come over here because of your live stream last night. as a believer (who has finally given up organized church) hearing this just answers all the questions I have had. the scriptures are black and white to me and prophecy people have always left me questioning. I finally had to come to the conclusion that I just needed to live as best for the Lord day by day and not think about these things. (only because there are so many view points that causes confusion , and we know where that comes from) This also answers my question why the Traditional Catholic and Orthodox seem to stay clear on prophecy teaching (which I do not have access to). so I do thank you. know that I am among many who pray for you and yours. seeing this video the story of Joseph came to mind.... I personally don't believe that it was God's will for Andrea but He did allow it. and as with Joseph.... this circumstance God will use for good.

As I write this I have listened to the first 30 mins. (I will finish it). I became interested in preterism when you did your older videos. I listened to the conference that you just attended (Mr. Bell I found too difficult and will have to return to later)and I must say that you are very clear and succinct in your presentation. It takes suspension of what one has “always heard,” willingness to hear and read a variety of people teaching this sometimes, and especially a determination that we in the twenty-first century are not the original audience. I still am near the beginning of studying this but I want you to know that it is directly because of your family that I am on the path to try to understand this. Thank you.

Tom having grown up in a Pastor's home (hubby too), and (both) been through Bible college I would have to disagree. In my opinion, from a Biblical perspective I believe the HOLY SPIRIT is the key element as we look through the lens of Biblical end times. I would encourage viewers to consider that when looking at this question. I am truly sorry for your loss and pray for your family on a daily basis. God bless to you as a brother in Christ.

This is great. That movie, " A Thief in the Night" it scared us so bad. You must have been really young then. I was a teen/ young adult. Every harvest moon we thought we'd got left behind. This makes a lot more sense than the ear candy we've heard our whole life. Being raised Church of God Penecostal, I have a lot to unlearn.

I appreciate your take on this but when the disciples come to him they ask him 3 separate things, when will this happen(referring to destruction of the temple), what is the sign of your coming and finally when is the end of the “age” as you have translated it. Thus Jesus tells him all this things but they don’t all take place in 70 AD. If they do then explain Luke 21:24 where it refers to Jerusalem being trodden down by the Gentiles, until the time of the Gentiles be fulfilled. ... I noticed your focus is on “This Generation shall not pass” but what does he say till this all be fulfilled or in Matt 24 till all these things be fulfilled. Is he referring to what he just said about the events or is he referring to Matt 5:17-18 where he states he did not come to destroy the law but to fulfill it. If everything has happened already then why is there no account of Jesus coming and everyone seeing him. Matt 24:30 says “and then shall ALL the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of Man coming in the clouds of heaven” this refers to everyone on earth not just Jerusalem or the Roman World. I could go further and ask if this was all fulfilled in 70 AD then why is there no recorded account of a rapture event or at least a great mystery of millions of people disappearing or getting caught up into the air. Paul states in 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18 refers to the resurrection of the dead and the Living being caught up in the clouds. In this video you focus on the literal “you” And then say there is symbolism in the Bible. But you pick and choose what is literal and what is symbolic, but is it not written “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding” proverbs 3:5. So when I read the scriptures I don’t rely on what others have said, I ask God to give me the understanding of his word for no man knows the word of God like God, no one can teach it like God can. Remember the Pharisees and Sadducees trusted in their own understanding and missed the fact the Kingdom was in their midst, that the Messiah had arrived. If Jesus returned than when was his 1000 year reign with his Saints? When did the Judgment of the world happen? These are in the book of Revelation If there is no end and we are just meant to live our lives in this world as a trial before we move on to heaven as I believe you are saying, then why does the book of Revelation refer to these things. I saw your other video in regards to Daniel and Revelation and really enjoyed it but had some issues with that also, if Babylon is Jerusalem, and the destruction of her in 70 AD is what is referred to in the book of Revelation than why is she inhabited today for is it not written “Thus with violence the great city of Babylon shall be thrown down, and shall not be found anymore” Rev 18:21. I apologize if any of this is coming out like an attack on you or anything as we have a tendency to take written comments in different ways and I’m not attempting to attack you or anything like that cause you are my Brother in Christ and I do truly appreciate your approach to the word. It’s just in watching this video it left me with all these questions as to well if I as open minded as I am try to follow this thought process for the scriptures it opens more questions but in a confusing way that strips away the hope that Paul gave in reference to the resurrection which Jesus also refers to. Now what if Jesus in The scriptures when referring to all the events was both Referencing the this that will soon take place at the end of that age but also things that will take place before his return which has not happened yet, yes while earth quakes have happened than and still happened today, they happen more frequently in these times all over (divers places Matt 24:7). While there were pestilence in that time how much more and frequently has it happened in the last decade I mean look at us today a world wide pandemic. What if Jesus being God knew that his words would be written down, what if he knew we would read them, and this This generation was meant for the generation of that time and of our time, the time of his coming. I know Jesus knew but I say what if because in this video it’s mentioned that he was only talking to the present audience of that time. What if 1000 years are as a day and a day is as a thousand years(2 Peter 3:8) Than it would make sense that for the last Almost 2000 years after Jesus Ascension that we his believers would say that the end is near because the though for us who are human we barely make it to 70 let alone 100 years of life so people saying it’s the end would be scrutinized but if you understand that it’s almost the end of the second day since Jesus has ascended than you know that yeah this whole time has been almost the end, for he will return on the third day as he did when he resurrected. TerraRyzin 1 I just started watching this video, but I always read comments before watching something like this, so I get a sense of how people are receiving it. Your comment caught my attention because these are my questions as well, and thus far, have not heard a compelling answer. I feel the same about pre-trib explanations...too many unanswered questions, with no scriptures supporting it, at least in my mind. So I'm wondering if you've found any answers. I see that Tom didn't answer your questions here, but maybe you found them elsewhere, and if so, would you share them. Much of preterism makes perfect sense, however, I do not see some of the prophecies in Revelation as having happened in 70 A.D. or any time since then. This is why Im still a partial preterist,. So far, that is the view that seems to be in line with Jesus's words in the gospels, and with Revelation regarding the "end". When we look at current events, it does appear very much like we are seeing these things unfold. Its confusing, but I know the bible is clear, if we can just see it.

