Some nice changes. We have had a lot of issues with hypervolt sadly. Including them contacting us for warranty repairs on our jobs which were not our jobs at all… That aside looks to be some good improvements and great to see Luke and Reuben doing awesome work

Nice job lads,but what about some metal support clips inside the plastic trunking every 1 meter to support the cable in case there is a fire to stop potential stop the cables coming out of the wall and stop them being a hazard.

I do think a screw in cable gland would have been better. But looks great on previous version. Great company takes on feedback. Feedback is key to innovation.

But does it allow suppliers such as Octopus to control like the ohme??.. the vehicle I'm after doesn't support the supplier to vehicle communications so I have to select a charger that will...
@AntonyoKnight Жыл бұрын
Octopus or any energy broker companies on the market can and will change all the time but you will be locked with a crap charger if you use their preferences.

You are not burring the cable in the ground, fair enough, this is and must remain the installers choice but would it not be safer to fix the cable a bit higher whilst attaching it to the wall, after all, it is still currently visible but you could argue that with the shrubs and prickly stuff there remains a risk that the area will/could become overgrown in the summer. Thus with such a low install height the cable could be easily hit by a spade if someone decides to tackle this overgrowth in the summer. Raising the height of the cable run another foot or even 6 inches could significantly reduce this risk.
@artisanelectrics Жыл бұрын
Its tuff sheath cable so we don't feel that would be justified
@andysims490611 ай бұрын
Totally agree . It’s to low . Other opinion is to run the same cable in plastic conduit so it’s got double protection

Too much advertising in your videos now ….. yes nice expensive hilti drill is a shame it does not come with instructions on how you should never drill through a garden wall support wall …….. you never drill through pillars……. The integrity of that garden wall is now gone. There is a reason why it’s there
@dugandav1 Жыл бұрын
Yes, well spotted, its very easy to think that your comment although correct is not that critical, but people who say this are wrong! the rectangle or square end of the wall adds to the integral strength of the support. And even, if it does not affect the strength directly, you are creating a hole that is now opening up the whole support to water/insect ingression.
@tomengineer1467 Жыл бұрын
@@dugandav1 not the ends of the wall the support brick wall in the center of the wall should never be drilled through…. They are there to stop the wall falling in high winds or even kids climbing on the wall and it falling over ….. it’s in building regs ……… it’s like a job I went to the other week …… another KZbin so called spark had drilled 4inch holes in roof rafters in a brand new home …… you can’t drill roof rafters….. that stupid spark now has a £70k bill

If you’re going for the easiest charger to install for electricians surely it has to be the Ohme Home Pro. No fiddling around inside the unit just connect the cables in a junction box and the rest is done on the userface/app. Of course, Ohme haven’t sponsored this so it’s definitely worse!
@artisanelectrics Жыл бұрын
I have fitted one and commissioning was a pain, also the whole junction box idea is ugly and its just not a very good quality product in my opinion.
@electrician247 Жыл бұрын
Ohme is a reasonable charger but easiest?? No chance lol. Got the extra junction box for a start. That needs to go.

you´re still allowed to use Type AC rcd´s ? theyre banned from using here in germany since 1985 because of just dectecting pure ac faults, the manufacturers here even start to ask for type b when apliances have like vfd in them because of dc faults that type a cannot detect (except pulsed dc). and considering that it might be a goot idea to put type b in fron of wallboxes since the cars have vfd´s and dc batteries in them

Bidirectional charging support?
@artisanelectrics Жыл бұрын
No mainstream chargers have that at the moment, it would involve a HUGE inverter inside the charger so needs a much bigger unit, Indra have been trialling one but its early days yet.

More and more gimmicks with these EVSEs just to keep the price up. This one even has fake heatsink ribs! At their core, those things are nothing but outdoor outlets with a data wire to tell the car how many amps it is allowed to pull. There's no reason for them to not be as small and nearly as cheap as an actual outdoor outlet.
@artisanelectrics Жыл бұрын
Theres a lot more in them than a double socket LOL. Smart connectivity is a requirement now and also built in Type A RCD with 6mA DC leakage protection, active load management, all these are important safety features that a double socket would not provide!
@Eggnog300011 ай бұрын
Hypervolt support is a joke and trust me, you will need it! Cheap units, no Three Phase units, no integrated battery storage or PV inverters, no octopus intelligent integration. Very 2021.... 3/10..Zappi, Ohme or the new Givenergy are probably better options...

Would have loved to watch this but the sound volume for music was unbearable. Why do you want your users to keep twiddling with their volumes? Watched after an eFix video and nearly blew my speakers when this one started.
@judebrown4103 Жыл бұрын
Ermm...so I watched with headphones and yes, the sound of the music in the beginning was a bit loud. Got a great tip for that: there's a marvelous thing called a volume button. In the old days you used to have to actually get up out of your chair walk over to the radiogramme or television set and turn it, to the left for quieter or to the right for louder. Nowadays it's amazing, I just press a button on my mobile phone and move the slider down...caboom it's not too loud any more! Watched the rest of it and the volume was just right.😁😂🤣😂🤣😂 Ps. Had another idea: before you start watching videos maybe turn down the volume on your device. Sounds like you've been listening to music or something and left it up full blast. Just a thought.😅👍😁🤣

Lots of spammy/halfwit comments. Nice presentation of a product, which is ultimately what the video is for. Keep up the good work. I suspect the 31/32a thing is like zappi, it sends 31 to the car, and 1a is an overhead for the charger itself.
