I ran this manifold for 4 months, it rattled like hell for the first 2 months and even after welding, the POS rattled like coins in a can but this manifold would work great with turbo/superchargers. To confirm suspicion, it gains 5whp on the maxima and almost 7whp on the g35 n/a, which is no where near the advertised gains (I own both). Just get a nwp block off plate, some headers, exhaust, pulleys, tune and a functional intake and you'll be more than happy with a n/a setup. GREAT video, thank you for opening the eyes of others!

I just lightly ported, and polished my lower, upper, manifolds along with the elbow collector. Then port and polish the throttle body on my 03 Altima SE with the VQ35DE full NWP intake spacers 4 pcs kit. coolant bypass as well. More power above 4,000 RPM

As far as I've read all those complaints were from the old ssv version, this new revised version seems to have pretty good quality.

I strongly agree with you. I have the Kinetix Velocity Intake (not the SSV) on my 2005 350z with the non rev up de engine and I notice the gains above 6,100 rpms. This manifold, unlike a plenum spacer, is designed to sacrifice mid end power gains for high rpm gains above 6,100 rpms. With my car tuned, the car made 264 whp at 6,800 rpm with a cold air intake, test pipes, resonated y-pipe, and a 3 inch single. The tune extended the rev limit from 6,700 to 7,200 rpms. It made the power curve more flat after about 6,300 rpms compared to a stock plenum with a spacer where the power curve falls off after 6,200 rpm.
@bewareofmountainlions4429
@bewareofmountainlions4429 6 жыл бұрын
correct. You lose about 2-4 peak horsepower, but you gain around 10hp after like you said 6100rpm. Really wakes up the top end of the car. You really need a revup or a boosted application to take full advantage of this manifold.

yeah, the 03 and 04 have really bad air consumption. The intake manifold is tilted so the front cylinder doesn't get much air in them so I recommend a plenum spacer.

People don't understand that you just don't add all the aftermarket parts... Your supposed to also tune it after all the pieces are together so it can finally give you the small hp you wanted from the parts simple.

I just did some minor porting and polishing of the upper and lower plenum and definitely feel the difference without having a plenum spacer. There's plenty of rough sand casting that can be grinded out. Also the 6 horns can be better shaped and intakes opened up and polished for better flow. Nothing hard or complicated ,just time and patience.

I lost power on the low end but gained 18 on the high end, I sent it back because just the spacer gave me that with test pipes. Complete waste of money ! the only advantage i seen was the plugs, Coils, Valve covers were easier to get to other than that the thing sucks ! If they would lower the price to around $300 it might be worth it.

If you are not going for FI just do this: Planum spacer Big Throttle Body Exhaust A tune With that you will wing from 30to 40 hp and it will cost you around 1500 to 3000 Zs are a pain for gaining power even with FI, because of the cramped space and weak internals If you are on a budget leave it stock or do the above, those cars are pretty fun and charming in stock form, but they suffer to deliver modern performance

This intake is made for boost though. You will lose Torque and horsepower low and mid range RPM but at high RPMS you will gain because it will be needing the extra air velocity and you’ll gain a little hp but with a cat back exhaust and a turbo that intake will add another 30-40 hp with those other mods, now I’m not saying everyone is going to turbo their car, most people don’t have the money for that but if you are looking to turbo a 350z or g35 and like your car loud then this would be a good intake to buy and yes on my 350z I noticed a sound difference, I also have a cat back Tomei exhaust system

I have the gen 2 Kinetix on my 06 g35 hi rev motor and it made huge gains especially in higher rpm's. Sounds alot louder and nicer was very surprised. Not to mention looks great. Only bad thing was mine had some cosmetic issues. You can see clamp marks on each tube mostly underneath so just kept it. Drilled out threads were a bit sketchy. Take your time and work bolts in and out slowly. Overall well worth the money, looks great, sounds alot better and can feel extra power.

im running this manifold and strongly disagree with this information. i got a noticable increase in my lower rpms after install. 7k miles and not a single issue. only complaint id have is install because the passenger side bolts are a pain to torque down. PSA FOR EVERYONE CONSIDERING BUYING: ive had this manifold for about 8 months. This manifold says no tune required but that is bullshit. But i did notice hp gains but get the computer retuned

I agree with you on getting the car tuned for 2 reason. One, the Kinetix Velocity on a non rev-up 350z engine works best with the rev limiter increased from 6,700 to 7,100 rpms. 2. My car was originally tuned with the Z1 M-Spec Cold Air Intake with a 3 inch maf housing diamater, Z1 Single Exhaust, Z1 test Pipes, and the Z1 plenum spacer. Once I switched to the Kinetix Velocity Manifold, I did a data log run with the Uprev Program and I noticed the Manifold made the car run lean at WOT. I got the car retuned and now this car with the Kinetix Velocity has better top end gains above 6,100 rpm than the stock plenum with a spacer.

For $700, I'd rather get ITB's and that 30HP is hard to believe , the only bolt on that can give you those numbers are headers. you can probably get equal or more performance by getting a factory Maxima/ Altima manifold and gut the internals.

@@richardsharma283 You're entirely wrong. There is a lower plenum kit on the market that will allow the use of GTR intakes. The cost versus gain isn't really worth it though, as by the time you buy the lower plenum and even a stock GTR intake, you're pushing more than $700 usually (used part cost variation), and if going through the trouble for boost flow, then a aftermarket GTR intake pushes into the $1000+ range for the setup.