Sorry all, I have not been in the place where I wanted to just go through KZbin comments for a while! Pardon my delay! I do not see them asking 3 separate things at all! It becomes pretty easy if you compare the question as it appears in all 3 gospels: Matt 24: “when will this happen, and what will be the sign of your coming and of the end of the age?” Mark 13: “Tell us, when will these things happen? And what will be the sign that they are all about to be fulfilled?” Luke 21: "when will these things happen? And what will be the sign that they are about to take place?” These three verses all describe the SAME question the disciples ask. My question to you would be, if you never had been taught anything about the end times, would you have thought he was asking "3 separate questions" here? I do not think so. It is one question, "when will this be" the secondary things "and the signs of your coming" is not now referencing something different, it is all the same question, Jesus was "coming" to do this, and it would signal the end of their age. the commenter said, "Jesus tells him all this things but they don’t all take place in 70 AD. If they do then explain Luke 21:24 where it refers to Jerusalem being trodden down by the Gentiles." This doesn't need any explanation really...that IS what titus did. They literally broke down the door and stomped in there, and the war lasted 42 months as they said. Jerusalem fell to the gentiles. Besides AFTER the Luke verse Jesus still says: “Truly I tell you, this generation will certainly not pass away until all these things have happened." the commenter said, "If everything has happened already then why is there no account of Jesus coming and everyone seeing him." There is account of him coming...don't forget his "coming" was tied to the destruction of the temple...in effect Jesus is the one that destroyed the temple:, just like Stephen said: "For we have heard him say that this Jesus of Nazareth will destroy this place and change the customs Moses handed down to us.” Acts 6:14 In addition, words need to be understood as people use them. The verse says, "Every eye will see him EVEN THOSE THAT PIERCED HIM" (Rev 1:7) Now you have to ask yourself...where are the people that pierced him? Are they not dead? How can they see him now? And if it was literally EVERY SINGLE EYE, then why say "even those that pierced him?" that is redundant...It is just the way we use language the bible does it in many places: "See, this is getting us nowhere. Look how the whole world has gone after him!” or "The whole Judean countryside and all the people of Jerusalem went out to him." neither of those things are LIETERALLY true...we still speak like this today. "and then shall ALL the tribes of the earth mourn," I referenced this in the video, its "tribes of the land" not "earth." Tribes refer to the 12 tribes...things that do not exist today. They mourned when their temple and land was destroyed for their treatment of the messiah. There is an entire book of wailings called the sibylline oracles which list these. "why is there no recorded account of a rapture event or at least a great mystery of millions of people disappearing" The resurrection is for the "dead ones" not the living. In addition there is no "rapture event" in the bible. You need not be so literal, when Paul said this: "And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus," Eph 2:6 does that mean we are in heaven right now? Literally? And consider the audience of 1 THess, it says "WE who are alive and remain..." Paul considered himself part of the group that would see these things. If Jesus returned than when was his 1000 year reign with his Saints? Jesus reigns from heaven...not earth. The dead come and reign with him, in heaven...no living people are mentioned to do this, nor does it say it is on the earth. I will admit the 1000 years is a difficult verse, but it is only one paragraph in the bible, and I believe the number to be symbolic, in fact every time 1000 is mention it is symbolic. Does God ONLY own the cattle on "1000 hills?" and "one day in your courts is better than 1000 elsewhere" does that mean 1001 days elsewhere is better than heaven? No its poetry...but stil this is a difficult passage, I will grant you this. "When did the Judgment of the world happen? " It is judgement of the dead...not the world. When the dead are judged they are sent to heaven or hell. It happened in 70AD "the destruction of her in 70 AD is what is referred to in the book of Revelation than why is she inhabited today for is it not written “Thus with violence the great city of Babylon shall be thrown down, and shall not be found anymore” Because Jerusalem was not LITERALLY babylon, as I hope you would agree....they were SPIRITUALLY babylon, as it says: "Their bodies will lie in the public square of the great city-which is figuratively called Sodom and Egypt-where also their Lord was crucified." It isnt talking about dirt, but the nation ruled by the old covenant that denied and killed Jesus. Now let me turn the tables a bit and ask some questions of you: Jesus said he was going to come and “reward each man according to his deeds” (Matthew 16:27), and that “some standing here” would live to see it. v(28). When did that happen? THe very next verse is the transfiguration, so it cant be that because nobody had died by then. He also said THEY would not finish going through the cities of Israel before the son of man comes. Matthew 10:23 When did this happen? He said, "praying that YOU may have strength to escape all these things that are about to take place" (Luke 21:36) Who is he talking to here? He said that John would remain alive until he returned. John 21:22 Is John still alive? and, “But when YOU see Jerusalem surrounded by armies, then recognize that her desolation is near." Luke 21:20 This is a timing event, did this not actually happen in 70ad? and that, "Very truly I tell you, a time is coming and has now come when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God and those who hear will live." Jesus said that time had come already, can this be true? He told his disciples,: "See to it that no one misleads YOU." "Truly I say to YOU, not one stone here will be left upon another," "YOU will be hearing of wars and rumors of wars." "See that YOU are not frightened" “Then they will deliver YOU to tribulation, and will kill YOU," "Therefore when YOU see the abomination of desolation" "But pray that YOUR flight will not be in the winter," “they will lay their hands on YOU and will persecute YOU, delivering YOU to the synagogues and prisons" So make up YOUR minds not to prepare beforehand to defend YOURSELVES" "They will put some of YOU to death," "Yet not a hair of YOUR head will perish." "By your endurance you will gain YOUR lives." "For this reason YOU also must be ready" "Then if anyone says to YOU," "Behold, I have told YOU in advance." "so, YOU too, when YOU see all these things, recognize that He is near, right at the door." Matthew 24:4-33 Can you really think this is talking about YOU instead of the disciple whom he was speaking with? Mark 13:30 Truly I say to you, this generation will not pass away until all these things take place. Luke 21:32 Truly I say to you, this generation will not pass away until all things take place. Matthew 24:34 Truly I say to you, this generation will not pass away until all these things take place. Was Jesus wrong? Peter said, "The end of all things is near." How could this be? John said, "Dear children, this is the last hour;" The last hour? James said, "strengthen your hearts, for the coming of the Lord is near." Was it near? Why did they need to stregnthen their hearts if it wasnt near? God told Daniel: "keep the vision secret, For it pertains to many days in the future.” and "and seal up the book until the time of the end." but he told John, "Do not seal up the words of the prophecy of this book, for the time is near." The time between Daniel and John was 500 years, and it went from "distant" to "near" now 2000 years later is it really reasonable that it is still "near?" "The God of peace will SOON crush Satan under your feet. " "The night is almost gone, and the day is NEAR." Revelation says, in the first verse "The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave Him to show to His bond-servants, the things which must SOON take place" and in the last chapter, "God of the spirits of the prophets, sent His angel to show to His bond-servants the things which must SOON take place." Along with: 1st Chapter "for the time is NEAR." Rev 1:3 Last Chapter "for the time is NEAR." Rev 22:10 "Behold, I stand at the door and knock;" The entire New Testament is poised with the imminence of his soon return. Are you really comfortable with saying it wasnt? Revelation was sent to seven literal churches, and he told them actual specific things: i.e. Since you have kept my command to endure patiently, I will also keep you from the hour of trial that is going to come on the whole world to test the inhabitants of the earth. This message was actually delivered to this church...and you would believe that everyone would die, their church would disappear completely and be buried 2000 years before it actually happened? Why would God be so cruel to lie to them? Well I hope some of that is helpful to some people :)

