operators and the A350XWB, longer haul operators. Take your pick. Airbus really pulled a rabbit out of the hat here. Together with their now majority interest in the Bombardier C-series programme, they have a really attractive product line. Now consider the remaining quad jets that are selling slowly, the A380 and the B747-8.

Loving this series! I think the A330-900neo is a great alternative basically for all current A330 operators that don't need the A359's range and capacity. The future of the A330-800neo doesn’t look as bright though. It is too much airplane for transatlantic ops and many airlines that need a range similar to -800neo's have already ordered 787s & A350s.
@decapitanfluffy96346 жыл бұрын
The reason why Airlines you said "stay loyal" is not because they love the airplane. It is actually a logical choice to make. It decreases the cost of training pilots as well as employees with working a certain type of plane. It also decreases the human error as well as time. Time is money after all. For example A330, it would be a logical choice to opt for the A350 or A330neo. Since it will replace the current existing routes of the old A330(what im saying is range will not be a problem). As well as capacity isn't a problem, plus the A350 they say has "airbus commonality" in the cockpit so it is easy to learn. There will always be empty seats and it won't be guaranteed for an Airplane to fill up all the time.(Hence this is why they schedule the flights cautiously, for example the frequent amount of flights per week(talking about roundtrips as well.) It is to ensure that the plane isn't losing money(saves fuel costs). When they say that a plane that isn't flying is losing money, thats not true since you have to consider the fact about how many passengers as well as fuel and maintenance costs. It also decreases the wear rate of the plane(saving maintenance costs. However this isn't always the case)

This is the actual difference between A330 vs A350. Domestic routes(low to mid range) vs Long haul(mid to high range) routes. not-apparently-not-domestic. If you put a A330 do long haul it will probably burn more fuel per seat than a A350 and vise versa.

Congrats on the quick growth of your channel. People love aviation and you've presented it very well. That said, I'm a Boeing fan, and while I do like all aircraft, I would most certainly (for my non-existent, hypothetical airline) Have a fleet of 789's and (upcoming) 778's for my ultra long haul routes and 7810's and 779's on my medium and long haul routes. I especially dislike the A350 and think that it is little more than a marketing gimmick to call it XWB (Extra Wide Body.) I would take a current generation 77W instead, which is the true wider body, and still with enough range to cover more than 90% of long haul routes that exist today. I'd also be concerned with now all new Airbus wide body aircraft to only have RR as an engine choice. Great video, friend!

Its the same story as it was when both the Boeing 767-300ER and the Boeing 777 was in production at the same time. Even though they operate in what looks like the same market segment (long haul 250+ seats) they are in fact different. The 777 is better at flying those really long haul flights while the 767 is better at doing jumps across the pond (Atlantic Ocean). Yes it has the capacity to fly longer than that, but its not as good for that as the 777. Same goes for the new A330Neo. I think it will be better at doing flight across the Atlantic and the airlines doing charter like Thomas Cook or the Tui group will sure love it too. But doing really long distance flights? No, the A350 is better for that I think. Airlines will probably have a totally different view of it all, but thats my thoughts anyway...

@thesamshk6 жыл бұрын
The a330 neo will maybe even kill the a350 program in my opinion. Firstly many airlines already fly the classic a330, which makes them loyal to the a330 family. Secondly the a350 program is new and untested, thus making a few airlines probably sceptical, where as the a330neo is the more advanced remake of the good ol' plane they've been already flying for many years.
@DjsAviation6 жыл бұрын

Both planes were made for different purposes. A330neo came out a bit too late (made to compete with the Dreamliner) and the Dreamliner is by far ahead. But a330 is a med-long haul plane while the a350 a long haul flight aircraft. Same with the 777 which is a super twin jet made for extremely long haul flights. So the a330 will make profit for airlines that want them. Same with The a350. Gr8 vid!

A330neo is a good fit but if an airline would want an all airbus long haul in terms of capacity I would choose A350-900 with 1000 and A330-800 if you please or just A330-900 with A350-1000 to make capacity sense.
@DjsAviation6 жыл бұрын
Long haul suits the A350 more as you mentioned etc with maybe an A330-900 for more shorter routes that are popular.

Hey mate, I know Ethiopian have the A350 but I wasn't going to mention every carrier that had it xD Thanks a lot!

