This game is a visual and audio delight with solid controls and level design. I had this game when I was young, and it really showcased the then new SNES' hardware abilities well.

I'm not trying to be a smart ass, but just for your own info I'll say this here. The third game in the series, "Mickey to Donald," actually is "Mickey *and* Donald" in English. That isn't the English word "to," it's actually a Japanese participle (pronounced more like the English "toe"), which basically means "and." It's a common and understandable mistake.

Craplatte it doesn’t look bad, but it’s definitely not accurate bcuz it looks like the old school Mickey design. (See the comparison when this video shows Mickey in the third game with Donald Duck)

I kinda like Mickey's accidental retro look here... A nice cousin to NES DuckTales for me. Very nice graphics & sounds, & after initial puzzling run throughs, it's fun to just pick up & go. Save states on the mini is a plus, one of 21 titles I hack added.

This was the very first game I played as a kid. Second miniboss gave me hell for years, but then i finally beat it at 8 years of age. The fact that I was thumping my feet to the melody of this game showed how awesome the soundtrack.

I’ve had this game since I was a kid and honestly I’ve always loved it. It’s so simple that even if it’s been years, I can pick up the controller and enjoy it instantly. The colors and art make me smile and bring me back to a simple time.

Totally & absolutelly WPT (worth playing...). One of my Snes favs. A little marvel of music, ambience, graphs and good mechanics (cause of the different costumes). Disney was great in 8-16 bit consoles.

I had kind of the same experience with this franchise that I had with Final Fight. When I was a kid, for all I know, it only existed this game. I didn't even know there were sequels for it. And I have a lot of fond memories of renting this cartridge and playing the shit out of it. Then emulation came and I was able to play the sequels, and just like it happened with Final Figh (whose sequels - specially the third - are far better than the original) I was blown away by this games sequels. I hope you make a video about them soon enough.

Its a fun little platform, I played thought it not long ago. I didn't see any of the hidden shops, I must of missed that. The end bosses take way to many hits to kill and gets kinda repetitive and I wish when you change costumes you could pause the game. Castle of Illusions is my favorite Mickey game and in that the end bosses only take a few hits to kill but still worth a play though.

This game is a must-have. When I was a kid I used to play this with my friend and no one couldn't beat the game in hard mode. Nowadays I can, but this game was good enough to consider a must-have that you might want to have

I think it's because Mickey is thinner than he needs to be? He should be more round, but you get a more accurate mouse head. Interesting concept with the clothes. It's megaman-esque, but with a but more implementation by the looks of it. Good video, man. I'll have to check this one out one day.

One of the first SNES games I've ever played as a young kid. A very good platformer I might add. Fond memories! Speaking of platformers, have you ever played SMARTBALL (aka JERRY BOY on the Super Famicom)? It's definitely one of the many obscure titles on the SNES.

I remember when I was a kid I rented this game on my SNES and was blown away by the lush beautiful graphics. Keep in mind that at the time all we knew was NES games and super Mario world on SNES. Super Mario world was a huge step up from NES games, but was only beginning to tap into the potential of the SNES hardware, so this game was a step up from even that.

Hey now, it's not bad these days. The modern Mickey Mouse cartoons and Ducktales revival are great, at least. Can't say I'm a big fan of them remaking all their animated classics as live-action stuff lately, though.

I absolutely LOVED this game. When i would beat SoM, SoE, or FF6, I would have to rent something else and I took a gamble on this and L O V E D. Rented it ao many times because it's such a blast. Love the graphics and powers too. So much fun and just the right level of challenge for a platformer.

I just played through the Trilogy & omg I can’t believe I forgot how good these games are!! The Pixel Art/Sprites are BEAUTIFUL & the OST is killer! I like Part 2&3 because when you play as the other characters & change there outfit it’s a different look than Mickey’s To bad Capcom & Disney will never release a Collection though 😢

This is really damn good for an early SNES title. Fortunately, the subpar Mickey sprite here would evolve into the fluid cinematic sprite of Mickey Mania.

Some info about Mickey games. Disney was strict about how Mickey was presented in games as in they didn't want him to do thing's that were overly violent. That's why Sega implemented the butt bump it was a light move compared to being very physical to enemies and killing they didn't want it. Apparently dev teams didn't have an easy time with Disney breathing dowm their necks about it. Sega had to deal with this probably the worst.

IMHO this game is a must have for any collector. The graphics are amazing, the music sounds very realistic (sometimes you think you are listening to a real orchestra playing), the controls are solid and you can select your difficulty level so the replay value is there. I've had it since I got my SNES a gazillion years ago and still play the sh*t out of it.

I played this game on a retron device and the spider boss couldn't display on the screen; it was invisible so I couldn't beat it. I don't know if it was the LCD screen or the retron device I was using that was causing the problem.

Magical Quest is a good game, I like the uses of the costumes and the detailed backgrounds in some levels. But it's too short. Especially the ice and mountain levels. I also feel like the game didn't take full advantage of the costumes to provide more challenges.

I totally agree with the mickey sprite thing. It never seemed to look quite right and is inferior to the castle of illusion sprite. Still a good game though. Sure it’s short and easy but it’s still fun.

I remember shortly after I got my SNES as a kid. My old man rented this for me and my little brother and ended up hogging the game for the 3 days it was rented. He used to get so pissed off at the fire boss. Especially since just before we returned it. I ended up beating the fire boss in front of him, I remember him saying "Ok thats enough. We need to get it back to the video store." Good times

I remember these games I loved them and I'm still disappointed that the 3rd title in the trilogy is Japan-exclusive. Only way I was able to play the 3rd title was through emulation with a English Fan-translation patch.
