Great review thanks I have both bikes and a 2017 Multistrada 1200s and a few others My go to bike is the K1300s. It’s the best bike I’ve ever owned. Not great on tight twisties but it’s a great mile muncher and so fast and stable. I’m actually going to buy a really low mileage k1300s and put it away whilst they are still reasonably priced Great review keep up the good work

Nice sensible review. That takes me back, I had a blue and silver 2001 (Y reg) from new ....... probably one of the best bikes I've ever owned. Lots of power (175 Bhp at the crank, claimed) but so easy to ride sensibly and not that bad in town, either. Traded it in, in 2008, for a ZZR1400 which was also another stunning bike with 198 Bhp (claimed) but I always thought that the Hayabusa had slightly better handling. All that power is a great talking point down the pub but, to be honest, in the seven years of ownership I never reached it's limits but still a gorgeous looking machine (IMO) More reviews like this would be welcome but I still love the old Classics, like that Commando in one of your other videos. It's worth noting that I'd only been back on bikes for 18 months (since my teens) when I bought the Hayabusa, at the tender age of 45 ....... a born again biker and still alive ......... thus far 🤔By the way, lemon drizzle cake is ok but you can't beat a chunk of homemade bread pudding. All the best Phil

Spot on review of the K1300s. Exactly matches my impressions, as an owner. Was nice seeing how a 'Busa compares ; ) First time watching your channel and wouldn't have guessed you catered to "classic" bikes, as you seemed right in your wheelhouse, on these semi-modern cruise missiles. Hopefully you continue this trend.

Great comparison in real world conditions. I'm used to slower 70's bikes with NO brakes ( R100RT, CX500 and MZ TS250) and am not used to too much power so imagine my amazement with my new addition to the stable , a '95 VFR 750......that seems to do everything fast on tickover and only 100hp so 180hp boggles the mind. Keep your excellent comparisons coming. Thank you.

These are not new bikes anymore so they fit in with what you normally do. Tried the gen 1 Busa about 20 years ago, was not too impressed but that was mostly because I chose the wrong road. It was too twisty so the bike was too long to work properly there. My bike at the time was a slightly pepped VFR that made 113hp at the back wheel so I was used to power, still that aspect of the Busa impressed me. Could not go wild on normal roads but could not help but notice how powerfull it really was. Nice vid!

I have a 2012 GSX650F which I really enjoy riding although, at 69 years of age I am starting to find it a bit heavy to manhandle in the garage. Out on the road I don't notice the weight and it feels well planted. Would be interested in your opinion of this bike. If it's bikes (road bikes anyway) I'm interested, so vintage, classic, moderns ... I'm in. I wish your review had some commentary comparing different feel between Busa's standard forks and the K's duolever, and the same for the final drive, shaft vs chain. Maybe there isn't much difference, since it didn't provoke you to reflect on them. In any case, thanks for the video. ✌

yes you are right trouble is I have done thousands of miles on the two “funny” front ends and I am used to them so didnt think to mention in detail The closest I can say is the front ends are massively confidence inspiring to about 95% then they dont give you that final bit of feel ( I know because I have two plates and 9 screws in my ankle from a trackday on a GS) But on the road not pushed to the limit they are superb you can trail brake right to the apex Shaft w chain not a massive difference in feel tbh

It's done a lot of 1000km days and it's really good everyday bike. The brakes could be better but they seemed OK 20 years ago... It's not a bad bike, BUT it's a letdown from what BMW promises and what it delivers (especially the K12s which is positively riddled with problems). Honestly, Hayabusa is MUCH better than it. Also 'Busa was made for one thing and one thing only: go fast. K1300S doesn't come close to the Busa in speed OR LOOKS OR COOLNESS, especially the pre-2000 Busa. K13 is a touring bike that's a bit, kinda, somewhat sportish (too fat, too tall, too touringy and too heavy to actually be sporty) and not made to go 300kmh or more. And that's all ignoring the fact that the Bus was wholly designed in the wind tunnel with the goal of max speed and min wind drag. And this is coming from a K12S owner.
@blueyondermoto
@blueyondermoto Жыл бұрын
Hi Mike, I owned a new K13 in 2014 (only kept it a year) I just couldn't get on with it. Hated the slow steering (only worked for me on motorway and fast A roads) no steering lock to speak of, way too heavy and the engine drank oil for fun. Swapped it for an S1000R which I enjoyed far more. Most disappointing BMW I've owned.

@@blueyondermoto my experience was quite the opposite 😐 I put 57,000 miles on mine and still am surprised at what that bike was capable of 😎 I don’t compare it to my R1 or my GS but it was an amazing experience 😎

Great looking bike the K1300S, huge power and a decent tourer, just a shame it's such an unreliable bike! just like the K1200S (and R) lovely to look at, but blimey are they forever breaking something! ABS/ESA/FUEL SENSORS/REAR HUBS the list goes on (and these are the "common problems") so maybe the Busa is a better choice? will probably retain it's value better too 😁

Did you read that info somewhere or have actual experience of it being unreliable? Ive had one for 2 years without a single issue!!!

@@twowheelstouring482 These issues are very documented, I have had the K1200 and pretty much all the common issues that go along with those, And I was considering the K1300 as I had heard they addressed all these issues on the updated bike, but then chatting on the forum and FB pages.... it seems the 1300 is also full of similar "common problems" and with BMW charging £100+VAT per hour just in labour costs, it's just soo bloody expensive when they do start to go wrong! there is a reason that the K1200 used go for around £2.5k now, and even the K1300 can be had for around £4k, amazing bikes with crazy power and awesome tech - but when they go wrong.......
