The carnivore diet has gained popularity due to its numerous benefits. It is gluten-free, sugar-free, and low in FODMAPs, oxalates, and plant lectins. It is also lower in mold and mycotoxins, free of seed oils and ultra-processed foods, and has a higher protein content.
In contrast, the US government's dietary recommendations include vegetables, fruits, grains, low-fat dairy, lean meats, beans, nuts, seeds, and oils. However, these recommendations often include ultra-processed foods, which have been linked to adverse health outcomes.
A recent meta-analysis showed that higher consumption of ultra-processed foods is associated with obesity, metabolic syndrome, high blood pressure, type 2 diabetes, and other health issues. The carnivore diet eliminates these ultra-processed foods, making it a healthier option for many people.

I was diagnosed with ME/CFS in 2006 and became so poorly I was bedridden for a few years and housebound for most of my 40' and 50's. Finally discovered ketogenic diet which helped a bit - I was able to stay awake for a few hours in the day and enjoy time with my family. But I struggled to stay in ketosis and lose weight that I had gained at an alarming rate because ME and exercise are a huge no-no. Switched to OMAD carnivore in January 2024. My fatigue and brain fog lifted in weeks and over time all of my joint pains have disappeared. I had had issues with prolapsed lumber discs, knee cartilage problems and Achilles tendonitis since 2000 - those too have healed over the months and I have no pain at all now. Heartburn - gone. Frequent three day migraines - just the odd rare mild one which is fixed in a couple of hours. I no longer burn in the sun and most recently I have discovered that my new hair growth is no longer grey. Not that I particularly care but my original hair colour has returned and I've just turned 65! It's mad! 😂 I'm not going to pretend - there are days I miss cake and I do have the very odd fall off the wagon but I'm straight back up the following day - having lost 4 stone and now being able to be outside with my horses and dogs, do gardening and heavy diy it would be stupid of me not to continue this way of eating. Note - bloodwork done recently. Liver, kidney and thyroid function all perfect. The only thing of concern was my vitamin D levels. They were too high and I was told to reduce my supplements... I'm in Scotland - most of us struggle to maintain our vitamin D levels! 😎☺

@@patrick.771 Think how long it's taken you to have your health problems - including any tht might have occured before your ME/CFS and you'll realise that 8 weeks isn't so long. I wish I could pur a timeline on my recovery but I was 'accidentally' keto for a time and then became more active over avoiding carbs. It wasn't until January 2023 that I made the decision to remove veg and go completely carnivore. I was having all sorts of minor but annoying symtoms which I have only realised have gone recently. I would imagine the healing process continues long after the most obvious symptoms dies down.

Strict carnivore is basically the lion diet. While meat based is whatever comes from an animal, like milk, cream, butter. Variety from ancestral diets like seafood, shellfish, crustaceans, fish, salmon, seal etc. My ancestors ate eel, birds, (there were no cattle, no pigs) freshwater crustaceans (no fish in our rivers) Seaside, whatever was available including shark. There was only one fruit available wild guava, otherwise they carried with them sweet potato seeds and grew it on mass then dry stored. The far north had more plant stock and root's as it was more warmer. Otherwise it was a high meat, omega 3 oil diet, plus starvation=fasting. The idea that at every turn there were eatable plants, nightshades, berries and fruits only happened once England arrived.

I noticed big changes in my mood my energy and just my over all feeling of feeling good instead of bad on day 3-5 and i just keep feeling better and better everyday. I had massive bloating eveytime i ate or even drank something i felt so horrinle all day i never wanted to do anything. I constantly thought about how bad i felt all day long thats all i could really do. My bloating is pretty much gone already and now i can see the differnce in my belly fat versus a constant bloated stomach. Im 6ft tall had most of my weight in my upper legs belly and my hips and ass. I feel so much better now doing carnivore omg im trying to recommend to everybody i know who i think could benefit. I feel amazing on this diet. All i eat is the beef pattys cheese bacon sausage from mc donalds or bugerking a steak from outback hear and there and omlets from dennys. I drink plenty of water with electrolytes oh and i also eat a ft long quiznois mesquite chicken from quiznois on chicken bacon and ranch. I eat it off the bread with a fork. The ranch has some carbs but dont care. Still lost the weight eating this once a week. Also my libido sky rocketed i feel like im 20 again and got the energy to where i feel like i could run around the block. I actually want to start excersize now. My cloths are starting to become to big for me ive down sized shirts from 4× to 3×. I swear on my life this is the best ive felt in 20 years. Im not haveing any problems with my kidneys im pissing perfect no pains in my kidney area or lower back i feel fantastic.

