The lack of compatibility with the Gen 2 Apple Pencil and (probably) lack of compatibility with the existing Magic Keyboard on the 11” M4 Pro makes it a hard no for me. I’m not dropping another $300 for another keyboard. Like I hate being that guy, but that’s ridiculous

Have never owned an iPad even though I've long toyed with the idea of getting one simply because I've been craving a new graphics tablet. I never got great at drawing in general, but I had fun waaaay back in the day with a giant Wacom. So the appeal of drawing directly on a screen has been in the back of my mind, and I think this new M4 iPad Pro with Pencil Pro is the combo I've been waiting for. I can't imagine I'll be doing a lot of other stuff with the iPad because I have a MacBook Pro and a desktop PC (hooked up to my home theater), so my media consumption and productivity needs are already satisfied. This would really just be about having a nice drawing tool.

iPads are the tablet version of fully loaded $100k trucks that stick to the pavement and never haul anything heavier than 5 bags of soil or boxes of girl scout cookies. So few consumers actually utilize the product to its fullest and could easily have saved hundreds, if not thousands, just to babysit their children with a KZbin playing device.

Don't know if I'm the only one, but imo a tablet is a tablet computer and every single iPad or Galaxy Ultra whatever is just a huge smartphone in capabilities. No thanks, but I'm very happy running full desktop apps on Windows 11 on my Surface Pro 9 with i5 12th gen... Plenty of power and no overheating thanks to active cooling, which apple seams to think you don't need, even while running long workloads. Anyway, great tablet Microsoft!

Used surface pro before and it froze several times in store while running photoshop so you’re lying 😂

I would get the 11” 1TB silver with Apple Care monthly, then this fall get the black Magic Keyboard and Apple Pencil Pro. I believe then the AppleCare+ automatically extends to these additional first party devices indefinitely 👀

Hopefully they make a an updated oled m1 mini with a 120hz screen. That size is great for mobile gaming and best size for content consumption for me,

At least they finally killed the lightning ipads off. The cheapest ipad finally has USB-C.

There is a RAM difference also. 8GB or 16GB and number of cores difference for Pros below 1TB

With the new M chips, Apple will get rid of the MacBook's all together. People were asking for touch screen macbook, well here it comes.

If they enable macOS on the new iPad pros it will be very very tempting…

Dude, an unrelated comment but when Austin said, "If you are unfamiliar with TOPS..." and he kept talking very slowly. I was like Gurl, at this point, I AM unfamiliar with tops, have you check Grindr lately? 😅😂

I use my iPad Pro 12.9 2020 for drawing and making GIFS, the keyboard looks cool, but... I tend to use it as a second screen in Mac OS in Photoshop, illustrator and InDesign

See I think if your looking at it as a Mac replacement you shouldn't get one. It's an iPad that can still do most of what a Mac can do. You have to still want an iPad. For me I use my ipad pro for gaming, flight apps and content consumption. And it's nice that it does all those things really well. I have used an iPad pro for a few years as my only devise. That said I've never had a Mac I've only ever used ipad.

Do you keep switching to the side camera just to screw with Austin so he is looking at the wrong one?

It’s great to have the option😢 I have the m1 12.9 and I feel the performance is average. Glitching and poor battery life for performance

BTW, The best processor is only available on the 1tb and 2tb !!! 8gb ram vs 16gb and the core also are upgraded on 1tb and + vs the 512gb and -

The iPad Mini 6 was so good that Apple felt no need to update it.

It’s outrageous the iPads can’t put a TB as the starting point. I don’t want to rely on cloud storage for everything.

I was hoping a surprise announcement on the iPad Mini - not because I would need it, happy with the Air - but many people like it and it has its own use case. Sadly it hasn't happened.

I will for the oled screen, I use mine for watching movies, I don’t need the keyboard or anything

iPad mini is for children, notes and that’s really it. Companies sure Ive had 3 or 4 12.9 iPad and never got a keyboard. I’ve considered but 12.9 never really got good case & keyboards options. I get cases with an infinity stand. It’s mostly used as a tv so I need a sturdy stand with multiple adjustments. I’ve been begging for a 12.9 inch iPad Air because of the price of a iPad Pro is so expensive even though I’ve had multiple the price has always been wild however I see that the 13 inch iPad Air is a M2 chip I would have liked a M3 chip instead. Yes I don’t do much but I think a M3 chip would be better over the next five years than a M2 chip

Yes, you can't reuse your Apple Pencil 2nd gen with the new iPad Pros but hey if you're upgrading from the iPad and you have a USB-C Apple Pencil, you CAN reuse them on the new iPad Pros. So as John Ternus mentioned in the keynote (35:10) you actually have TWO Apple Pencil models to chose from ... 😂

As an owner of a 3rd gen ipad pro, I think I'm finally upgrading to the M4 pro.