I agree with you. Jesus is coming back and soon. Alot of people won't be ready. The world just doesn't go on forever and ever, it's all in Rev'.. and we are in the end times given what is happening in the world today. Beware of false teachers but also you can take 7 people and give a verse and most will have their own version of what that means. Basically Jesus promised he would return when he left. He went to prepare a place for us..so material things don't matter collections legacies..all a waste ..

Hi Tom I have been in transition for some time having been a Southern Baptist pastor for many years and I have come to believe that most if not all of Matthew 24 was the fulfilled at A.D. 70 what I’m still studying on is the unfolding of the new heavens and new earth I also wrestle with Paul’s words in 2 Thess relative to the man of lawlessness I have come to believe that the rapture is not an accurate interpretation but I’m still studying to find the truth thank you for your video

The millennium trips many people up, me included. But there is an anchor that I think settles at least that it's past...here is a copy paste from my notes Compare the wording of Matthew 16:27-28 with that of the white throne judgement which happens AFTER the 1,000 years. Here is what Jesus said in Mat 16:27 For the Son of Man is going to come in his Father’s glory with his angels, and then he will REWARD each person ACCORDING TO WHAT THEY HAVE DONE. Truly I tell you, some who are standing here will not taste death before they see the Son of Man coming in his kingdom. And at the white throne judgement: Another book was opened, which is the book of life. The dead were judged ACCORDING TO WHAT THEY HAD DONE as recorded in the books. The sea gave up the dead that were in it, and death and Hades gave up the dead that were in them, and each person was judged ACCORDING TO WHAT THEY HAD DONE. And then again in Rev 22:12 “Look, I am coming soon! My REWARD is with me, and I will give to each person ACCORDING TO WHAT THEY HAVE DONE. Jesus essentially tells us that the white throne judgement of revelation 20 happened “while some standing here lived” in 70AD.

Tom mills, I have been a preterist much of my life but now I am in crisis with it. I see events taking place around me that don't line up with the preterist view. China is going cashless as is Sweden. India is going cashless as well. Their payment system is being replaced with electronic payments. This is leading up to tech firms which are developing microchips to implant in the hand for buying and selling. The UN has announced plans for a one world government. Nations are losing their borders and third world migration has devastated Europe. The pope has plans for a one world religion...….the list could go on. Everything that the premillennial dispensationalists have been saying that would happen in the last days is currently happening now! If preterism is true then why is this stuff taking place? So far nobody has been able to give me a solid, evidence backed and proven answer to this question I hope you can lead me to the breakthrough that I need.

Well the bible doesn't say anything about a "one world religion" or "cashless electronic payments with microchips in your hand." I have been hearing these things were almost in place since I was a little boy 30+ years ago. Your question is really based on pure rumor and speculation. Even if those things do happen, it wouldn't matter, because that isn't what the bible is talking about. I don't think that me just saying so will convince you however, I would just urge you to keep reading the bible and decide what it is saying, since the bible doesn't say anything about these topics, you have to be getting this information from something else other than the bible. In my experience people do not get convinced in comments, so I would just ask you to keep an open heart and more importantly don't be afraid of the future. God will take care of you whatever happens if you trust him, in fact THAT is what the mark of the beast refers to that your rumor is based on. In revelation it says that nobody can buy or sell without a mark on the hands or head of people, but what people often do not understand is that most of revelation is based on imagery of the old testament like here: These words, which I am commanding you today, shall be on your heart...you shall bind them as a sign on your hand and they shall be as frontals [c]on your forehead. Deuteronomy 6:8-9 Because of this verse Jews today take the law, print it really small, and put it in a box that has a strap, and wear it on the head or the hand, this is how they interpret this verse. Do a google image search for "phylactery box" and see the silliness of this interpretation. What this verse means is that we should have Gods laws on our head -meaning in our minds, as well as our hands, meaning action. The pharisees did not break any laws "with their hands," they didn't really commit adultery or murder, but Jesus condemned them for not having it "on the heads" -he told them that if they commit adultery in their heart, it is the same thing. Likewise the people who served the beast, who was Rome, served Rome in either heart or action. It also says in revelation that God also puts a mark on peoples foreheads, "Do not harm the land or the sea or the trees until we put a mark on the foreheads of the servants of our God.” Nobody thinks that Christians will also have a mark, why is it that people think the beasts mark is a "real" mark, but God's is not? With regards to not being able to buy or sell, God tells his children, "I advise you to buy from Me gold refined by fire so that you may become rich, and white garments so that you may clothe yourself, and that the shame of your nakedness will not be revealed; and eye salve to anoint your eyes so that you may see." Does this mean we need to carry some money around so we can buy these actual items from God? Hopefully we can agree that these things are just symbolic, just as this beast that marks isn't a real dragon that speaks like a lamb, these things are all symbolic. If someone takes the premil ideas and makes them a reality, personally I think it will be a giant troll -people doing it on purpose to get a response. Even today the social security number will never generate with a 666 in it because they purposely avoid it for these reasons, those numbers are excluded from generating. At these end of the day no matter what happens in our world people will always be "interpreting" the times as some sort of proof that it is the end. The one thing all of these predictions have had in common is that they are all wrong -and will continue to be... You don't have to be convinced, just keep it in mind as you live your life :)

I think preterism is a relief that I no longer have to worry if I might accidentally be taking the mark of the beast and not even know it. I think TPTB are Zionist and they make the “news” line up with what the dispys have been saying is going to happen to keep everyone in fear. Since people who are afraid and/or divided are much easier to control than those who think for themselves and seek truth in all matters.