Maybe the A330Neo is coming out a little bit to late! I guess the A330 Neo is interesting for low cost airlines. And for services where a long range isn't required. Could turn out very well for TAP on flights to North and South America!
@DjsAviation6 жыл бұрын
Quite possibly it is. Thanks for watching!
@nntflow70586 жыл бұрын
The main reason why A330neo comes up late is because the older A330-300 is actually extremely fuel efficient and airlines keep ordering it even in 2017, the big order are consistent, in 2017 they have 49 order for the -300 alone. On shorter routes, A330-300 is actually more fuel efficient compared to B787-9. A330neo is only there because airlines suddenly have the change of heart about A330-300. Most operators of A330ceo or A330neo is Full service airlines btw.
@aviationloverexpert74356 жыл бұрын
NNT Flow I thoughy that shorter wings are better for shorter routes (the a330neo has bigger wings than 787). Last year the 777 made a comeback after only 17 orders were received as demand for wide bodies was slowing. The 787-10 according to Boeing is nearly 30% more efficient than a330-300 and claims 10% better than the a350-900. While the a350-900 has the longer range it's big wing is better suited for long haul while competitor 787-10 os more efficient on 6000 to 6500nmi routes (it's range)
@ernestosalinas82316 жыл бұрын
Personally, the A-330 NEO looks like a very good option for any Airline.
@davidtjahjadi50796 жыл бұрын
The a330 neo will be competing with the 787... And to be precised it will be competing with 787-10. They almost have the same range, but the 787-10 can hold much more passengers. So again those airlines that require more capacity will go for 787-10, airlines that don't need the high capacity will go for the neo. Airbus fuselage/ underside belly is so huge that they protrude tremendously, even the 777-300er's are not that huge...
@DjsAviation6 жыл бұрын
I wouldn't have thought the 787-10 but that's certainly an interesting comparison for sure.

Still none the wiser, although A350 may have potential for a larger three class variants on some routes, a 1100 model if you will.

had to watch the video 4 times to understand numbers! can you use graphics when u are talking in number, for the rest, it's an awesome video! really enjoyed it.......good job bro! A330 looks beautiful than the A350! but i always have an issue with airbus aircraft, except the A330,on the design of their Nose gear placement! they look misplaced and wired to me!

What's with the black paint around the cockpit windows!! It looks nice on the A350 but not on the A330neo. Great video!!

There's some explanation about this with material expanding en contracting due to temperature differences... Their main function however is making airbusses look more 'airbussy'

Hey Dj! I just want to know what your opinion on the Boeing 727's that are still in service are. :D Do you agree with a number of 727's being charter aircraft or do you think they should all be retired?
@DjsAviation6 жыл бұрын
Hey man! I would love for them to remain personally as charter aircraft as they look superb! Unfortunately, I've never seen one before so If I could see one before they retire I'd be very happy :) What are your thoughts?

The last one used by donald trump
@nicolas5555396 жыл бұрын
I think the ones that are still around will stick for quite a long time. In North America there are still a number of 727's that are used for private flights, mostly from commercial operators retiring the specific 727-100's from their fleets in the early 90s. As you can imagine now, 722's have also mostly been retired and picked up for private use. Also, a notable example of a 727 that visits my area from time to time is a modified 727-200F that is used for people to experience zero gravity environments. I didn't mention any cargo carriers since that'd be a given, I think. But overall I don't think the 727 will go extinct anytime soon :)

A350-1000 has more powerful engines that the -900 but 787-9 and -10 have same engines.
@DjsAviation6 жыл бұрын
That's awesome!
@aviationloverexpert74356 жыл бұрын
Ben Godenrath The engines actually have better power on the 787-10 over the -9. Otherwise Emirates wouldn't have ordered it because Tim Clarke believed it could not meet MTOW with the thrust of the -9.

Actually, the A350XWB-900 serves this purpose: as a replacement for the 777-200ER's that were built in between 1997 and 2003. Indeed, that's what Singapore Airlines is doing right now. Lufthansa is buying the A350XWB-900 to replace the A340-300 and A340-600 fleets on many long routes.
@DjsAviation6 жыл бұрын
I never intended to say it didn't serve a purpose :-) Lufthansa have done well by getting the A350 in my eyes
@Sacto16546 жыл бұрын
Lufthansa needed to get the A350XWB-900 because their A340-300 fleet--the largest of any airline--was rapidly aging and needed a replacement.

In my country, the national aviation - Vietnam Airlines has 10 Airbus A350-900 XWB aircrafts and 11 Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircrafts.
@jlust66606 жыл бұрын
Seems kinda contradictory to make a330-200's fly domestic, they have a bigger range than the -300. As far as I know, most -200 operators use them more on international routes than domestic. If airlines want fuelefficient airplanes in with that range, the a350 seems a better option. Even though they are more expensive, they seem like a better long-term investment.
