I have the JLC POLARIS MARINER DATE in blue and sold a Rolex to buy it. Absolutely love the watch and far more proud to wear it than the Rolex. Great brand.

Me too, I sold my date just 41mm for the a few polaris in the blue. Never looked back. At least I won't have my arm cut off in London for wearing it, because most won't know its true value

Most important thing about the clasp is not mentioned! The clasp have two on the fly micro adjustments. Particularly 2.5mm from each side of clasp. Must better system than on Rolex, Omega and rest...... I own this watch and I love it. I have almost 30 watches (Omega, Rolex, Blancpain, Brequet, Oris, Longines, Tudor, Tissot....), many are even more expensive than my JLC Polaris automatic, but from all 30 watches I own this is by far most comfortable one! My wrist is 18cm and it simply become part of my arm when I am wearing it. It is that good. Ergonomics, size, weight, centre of gravity, thickness....perfect balance. And that micro adjustments I mentioned before, during summer time when my wrist expands and shrinks....makes it absolutely perfect wear. Now....this is by no means diver watch. first only 100m water resistant, but more this lose rotating bezel....It is so lose and bi directional so,for any diver using it for purpose of diving it would be dangerous. I love rotating bezel; i am using them on all my divers almost every day for measing any activity, etc....but this one is so misleading cause even just rubbing against skin can rotate it! So, this is what I hate about this watch. It would be better to not having it, rather to having it, using it and possibly putting you into trouble. Movement is so precise! But only 40 hours power reserve ....not today standard. Last but not a least. From all my watches, even much bigger ones (with rotating bezel) this is by far watch with largest diameter of dial. And therefore so legible! With all good and bad.....I just love it! Watch that will stick with me very long time. Unless JLC make something same wearable(cannot be better than this) but fixing the bezel and power reserve

I am very conflicted with this particular Polaris model. I was initially set on purchasing this specific model, but I ended up with the Polaris Mariner Date. The Mariner is more of a dive watch while this Polaris is more of a sporty and daily watch. I would say it was worth it a few years ago, but with the price hikes they have done for the retail price of this piece, you’re better off with a different watch. And this is someone who is a big fan of JLC and have purchased two Reversos and a Polaris Mariner in the collection.

I am wearing my Rado Captain Cook, 42mm in blue with beads of rice stainless steel bracelet. I got this watch on a great deal, almost new for less than $1.100 Dollars. I have an Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra, a Rolex Datejust, a Longines Legend Diver and hands-down, the Rado is the watch I get the most compliments on. People seem to love this watch.

Watch check. I'm wearing my Tissot PRX Powermatic 80 with the blue dial and leather strap. Man, I love JLC watches,articularly the Reverso, but they do make other beautiful watches like the Polaris. Forget a Rolex, give me a JLC which had a distinguished heritage long before Rolex came on the scene. I like wearing a watch that's a bit under the radar, except to those who are also watch enthusiasts and appreciate the history and exceptional quality instead of the hype that goes with Rolex.

Movement in the back is far far too small for the case it’s ridiculously diminutive. It was the deal breaker for me.

I think it would be stupid if anyone should compare this watch to diving watches and therefore discredit it. There are enough everyday timekeeping options for which the watch is good and for which I don't need a chronograph. This watch is understatement at the highest level.

@sean1e1002 жыл бұрын
Dude, normally love your stuff but this is genuinely your worst upload yet. Big breath… 1:19 misaligned bezel, 2:51 this is absolutely technically NOT a diving watch (which would need 200m and a unidirectional bezel), 4:05 the answer / rebuttal isn’t a “are you ever gonna dive with this?”, which guys do with their Rolex’s and BlancPains, it’s a “this isn’t a dive watch. It’s a sports watch”, 4:47 bezel misaligned again, 6:55 your whole point here is what disqualifies this from being a dive watch, 9:13 “comes in a sunray pattern” … are you kidding me? Nothing ‘comes in a pattern’. “It has a sunray finish” or a “is finished to have a sunray effect” - let’s speak English now. 9:44 when you’re showcasing the dial in macro(ish), why would you leave the 12 marker at 57 1/2 mins? 10:16 that “dot” is a triangle. And if it was a diver it would be called a lume pip. Let’s just go with marker, shall we. Oh no.. hang on.. *tenses up… did you just say “un… faultable” at 12:12. Their movements are “unfaultable” 😬 I mean… where do we even go with that?! A) that’s not a word B) it’s not a f***ing word and C) because it’s not a word it’s absolutely meaningless in the point you’re trying to make. At 13:18 you couldn’t leave it could you without mispronouncing Jaeger-Le-Coutre one final time after promising in the first minute of the video you’d play it safe by just saying JLC… Ok… that was exhausting. I have no idea why this activated full troll mode in me today but there you go. Hopefully better next time big man. But for today… dear me. Dear, me.
@jaymicksee Жыл бұрын
There are a few different dive watch standards, but arguably the most important is ISO 6425, which requires a minimum of 100m and doesn't require a unidirectional bezel. I don't know if this particular watch meets all the requirements but its depth rating and bezel type shouldn't preclude it. Also, the misalignment you mentioned is of the rotating timing bezel, which doesn't have "clicks" - it's not a fault, just the way it has been set.

Power Reserve is 70 hours, this may be an older model. Of course the green one is the crowning jewel.