Well I would want you to rephrase the question using the bible. You find a verse that you think hasn't happened yet, and responding to that is what we should focus on, instead of taking an idea we have been taught in our minds and asking about that. I think the context of these phrases in the bible are all easily understood. It seems to me every time it mentions Christ "coming" it is referencing his "coming" to earth to judge Jerusalem. The kingdom of God has never been described as an earthly kingdom, it is a heavenly one, one you have within you right now. It isn't a political one as so many think. "The coming of the kingdom of God is not something that can be observed, nor will people say, ‘Here it is,’ or ‘There it is,’ because the kingdom of God is within you" “My kingdom is not of this world. If it were, my servants would fight to prevent my arrest by the Jewish leaders. But now my kingdom is from another place.”

@Hermit Great question! Let me answer yours, with a question: God promised Adam "In the day that you eat of it you shall surely die." Did Adam die that day? Most people are aware this is spiritual death...it is THIS death that has been destroyed. Physical death was ALWAYS a part of his creation of mortals...isn't that why he created a tree of life? Without a tree of life man would physically die...even without the fall (See Genesis 3:22)

I'm not sure how I can take the information you listed. But I do know it makes me dig deeper and I want to learn more . Thank you for explaining it as your total understanding and not being rude to those who disagree. That is something that separates too many believers. I can say one thing, no matter the view on the end times or non end times, it's good to have a belief in our Savior that's unyielding. Someday in Heaven we can all worship together. Absolutely! I love your attitude, I wish more people had one like it. Nobody I know has come to accept preterism instantly. Just keep some of these things in mind as you live your life, and of course pray and trust God that we all will continue to grow. I am happy you have an open mind. As for the rest of the family, some agree with us and some are not sure, but I don't think we have anybody who firmly disagrees.

I believe everyone will still be individually judged when they die, and then go to their eternal destination. I don't think the earth will be ruined personally, I still think God is in control. Life on earth now contrary to popular opinion is wealthier, more free, more fed and less war than at any time in human history! I'm at 5:21 and the rules were just discussed. That is very sound! I'm going to lay this here and see if we agree: Matthew 24 was Jesus speaking to the disciples and his followers, who were Jews, about 70 AD. I do believe though that it was a layered prophetic message. In other words, there is nothing new under the sun and things in a similar fashion will happen again. And since we are approaching the 6000 year mark since God created or re-created the Earth, it seems fitting that we are knocking on the door of the tribulation period spoken of in the Book of Daniel.

My thinking on the multi-layer prophecy in Matthew 24 is because Jesus is God, He is also eternal, and He views time in a linear fashion in that He knows the end from the beginning, then even though Matthew 24 clearly to me is about 70 AD, it has warnings to us all of the things to look for in the future. In verse 29 it seems to go to a more future tense because no stars fell from Heaven that I'm aware of in 70 AD and Jesus did not appear in the clouds then either. However, I will concede and say that I just don't know for sure. But I do know beyond a shadow of a doubt the main topic that Jesus is speaking of to His disciples is in fact 70 AD and the destruction of the Temple. I can only guess that from verse 29 on, He could be eluding to Revelation 13, and also the gathering or Rapture simply because those things did not happen in 70 AD either. But again, I could be missing something and I am open to any explanation. That is how we learn and grow. I did watch the whole video and think I need to watch it again. It was very good! @Jaydensmommy2512 Excellent observation! I still see that event as a literal occurrence, the question really becomes, "Did the disciples see him return in the same way as he left?" The answer cannot likely be known without talking to them. These are some observations however. He left with the clouds, and her returned with the clouds, that is one way I have heard it put. It is also possible that the disciples alone saw him return that way -this would not be unusual in scripture. Recall when Jesus was born the shepherds saw a host of angels in the sky singing and then going back into heaven. This would have only been about 5 miles from Jerusalem, and yet nobody else saw that happen. It is also possible people DID see it, consider these writings in Josephus about that time: "Besides these signs, a few days after that feast, on the one- and-twentieth day of the month Artemisius, a certain prodigious and incredible phenomenon appeared; I suppose the account of it would seem to be a fable, were it not related by those that saw it, and were not the events that followed it of so considerable a nature as to deserve such signals; for, before sun-setting, chariots and troops of soldiers in their armour were seen running about among the clouds, and surrounding of cities."

Also the "heavens and earth" is demonstrated in Isa 1:2 and 51:15-16. Isaiah's letter to Israel was written to the Heavens and Earth.

Your partly right but also partly wrong imo. If Matt 24 does not relate to our time, then the Bible does not have much to say on how the Kingdom Of God comes on the earth. However, the end is already determined by God and it will come on the 7th day or the 3rd day according to scripture. The Bible teaches us this fact in many places throughout scripture relating to the restoration or entering His rest, or the consummation of all things, or the judgement, or the Lord day and so on and so forth. God has a specific time plan of these events and does not let them happen at random. He reveals all this to us so we can know how close we are to the end. Yes there are those that say we don't know when Christ will return on the hour or day and we don't but we specifically know the time frame at which He will return as we can work it out. Most prophecies use a day as 1 year or in this case a thousand years. This sort of teaching about end time events not happening is for apathetical Christians that the day will overtake them as they won't be "praying that theu are counted worthy to endure till the end". The pre-trib rapture is another teaching in this camp of apathy. The world cannot continue in the way it is going today. We have made it illegal to murder millions of human beings and we are just like the days of Sodom and Gomorrah. God is saving up His wrath for the sons of disobedience, but before this we will be the witnesses to the world and God will come upon us in power before the end.