Your ancestors from millions of years ago ate everything they could find to not starve to death. That included plenty of plant-based foods like fruit, vegetation, nuts, seeds, roots and tubers. Would they have preferred more meat in their diets? Yes, because it's the most nutrient-dense food on the planet. But it was not easy to come by back then, particularly given you're talking about "millions of years ago", as our ancestors were quite small then, about 3' tall, and were woefully ill-equipped physically and technologically (weaponry) to either take down animal prey, or fend off larger predators when attempting to scavenge meat. So they were omnivores, like modern-day chimpanzees, and yes, like modern-day humans.

#1 if you haven’t done Carnivore for a extended time like 6 months to a year minimum you SHOULD NOT be talking about it! I have never seen a good food study ever! The meta analysis studies just compound the awful tests involved. 2. Dairy has never been excluded and your mixed up with the Lion diet! I could go on for #15-20. I am 63 and was on 8 medications including 240 mg oxycontin and Xanax. I got off all medications and now I am in retirement years I am no longer completely disabled. I have no medical issues anymore and can do anything I did at 18. No more chronic severe depression. Walk the walk or shut up. I have been eating 180 grams of fat and 140 grams protein minimum a day. Humans only had 15% max came from fruits and vegetables which were nothing like the ones around today like the Fruit. They are GMO- GMO poison. Fruits and vegetables have not been tested for nutrients since 1966 so all the values with the crappy soils are probably 25% of listed minerals and vitamins. Oxalate =Poison. Lastly I did the research for the first intermittent fasting experiment back in 1984 with Kevin Seybold under Dr.Eisman at UWM-Milwaukee , so I attended medical school and know what i am talking about. 70% of these studies are not able to be duplicated with same results! Not science. Mold is so overblown and you think it is so relevant never had a Doctor ever run into it! My Father ran the largest Allergy Clinic in Milwaukee for 35 years and never once ran into mold problems. Mold didn’t start in the last 20 years. It has always been around never caused problems you like to spew.

@paulcallicoat7597
@paulcallicoat7597 15 күн бұрын
Mostly agree with what you wrote but you were wrong with the calorie reference. We are not boilers nor do our bodies operate with calories.The whole premise of calorie in equals calorie out is based in myth. I have tried to over eat on carnivore by eating 3#s of rib eye and it only knocked off my appetite for a couple days. It is a perfect way to prime for an extended fast and didn't result in any weight gain. On your list of elimination diet you forgot to include the poisonous vegetables which are virtually all of them. The sugar habit isn't really a habit but an addiction and includes alcohol as well. I have found out that when the urges come on for anything the best foil to that urge is to eat suet until you suddenly no longer feel that urge. Our body needs to maintain a steady level of blood glucose which will rise in the morning. It is to provide us energy to hunt up some creature that we can eat. The blood glucose level has been calculated to be about 2 teaspoons. Any higher amount of sugar will trigger a dump of insulin to take out the excess as our body needs to keep glucose levels low. Insulin is going to turn that excess sugar into fat and store it on our butts. I wonder why most people aren't 500+ lbs based on what is in their shopping carts at the grocery store. 90% of all grocery store items have wheat in them so going low carb is not easy.If just 25% of people start eating carnivore the whole of society will likely crash. Think of the loss of 25% revenue to the medical and food industries and how that will impact the GDP. These 2 industries provide about 20% to the GDP. Government spending account for almost accounts for 40%. They will lose Trillions of revenue on all the multiple taxes on all this garbage as well.

Check your uric acid levels with a rheumatologist, start taking allopurinol, and gradually step away from your harmful habits, slowly transitioning to a carnivore diet starting from your usual high-carb diet to medium, low, and very low carb, because weight loss and possibly oxalate dumping might be causing such a reaction. It wouldn't hurt to also monitor all your inflammatory parameters in the body. I'm sure if you put your mind to it, you can devise your own protocol to achieve health. Or look for doctors in your area who practice at least keto.

Unsafe for long term! Health impacts from eating only meat As one might expect, carnivores face a whole host of nutrient deficiencies from cutting out all other food groups. Two of the biggest issues are a lack of fibre and carbohydrates, Virjee explained, which can lead to constipation, a common side effect of the diet. Fibre also helps keep our immune systems strong by diversifying our gut microbiome, which can help with digestion. Those eating the highest amount of fiber reduced their risk of dying by 23% compared to those eating the least amount of fiber.
