Is the Metroid Prime Trilogy the answer for Prime 2 and 3 ports?

Minor Correction: Nintendo did not port Metroid Prime 3: Corruption to the Wii. Metroid Prime 3 was released on the Nintendo Wii.

Thanks for watching! The remaster is a good place to start but you're right, there's no good way to play Prime 2 and 3 :( they still hold up well on the Wii, but acquiring one and a copy of the trilogy edition or both separately is a big ask.

If you'd like to play the older games you could download dolphin and the entire prime trilogy with updated textures and 1080p 60fps, it's called prime hack and there are vids on KZbin to download it! I have it and it runs so good on my machine

Seperate Remade releases. Metroid Prime 3 with full dual Joystick support. The motion interactions could just be transferred to the Dpad or joystick. It will work well enough. I would also want a full remake of Prime Hunters with Multiplayer on Switch 2

I would really want Prime 2 to be remastered but I know 1 took a while to remaster and 4 is still being worked on. Maybe if they wanna avoid Prime 3's giant motion control blockade. Duel stick enjoyers could have an option to just skip motion controls by like maybe activating it with a button instead and using the joystick to control her hand and maybe have it lock onto to the proper area such as a boss's weak point.

Hear me out, if they do end up porting or remastering 3 the motion controls could just be a button like it is if you play with the primehack on pc. It actually works very fluidly and would be a way for them to implement dual analog on prime 3.

Metroid Prime 2 is my favorite Metroid game and one of my favorite games in general. I'd love for it to get the full remaster treatment alongside 3 but understand if that's not in the cards. However, I do think these games should be playable in some format before Prime 4 releases.

With how close Prime 4 is coming out, maybe we may not see anything. Prime 4 would have to come out along with Switch 2, so it might end up being at the end of next year. The porta would have to come out Q1 of next year, but I know that if they do, then we will never see a remaster of Prime 2 and I bet it would be successful given how good the reception for Prime 1 was.

I can see Nintendo taking a similar approach with Metroid Prime 2 and 3 as they did with Pikmin 1 and 2 before the release of Pikmin 4. Instead of a full remaster like Prime 1, they might go for a lighter update: maybe enhanced HD visuals, some reworked textures, and the new control scheme already seen in Prime 1 Remastered.

@@crywolfplays It would be fantastic to see Metroid Prime 4 release, ideally with an Echoes remaster beforehand. Since Echoes is quite similar to Prime 1, a remaster would likely require less effort, making it a fitting lead-up. Then, following Prime 4, a full remake of Corruption could address its larger issues, such as some outdated cinematics, animations, and occasionally lackluster lighting.

The way the music stops and then restarts when the '2' comes onto the screen is chilling I think best case scenario is they put downloadable, straight port of standalone Prime 2 and Prime 3 for a cheaper price, kind of like what they did for Pikmin 1+2s Switch ports. Prime 1 Trilogy and Prime 2 Trilogy were actually released seperately in Japan as New Play Control versions - the trilogy bundle wasn't released there. Still, I don't see it happening seeing as we're like a year away from Prime 4, but I'd love to be proved wrong. I'd double dip, would be great to play Prime 2 without having to hook up my Wii. Could never get to grips with dual analog in Remastered though, I don't know why. Keep it up CryWolf!

I love how the menu starts out with subtle choirs and the heart beat and the conflicting light and dark imagery and then paused like you said to come in with a more powerful theme on the logo, chills yeah lol at this point I'd be fine with straight ports like Pikmin, I just wish they'd add some form of controls other than motion to make them more approachable and portable to systems in the future that might not have motion or joy cons

​@@crywolfplaysI grew up the Wii, so I can generally tolerate a lot of motion control BS if I'm being honest, but yeah, they aren't always ideal. I might try motion in Remastered with those settings you mentioned, never gelled with dual-analog.. There are 1st party games that essentially don't have switch lite support. Super Mario Party probably being the highest profile example, although that was released before the lite came out. I kinda doubt Prime 3 would get dual-analog.. While we're on the topic, what's your opinion on Prime 3? Having finished MP2 I want to get through Remastered and Prime 3 before Prime 4 comes out..do you have a video about it?

@@IntrestingYTObserver Yeah I actually enjoyed the Wii controls more than most I think, I think the wii mote does sort of feel like a stand-in for the arm canon and is pretty fluid to use. In terms of Prime 3, I enjoyed the game but I don't think it's quite as polished or "metroid-feeling" as the first two. It focuses a bit too much on cinematics that haven't aged well and feels a bit rushed/overly focused on motion controls. however it's still a great game worth playing, I talk about it extensively in this video about what a remaster might look like: kzbin.info/www/bejne/b32rq4Cfbrxgg5I The video might sound a little harsh because it focuses on improvements for a remaster but overall I do think it's a good game. What I love to do is to look at ALL Metroid games and which ones you can play on Switch... Metroid 1-5: all are on Switch as original releases. Games 1-4 on NSO. Game 5 as native game (Oct 8, 2021). Game 1 and 2 got remakes but not available on Switch. Or is game 1 (Zero Mission?) on NSO? Metroid Prime 1-4: Game 1 recently ported. Game 2 and 3 are still "wet dreams". Game 4 is planned for a 2025 release on "Switch". But there's more! Metroid Other M! The Wii game. Never played it but I got it. And then there are a few more Metroid games. I think those are on DS and 3DS. Are these games any good?? I have no idea. I bought Prime 1 for Switch. So I don't know if I would prefer 2 and 3 or Trilogy. If would be amazing with these releases in 2025: Prime Trilogy Special Edition Prime 4 Special Edition Note that They released Metroid Dread also as Special Edition. I believe they did the same for Metroid 2 on 3DS or if that was a Metroid edition of 3DS? Prime 1 for Switch was not also as Special Edition. This leaves the door open for a Prime Trilogy Special Edition :)

We'll to be honest Metroid Prime 3 Corruption has aged well enough to the point that it could probably by with simple HD Port with slighty updated visuals and textures, Metroid Prime 2 Echoes on the other hand that totally needs a HD Remaster big time.