Jesus said, “Truly I tell you, some who are standing here will not taste death before they see that the kingdom of God has come with power.” Mark 9:1 The kingdom is here now! The kingdom is not a physical literal one with Jesus on a throne. It doesn't "come" in a material way. As Jesus said, "The coming of the kingdom of God is not something that can be observed, nor will people say, ‘Here it is,’ or ‘There it is,’ because the kingdom of God is in your midst.” Luke 17:20. And still, you have what Jesus clearly said, "This generation will certainly not pass away until all these things have happened." This includes his coming in the clouds in verse 30. @@TomMillsFamily Thanks for your reply. Your right the Kingdom of God came in power during the time of the apostles ministry and at Jesus transfiguration. We can tap into this power ourselves and as we are citizens of heaven and of the Kingdom of God. However, it does also come in a physical way. "Then comes the end, when He delivers the kingdom to God the Father, when He puts an end to all rule and all authority and power. For He must reign till He has put all enemies under His feet". So you see that when Christ returns He will come with a loud trumpet and He will raise us up at the last day (John 6) and then the Kingdom will be given to us. We will rule and reign with Christ on the earth and He will seperate the nations one from another. Daniel 9 gives us a wider perspective from the time Jerusalem was restored to the time of the end. Its like a two-fold prophecy. Jesus spoke about the temple being destroyed and He became the abomination that causes desolation as sacrifices did cease after Him and the temple was destroyed in 70 A.D. But there will be a rerun of this prophecy with the antichrist and all the tine signitures measure up for the last 7 years. The first 3.5 years God will empower His 2 witnesses that are according to scripture the 2 olive trees which is us and the Jews who are also grafted back in to their natural branches.

Well now you are backtracking a bit, first you said the kingdom of God hasn't come yet and now you agree with me that it has. But if the kingdom of God has come...why are you still waiting for it to come? Did it leave again? You're still missing the power of Jesus statement. Mark 9:1 says, "Some standing here will not taste death before they see the kingdom of God come with Power." Literally the next verse is Mark 9:2, " After six days Jesus took Peter, James and John with him and led them up a high mountain, where they were all alone. There he was transfigured before them." Who had died in between verse 1 and verse 2? Jesus said some standing here would "not die" meaning that the rest of them WOULD die. And yet nobody died before the transfiguration, six days later. Nobody thinks the kingdom of God came at the transfiguration anyway. If you compare this statement with Matthew you see something even more clear: Matt 16:27 -28 For the Son of Man is going to come in his Father’s glory with his angels, and then he will reward each person according to what they have done. Truly I tell you, some who are standing here will not taste death before they see the Son of Man coming in his kingdom. Are you telling me at the transfiguration -six days later, that Jesus, "Came in his fathers glory with all his angels and rewarded EVERY MAN according to his deeds?" That's what happens at the resurrection in Revelation 22:12! "Look, I am coming soon! My reward is with me, and I will give to each person according to what they have done."

@@TomMillsFamily It maybe refering to when Christ rode on a donkey into Jerusalem? I know He was not aluding to His second coming because His second coming has not yet come. It says that when Christ comes again, He will come with His Holy angels and gather the elect from one end of the heavens to the other. It says, the Lord shall descend with a shout and with the trump of God and the dead in Christ shall rise first. Its going to be a magnificent event and one that will trump His own resurrection. Those alive and dead will be changed and then caught up with Him and then He will set up His Kingdom here on earth and judge the living and the dead. It says that "I charge you therefore before God and the Lord Jesus Christ, who will judge the living and the dead at His appearing and His kingdom: Preach the word!" This is the very reason I don't believe in any judgement of souls right now because it says clearly that He judges at His appearing.

Jesus did not “reward every man according to his deeds” on the donkey. The “gathering together” is not vertical into the sky, it’s gathering together horizontally, all of us gathered in to one new body of believers. John 11:51-52 Now he did not say this on his own initiative, but being high priest that year, he prophesied that Jesus was going to die for the nation, and not for the nation only, but in order that He might also gather together into one the children of God who are scattered abroad. He HAS come, you have just misunderstood what his coming was about.

Tom, what a wonderful video you comprised! I like the precursors you listed before you started. One was only listen to the Bible and what is in there. The other was your using Greek and you explained every word that could be used as most people take it literally. The other special thing was that you said to keep an open mind and forget what we had thought previously. I did all these things and your showing every Greek word and what it meant in every verse cleared things up in my mind! You went back to other verses which paralleled and showed the falsehood of how people take things. I am o longer scared like I have been all my life, of Jesus coming! I hope it's while I am still alive but being 76, that would mean it has to come soon! I wish this video could be seen by SO MANY people out there! I was raised strict in the WELS church, and all of us were taught to be frightened to death practically. This opened my eyes and showed me without a doubt that the "end" was referring to another bad time long ago. I am going to "share" this on my channel in the Community page. Hi Tom, (came here from bible study last night). I’m about 18 minutes into this video and commenting already. (It seems I’m not the only one who pauses the video to comment, based on what I’m reading here :).) I keep pausing it to look up different Greek words. I have not looked at your (Tom mills) channel to see If there are more videos regarding translation from Greek. For instance when you speak about His saying “this generation” versus “that generation”. I went to google if the Greek word for “this” is different from the Greek word for “that” (it seems to be). I would love videos where you go thru word by word and compare the Greek to English! Even if it’s just one popular verse at a time?? It’s interesting to me to see how quickly things gets misconstrued simply by translation. It’s like kids playing the game of Telephone. Ok, back to watching now. 🤔

A question: Psalms 118:10, at 26:46 in this video - you say that it doesn’t mean all nations surrounded him, he was just being poetic. But yet for other portions of the scripture you say to take stuff at face value. How do we know (or get to choose?!) one portion is symbolic but the others are literal? Absolutely not challenging you. Really trying to understand and learn. :) (I’m ISFJ-T if that helps)

Haha yes exactly! It might be useful to have a video like that. Despite studying Greek pretty intensely for several years, I still am not super good with me endings. In Greek you change the noun depending on what the verb is referencing. My vocabulary is great though and I could do mostly what you are saying here, and perhaps that might be a good idea!

In a book of poetry you can understand things in a poetic way, and in a book of prophecy you can understand it in a prophetic way, and a historical book should be understood in a historical way. We need to put ourselves as much as possible into the shoes of its hearers, and understand where the writer is coming from, and how they wrote. Revelation talks about seven headed dragons...if we treat it like a book of history, we then would expect dragons to be alive now. Generation (genea) noun- offspring, family, race, kind. This could just as well mean the Jews will continue to exist as a distinct people until the end of time. The Greek word used here is related to the word used in 1 Peter 2:9 which is also translated "generation" and refers to the members of the Church. People in those days did not think of race as black, white, or yellow. The Romans thought of themselves as a race, the Greeks another race, and the Jews a third race. Thus, Jesus made it clear that though the temple would be destroyed, the Jewish "race" would not be exterminated. It is true that all the other small nations around Israel are gone. They were scattered, intermarried, and lost their identity. The Jews were also scattered and intermarried, but God has not allowed them to lose their identity. The preservation of the Jewish people is another miracle of history. In spite of countless efforts by enemies to exterminate them they have survived as a national entity. You are mistaken, the word genea does not mean what you listed, you listed the definition for genos, not genea. genos (strongs 1085) -offspring, family, race, kind genea (strongs 1074) - a generation Matthew 24:34 does not use genos, it uses genea.

