Hey look, a puff piece by Cycle World. How delightfully unexpected.

Did you watch the second half of the vid? The dude picked this bike apart… super long startup, weak low end grunt, gross muffler. I think he did a good balance of talking about the good parts but not ignoring its faults
@randomspace64913 күн бұрын
@@dainjahrusIt's a super long start up only for limited plus packages. Which isn't excusable. I'm just saying. I have the limited. So I don't have that screen. So no long start up time. I just go. Granted that tech package shouldn't have that issue so I agree

I sat on an indian sport scout and this bike last weekend. I never realized how long the tank was by looking at videos. I ride an MT09 and being a short rider im pretty upright on it, on the indian scout I felt almost like I was laying on top of the tank. Super stretched out trying to reach the handle bars, I didn't get to test ride it, but that did not feel comfortable at all. The sport scout + tech I was interested in is $15,500 msrp, but out the door at the dealer here in california over $19k. So I basically decided im definitely not buying a scout even though I like the looks, the seating position felt weird reaching so far for the handlebar and forward controls, this bike should come standard with some 10 inch pull back risers, probably just going to buy a rebel 1100 for around 8k less. I test rode the rebel and at least at stand still it felt more comfortable to reach the handlebars.
@newbierides5 күн бұрын
Oh and since the handlebar reach felt so uncomfortable by seating on the bike, I looked at pricing to upgrade to a 10 inch risers which they have available on their website, the price to upgrade was around $700 just for the equipment, not including installation. So basically almost another thousand dollars just for parts to install it yourself.

@@ds6224 I am sure it would be possible to make it better with some pull back bars, but the bike itself is already expensive, and to upgrade it woud cost over $600. The classic scout didn't feel terrible with the bars, but I don't like the style.

I'm fifty and performance cruiser is where I'm at. Used to ride sportbikes and fast standards. I still enjoy adrenalin pulls and a well handling machine. I bought a prestine used 03 sportster 883. Installed a hammer 1275& upgraded suspension. I don't travel over a hundred so I feel I have a great everyday bike for less than ten grand. It keeps up with my vrod to a hundred and handles better. Pan America is the bike I'm looking at as a touring machine. Looks to me like the ultimate go anywhere machine.

I'll take my '81 GPZ550 for the classic coolness factor over this Indian, and my 2022 GSX-R 750 is both comfortable and fast in any reasonable riding situation. That said, it's nice to see Indian attempting a sportung cruiser.

If you had to choose bt the 101 or one of the Springfield models, which one would it be & why?

The sport chief is bigger ? I was just at Indian a few weeks ago . I’m 6’2 and I felt like I fit better in the 101 than any model of the chief

How would compare this to the Harley Low Rider S? I know, a different class of bike, but many riders like me are actually cross-shopping between the two. For motorcycle purists?
@4tech695 күн бұрын
No one is keeping the seat, foot pegs or exhaust. Them being not great is expected. I had a 2022 Low rider S and it was a great bike. But It was kind a one trick pony. I'm too young for that. I scout being less expensive might be a option to have in my collection of bikes.

As I humble European, "performance cruiser" thing just doesn't work for me. Regular cruiser is enough already.

Agree, if I want performance I’d ride my Ducati, my Indian scout is all about cruising
@randomspace64913 күн бұрын
I understand your statement tbh. But It is funny how people's main complaint in the comments is that it's too good for what it is 😂. Like yeah okay. How dare it. Not like ride modes and throttle control aren't a thing 😂. I kid i kid. But seriously, people clown on cruisers for being weak. But when a better performing cruiser comes out, all the sudden that's also an issue 😂. Cruisers shouldnt be too peppy or high revving. But then sport bikes guys clown on that part. But when one comes out and it's more in the middle, well........sport bike guys also have an issue with that 😂. Alright, if you got a ducati for better riding when you want it, good for you. But not everyone has 2 high end motorcycles. I think some people forget money isn't always endless for other people. For people who want a cruiser but also want to have fun when they want, but also only can have 1 or only want 1 bike. This is fine. Unless you like 6'5 ofc. It's a small bike

@@forkthepork Lean Angle 33°, Seat Height (Unladen) 26.8 in, Weight (Running Order) 549 lbs, 111hp. Fine as a cruiser just don't say it's performance. Now compare that to a $10k MT-09: Lean angle 52°, Seat Height 32.5 in, Weight (wet) 425lbs, HP 117. Most any naked or sport bike of equal or lesser value will have better performance than this.
