I have a Macbook Air M1 base model since fall 2021. Still don't fell the need to upgrade after 3 years of usage for DJing and electronic music production! And not to mention that now is so quiet in my studio! 😁
@IcemanTheDjАй бұрын
Meanwhile I got the M4 Mac Mini base model! Smaller footprint, cheaper, also quiet. For me was primary for the ram upgrade from 8GB to 16GB. Now I also don't need an extra hub for monitor output and extra ports. But still the M1 Macbook Air would do the job, especialy if you need a laptop not a desktop, what Mac Mini is...

for music production specifically the M1 Max chip actually out-performs the whole M2 and M3 line ... check out James Zhan for super in depth videos on this topic, but basically our DAWs operate better with the M1 chip due to it having more 'performance' cores over 'efficiency' cores.

It might be a hardware issue that might require the laptop to be taken apart but there’s a solution within audacity. 1. Record your voice and then allow 5-10 minutes of silence so that the hissing can be recorded by itself 2. Highlight the part where you’re not speaking and then go into effects, select noice reduction and then click on “get noise profile” 3. Highlight the whole waveform and then go back into noise reduction, play around with the reduction faders and click on okay/apply. Let me know if it works