I don't know what concordance you are using but it's just not correct. The word for nation is "ethnos" (strongs 1484). It does not mean age or time, that is aeon (strongs 165). That is not the definition, that is the word count on how the KJV translates that word (The KJV translates Strong's G1074 in the following manner: generation (37x), time (2x), age (2x), nation (1x)). Those are not definitions, but choices of the translators. It's definition is "generation" you are being a little dishonest, or else you don't understand how the concordance works, all because you don't believe Jesus words. A word is a word, it doesn't have an "English" definition, it only has the definition that people assign to it. You gave me a completely inaccurate definition before, 100% wrong, and now you want me to trust you that it has 3 different meanings. Genea is not a contested word. Look up every use in the bible and see if it means nation. THe disciples know that word, he just used it a few verses earlier on the Pharisees (Matt 23:36).

I finally watched this video and followed along in my bible. It’s thought provoking to say the least. I’d like to hear what you think about the 1000 years when Jesus rules since there isn’t a third coming mentioned in the Bible. Where does that fit in?

The 1,000 year reign is a sticky point for all views believe it or not. Entire denominations exist around it. I think it's important to mention that these days were foretold be several prophets, and Revelation is the only one that ever mentions this 1,000 year reign. First I think it's important to mention that it never says he reigns on the EARTH for a thousand years. His reign is in heaven. Also one thousand is also often used in scripture to just mean "a really long time," for instance "God owns the cattle on 1,000 hills" or "one day in your court is better than 1,000 elsewhere." I have honestly been all over the place about this and I could still change my opinion on it. I heard another person say that "whatever it is we make far too much of it." I would agree, its only one paragraph out of the whole bible. This is the part that finally convinced me of its timing at least, I will add CAPS to point out the comparison I want to make. Matthew 16:27-28 For the Son of Man is going to come in his Father’s glory with his angels, and then he will REWARD EACH PERSON ACCORDING TO WHAT THEY HAVE DONE. Truly I tell you, some who are standing here will not taste death before they see the Son of Man coming in his kingdom. Revelation 20:12-13 Another book was opened, which is the book of life. The dead were judged according to what they had done as recorded in the books. 13 The sea gave up the dead that were in it, and death and Hades gave up the dead that were in them, and EACH PERSON WAS JUDGED ACCORDING TO WHAT THEY HAD DONE. Jesus says it again at the very end of revelation: Rev 22:12 Look, I am coming soon! My reward is with me, and I will GIVE TO EACH PERSON ACCORDING TO WHAT THEY HAVE DONE. 13 I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End. In Matthew Jesus said that ever man would receive their reward while some here still lived, and the same wording is used in the white throne judgement, which takes place after the 1,000 years. The reward is the gift of eternal life or eternal torment, neither of which happened before this judgement. Now because of the resurrection, we go right to heaven when we die. The thousand years I currently just see as the time the kingdom of God was spreading during the book of acts and such.

@@TomMillsFamily if Mathew 24 is a focus than Revelations 20 should also be considered as a consideration regardless if it is only mentioned there. Either we accept or pick and choose which never seems to work out unless one sells a narrative. Not saying you are selling a narrative rather people can which is particularly a point in this video. Those beheaded or unmarked reign with Christ 1000 years before the second resurrection as mentioned. This must fit in somewhere otherwise it becomes another missing link for lack of better words. Moreover, considering “end of age” is it perhaps a reference to the age of Pieces as we have just moved into Aquarius within the last year. This should be considered as we move just within 15yrs of the 2000yr anniversary of the crucifixion??? Just a thought that one. End time eschatology is certainly one subject that requires a deeper read and cross reference to much of the scriptures including The apocrypha and many of the prophets.

Basically, yes at least as I see it. Earth had a purpose. Jesus redeemed us from the curse, and brought us into covenant with him. But the original purpose to him making man on earth still stands. What that is is a mystery, but I see this world as a test or growth chamber for the next, but I admit I am speculating. Whatever his purpose is, it will be accomplished.

I believe this to be nero caesar. So 4th times a charm for me watching🙂. So I am not sure what I am but I know I am a believer In Christ learning more as I grow older. I honestly never heard of the pretreist and you mentioned futurism? For me I always thought you take God from schools and such and will result in what we have now. Fires and earthquakes, murders ect but also more media to inform us of everything. I met in my life some people who said to me what you do here will reflect in heaven. I am not good at explaining things. I do believe you go straight to heaven, if your a believer. But I do question now yes you believed as a child or teen but not following God anymore do you still enter the kingdom? Then you read about the parable about the wages and you think of that criminal on the cross who repents. Maybe I am just way off topic. I do read as in context more of history then the now. All I know is I have been a Christian all my life and one who struggles and fails. Thru my ugh 42yrs He has never failed me when I learn to trust and obey and walk with Him then when I have chosen to walk and do things on my own. But this 2019 December I joined your Bible study and you rocked my world in a positive way and ever since.🦋

Your attempt to explain the text is commendable. However, one problem is the misunderstanding of "This generation". Jesus was referring to things that would happen in the 1st century era, such as the destruction of the temple in the year 70; as well as things which I were a far off. Things a far off were referring to this era,"Her generation," The Church- The Bride of Christ". The return of Jesus is eminent! Jesus did not return to earth in the 1st century. The scoffers saying where is the sign of His return; is a sign that Jesus is coming quickly!

Well I notice you did not give any verses to support your idea. Every time Jesus ever used the term "this generation" it always without fail refers to the generation he was speaking to. Matthew 24 is not the only place either. Remember Jesus said: Matthew 16: 27-28 For the Son of Man is going to come in his Father’s glory with his angels, and then he will reward each person according to what they have done. Truly I tell you, some who are standing here will not taste death before they see the Son of Man coming in his kingdom. and... Matthew 10:23 When you are persecuted in one place, flee to another. Truly I tell you, you will not finish going through the towns of Israel before the Son of Man comes.

