Is the Dodge Ram SRT-10 Viper Truck a BETTER performance truck than a 2023 RAM TRX?

I had a 2005 SRT10 club cab. It was a great truck that never gave me any problem in 5 years of ownership. The handling was great for a truck and useful as a work truck as it would haul a trailer without even feeling it.

As a proud owner (still today) of a 2004 ram srt-10, this video made me smile and laugh. Your reactions and comments are something I say all the time… yes there are faster ones today but there is just something raw about the truck. I can’t seem to let myself get rid of it. I watch your Videos a lot but this one was special! Thank you.

Yes there’s a couple now of days that are faster. Faster 0 to 60 that is. But you don’t run across them but rarely. However on an open highway they have limiters and they top off around 110/115 or so. Where as the SRT gets them in a mile race let’s say and then keeps on going. I know I have an 05 single cab Yellow Fever addition. For the last several years I owned it It’s never left me down. It surprises many SUV’s even many cars. Trucks? Haven’t run across one yet to this day. That’s a pretty good record of appreciation.

You can see the fuel gage drop every time you tap the throttle 😂. I think people reported to get like 5 miles to the gallon with spirited driving. Makes the hellcat look like a fuel efficient prius.

Mine is supercharged so I see about 5 mpg usually around 12-14 stock is the norm

Just gave my 05 (black) quad cab to a buddy to redo the entire paint. Hood, cabin top and bed cover clear coat was fading. Having a hard time finding the badges. They are faded too. 81k miles on the baby. Best truck ever!

I dusted a Neon SRT 4 with my Integra. All I had was intake, DC headers and a full catback Tanabe G Medallion exhaust. Funny thing was that my car was only a GS. Not even a GS-R. 😂😂😂😂😂. No V-Tec at all. Homeboy thought he can beat me with his turbo srt.

Great video, but I do have to give you a zonk for not mentioning the GMC Syclone when talking about performance pickups. The 1991 Syclone , with a V6, had a 0-60 time of 4.3 seconds which was about a second faster than the Ram SRT-10.

The Viper V10 started out as a truck engine, and it's actully a Magnum 5.9L with 2 cylinders added on to make it a 8.0L V10 and over time it grew to 8.3L. So it was a natural choice for a performance truck.

I remember this truck going for $45 grand brand new, and it didn’t come with the side Viper badge. The side badge everyone got the idea from the “Rumble Bee” edition, which is the one I purchased simply because the truck came in automatic and yellow 🤙.

I mean. I can see that argument. However. The viper was killed off by the demon. So. The super charged 6.2 v8 reigns supreme I guess 😂. And the SRT10 like older vipers was a parts bin special with big motor! Nothing fancy. Pretty much a base model. So I’d say I would much rather prefer a brand new technology filled TRX.