But, I am sitting here listening with an open mind....He did state that prior to delving with him in his thoughts and interpretations of the Holy Word, to set aside what you "think" to be correct. So if you were already going to disagree with Tom and his interpretations....you only have your self to blame for sitting and listening. You protest and that is ok. That's interesting. Though I've never believed in the rapture, all I know is it's appointed to everyone to die once and face judgment. So I'm pretty sure the Lord will be easier on those who are a bit misled on the subject, because regardless everyone's world will come to an end of course, than on those who despise the Word of God and repentance and reject the saving grace of Jesus Christ and call the warning of the righteous "doom p''''". Don't worry about them. Vengeance is God's anyways. All we have to do is share the good news and be on our way without dust on our feet or blood on our hands if they choose to reject it. But the book of Revelation is yet to come, right. When satan is set ablaze and the Lord reigns. Hallelujah! Plus the world is still full of darkness in need of the light of Christ, so the go into all the world part still applies. The devil's works are still rampant until people choose to repent and receive the gift of grace to overcome and be victorious over any ounce of darkness. But did the last days end when the temple was destroyed? Or does every generation have a last day? Since anyone can be the offspring of God when they're born again, does God's generation carry on? If redemption still applies for today, most everything else does as well. Though the world hasn't ended, there have been horrific tribulations. Nations will be upbraided and taught a lesson if there's a lack of repentance, but mercy will be shown to those who humble themselves and repent. The Lord has been given all authority and will hear the cries for mercy and restoration of His children. It's still a battle and people need to hear the Word all over the world until fulfillment Matthew 28:19-20, Ephesians 1:14, 1 John 2:28-29, Revelation 22, Galatians 5:19-23, 2 Timothy 2:26, Proverbs 9:10, Timothy 6:14 -15, 2 Cor.2:11, Phil.4:6-7, Acts 26:18, Acts 17:31-33 The Lord is merciful and patient, so everyone should be grateful their end hasn't come sooner so that they may have a chance to change. The Lord will resist the proud. If he would've sought, he would've found. I'm sure he didn't want to know the truth, so he'd have an excuse. The rapture isn't what deterred him, it was repentance. John 3:19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. Mark 9:42 And whosoever shall offend one of these little ones that believe in me, it is better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and he were cast into the sea. End of the world or not, the atheists would be doomed for refusing repentance and the love and atonement of the Lord regardless. And Christians would be saved for placing their faith in the Lord. It's just as urgent and real either way. Also it's not just the movies, Christians everywhere are still being persecuted in terrible tribulation. So it's helpful to always be on guard and in prayer. As Ephesians 6 says. John 10:10. 2 Corinthians 2:11 Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices. Since those days the world has progressed, matured and rotted. Thanks for taking the time. Redemption is certainly for today, and salvation is for today. Where we differ is how we view evil in the world. I see evil not as a sign of the end or last days, but all part of God's plan. One of the questions atheists love to talk about is, "If God is real why do babies die of cancer?" or some such variation. Ultimately, the problem of evil is by design of God. He made us with the ability to sin. The serpent did not sin, Adam sinned all on his own, without ever even talking to the serpent. The light can only shine in the darkness, remove the darkness and you do not truly have light. This mortal life is designed for that purpose, to prepare us for the next life.

Thanks for the reply. What I was actually saying was God's judgment is just as prevalent regardless if the world comes to an end soon or not. So it's still very urgent to warn the wicked because God resists the proud and they're at risk of being doomed either way haha. It's a broken and fallen world and everyone is in line for hell until they take hold of the saving grace of Jesus Christ. (Romans 8:9) So people can choose either life or death, the Holy Spirit or flesh. Galatians 5:18-26 gives that distinction. And yes, no one has to take the bait of satan. I completely agree. And tragedy and tribulation that happens to the righteous will be compensated for. God is good and just. That's no excuse to refuse the Holy Spirit. It's a wicked world one step away from hell, of course nothing is perfect. But there's hope in the Lord. God is perfect and requires repentance and a pure transformation of one's heart. Once someone repents, their relationship with the Lord will be restored. And praise the Lord, there's nothing greater than reconciled fellowship with the One True Living God♡ Sin separates us from God. We've all fallen short and sinned against Him and need to humble ourselves and confess our sins and Jesus is faithful and just to forgive. He wills no one to perish. But everyone's got free will, and the tares will be weeded out from the harvest. No one's destined to choose evil. But they'll reap what they sow. The Lord's is the victory. @@TomMillsFamily I think evil is a different animal than cancer. A baby getting cancer is awful but not evil. Not everything bad is evil. Sometimes bad things happen. I am not sure about God creating or allowing evil. Why would God do this? We all have free will. If we commit evil acts, that's on us, not God.

Hi Tom.. Finally found an hour and 16mins to watch this.ha ha. It was great.. certainly gets the mind ticking. It can't be denied that everything you pointed out holds water.... so now, I've got some adjusting to do. If there's anything I can pinpoint as my most loved part about being a follower of Christ, it's constantly learning more and more from The Lord. I believe the Lord gave me a vision about 8yrs ago... I was wearing a really really (as in it swam on me) fur coat. I asked the Lord "Why is this coat so ridiculously BIG on me??" and he replied "Because I'm going to fill it." I have always thought of that vision when something new has been revealed to me... something that, while in the temporary, shake me.... will ultimately GROW ME as a follower of Christ. So, Thanks !!!

Tom, I appreciate your videos against IO. Those were fantastic. However, I used to be a full-preterist before and now realize that there are some missing links. Matthew 23-24 and Matthew 16:27 do talk about Christ's "coming" to judge Israel and her 12 tribes in AD70. No question about that. Revelation 6-19 talk about those events clearly. At the end of Revelation 19, the beast and false prophet are thrown into the lake of fire. At the end of the 1000 years, Satan also joins them in the lake of fire in Revelation 20 Revelation 20 "10 The devil who deceived them was thrown into the lake of fire and sulfur, where the beast and the false prophet are also. They will be tormented day and night forever and ever" So then, we see that there are two separate events. AD70 was when the beast and false prophet were thrown into the lake of fire. But satan is still not judged in the lake of fire until the future final judgment. AD70 was the judgment of Israel. The future will be the judgment of all nations. The gospel was preached to Israel first, and then came their judgment in 70AD. The gospel has gone to all nations even after 70AD...therefore the final judgment of all nations is in the future.

Here is the problem I have with your hypothesis. I think you missed the figurative point of the "1000" year reign. Compare the wording of Matthew 16:27-28 with that of the white throne judgement which happens AFTER the 1,000 years. Here is what Jesus said in Mat 16:27 For the Son of Man is going to come in his Father’s glory with his angels, and then he will REWARD each person ACCORDING TO WHAT THEY HAVE DONE. Truly I tell you, some who are standing here will not taste death before they see the Son of Man coming in his kingdom. And at the white throne judgement: Another book was opened, which is the book of life. The dead were judged ACCORDING TO WHAT THEY HAD DONE as recorded in the books. The sea gave up the dead that were in it, and death and Hades gave up the dead that were in them, and each person was judged ACCORDING TO WHAT THEY HAD DONE. And then again in Rev 22:12 “Look, I am coming soon! My REWARD is with me, and I will give to each person ACCORDING TO WHAT THEY HAVE DONE. Jesus essentially tells us that the white throne judgement of revelation 20 happened “while some standing here lived” in 70AD. Therefore all the events of that time, including the judgement of the lake of fire, must have also occurred while some standing with Jesus lived. That's my thoughts anyway!

It will always end with your death. God created all this and called it "good" so why should it now be destroyed? He wanted mankind to first live a mortal life before entering heaven. It hasn't actually been that long in the grand scheme of things since Jesus purchased us with his blood. There is a purpose to our lives being here first, so as long as we are having babies, I don't think it needs to end! Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, 21 to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen. Eph 3:20-21

The Bible is the 'Living' Word of God. So I can appreciate your breaking down of scriptures and words but remember we are that generation in the present time. The Bible is for today so it is present and it's in this (now generation). The scripture was God breathed so we know that it was written for future generations. We are the generation either 3000 years ago or now in the 21st century. I believe it is 'this' generation as it was written by God for future generations.

I, too, believe the Bible is the living word of God but that particular Chapter was for his disciples, and for that time. “Verse 36 ¶ But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.”

How can you maintain this, just because the bible says something to them doesnt mean it has to be true to us i.e.: But Joshua spared Rahab the prostitute, with her family and all who belonged to her, because she hid the men Joshua had sent as spies to Jericho-and she lives among the Israelites to this day. Joshua 6:25 Does this mean if we go to Israel today that Rahab is still alive there? Just because "God breathed" scripture doesnt mean it is true to everyone in the same way....should we obey the command to sacrifice animals for sin? Is it still not true today?

The Present Irony All of the New Testament writers wrote from a first-century perspective of the return of the Lord. Their words, phrases, and usage of pronouns make that painfully obvious. And, they were all inspired by the Holy Spirit who governed what they wrote and the words they used. So, any Christian organization still teaching a yet future tribulation, rapture, and return of Christ, is saying to all those biblical writers, and the Holy Spirit who inspired them, that they didn't know what they were talking about! Think about the ramifications of that perspective. No wonder so many first-time readers can read the bible and determine it to be fables. For the very people that they look to for confirmation and guidance, the ones claiming to be followers of Christ, don't believe what the non-Christians can plainly see by what the bible actually says in reading it! Why should they believe when the the very ones who claim it to be true, don't even believe it themselves? The modern Church is in a deeply misguided and faithless condition today. Good thing the present Church isn't in the Revelation. No telling what things Jesus would say about it in there.

If preterism is true, as Tom proposes, then l want a refund! It’s inconceivable to think that the church will be able to “oh so gradually” it seems, bring all the world into union with Christ. We’re doing a pretty crappy job of it so far and if you can believe that eventually this will be successful , well, you have a lot more faith in “the church” than l do. This view elevates the church and diminishes Christ. You folks who think Tom has valid scriptural views should take a look at what preterism is and get a more balanced understanding of this perspective. Do you actually think we will be able to overcome all the desperate challenges this world is experiencing by just carrying on as we have been doing since Christ was on earth? Our ONLY hope is Christ returning personally and fixing our broken world. The ecclesia is a little flock compared to the rest of humanity and we will always be persecuted until He comes.

No I don't think the church has to take over the world...at all. Perhaps its possible, but not likely. I think you have misunderstood why we are on earth to begin with! There will always be tribulation in this world, but I am not just awaiting God to come and destroy the world that he declared "good."

At some point it would appear He is going to give humanity a huge wake up call, wreck a lot of it again, then fix it and rule through Christ until He brings all into reconciliation with His Father when God will be all in all(1 Cor, 15:28). What verse says it needs fixed? He promised never to destroy it again even though mankind was evil. You are forgetting what the kingdom of God is about. The Jews missed his first coming because they were expecting the messiah to sit on a throne and conquer their enemies. They didn't realize that it wasn't a physical kingdom but a spiritual one. I would suggest you are making the same mistake...we wrestle NOT against flesh and blood...the kingdom of God is within you!

Why does earth need to improve when we have a perfect heaven afterwards? Have you never considered the possibility that evil around us could be the entire POINT of being on earth? A test without problems isn't a test. Matthew 25:21 “His master replied, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Today at church a guest speaker was there sharing how Russia, Iran, and Turkey are now allies which he says is fulfilling what it says in Revelation. Do you have an opinion on this? I’d love to know your thoughts.

Well first off, "Iran, Russia, and Turkey" do not appear in the bible. Instead they have to take other words and say that these symbols refer to these countries. When I was growing up it was China and Russia, and many others. The verses they use to say there is an alliance are also ambiguous. People have been saying similar things for 2,000 years. I have a book in my library written by Isaac Newton, yes THE Isaac Newton, with all the people of his day that Revelation referred to. The one thing all of these theories have in common is they have all been proven wrong. I would rather put myself in the shoes of the people to whom the book was written first and use that to see what it means :)

The Bible is clearly pointing towards the 70 AD, but I have an issue about the tribulation. Matthew 24:21 says "then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be." If 70 AD was the great tribulation, what about the Holocaust and WWII which had more people killed than 70 AD?

JaWgA BoY Great question! I actually cover this exact point, but if you take this literally, I mean nothing will ever be greater than the flood. But if you think about what happened to Israel covenantally, nothing compares with the removal of the old covenant, the priesthood and the temple.
