I used to own a Rockerverb 100 MKIII but I ended up selling it and going with a Helix. If I wasn't lazy and my dainty little arms could handle carrying it and my PPC212 cab to and from gigs then I would still have it. However I have the strength of 2 and a half e-girls at the most. The Rockerverb is still the best sounding and feeling amp I have ever played. Honestly I would probably get one again but a 50 watt instead just because I never played it over halfway on the volume and thats with the attenuator on half as well...and this video isn't helping wallet. :3

@@Magic_Man916 It is absolutely stunning. The clean sound is CLEAN, not dirty like on the Rocker 15 Terror, and the drive is fat as can be. Totally hooked by this amp. It's magic. (But the Rocker 15 Terror is killer too, just softer on the gain side, and the clean channel is more cleanish than clean, the Rockerverb has a hell lot more of headroom !)

Hey Jon your videos helped me pull the trigger when a used but great condition RV100 MKIII popped up in my local gear market for a GREAT price. This has become one of my favorite amps over the past weeks - I'm barely touching my 5150 and modellers. The thick, guttural Orange filth is addicting for heavy riffs and the juicy midrange is a dream for leads. Boosted, it's another animal with so much focused punchiness. Absolutely love it.

Yeah, I love my Rockerverb 50. It’s everything I’ve wanted a JCM800 to be. The midrange is so perfect, most of the time when recording I don’t do anything to the signal except some light compression.
@Mark_of_the_Bear_Studios3 жыл бұрын
This definitely reinforces my decision to supplement my lo-wattage rig with a Crush 20 - the preamp is supposed to be based on the Rockerverb, and adds a Sunn Beta-esque solid state grit to my multiple signal paths. I built 2 2x12s about 20 years ago, and still use them as my main source of projection. My DSL20 (yes, your demo helped me masks up my mind in that one too) goes through a closed back 200w cab and I have a 3-channel mix going through an open back cab, and the combined impact and bass response of those two and the Orange is MASSIVE and super fat. But I’m off track here… Oh yeah, so once again, your skill at this type of demo is unrivaled by any other content creator I have seen. And your positive vibes and demeanor are something we could all aspire to. Well-done, sir. I dig your style!

I have one and I'm using it 🙂. I am in a cover band, though. So I have to find solutions for more bluesy songs (say SRV). What I find is that when you want a more clean sound, it does not have enough treble on the "clean channel". Solved by 2 things: do not attenuate to much,... + (amazing, but true) use a Tube Screamer with minimal gain and max treble; this sounds AMAZING. For the hard core rock stuff... of course no trouble finding the tones (even on the "clean"). Next thing I want to do is experiment with my Boss Eq pedal... Buy this amp and have ridiculous fun!
@cliveloosley8018 Жыл бұрын
Rockerverbs do start getting dirty very quickly… If you want a clean Orange that can be dirty when you need it, get a Tremlord which has more clean headroom and a beautiful, almost ‘60s Marshall kind of sound until you crank it right up, and you can use your pedals to push it into high gain when appropriate…

for me the bigest diference between the 50watts vs the 15watts is the feeling of the preamp. If feels there's more voltage inside, and there is! the sound is thicker and crunchier.... pluging the JR#4 preamp into the the power 50watts powwer amp doesn't sound the same! ... by the way, the attenuator its just a Post Phase Inverter Master Volume (PPIMV) it doesn't burn the El34s ;)

I have a question about your experience with this Rockerverb MKiii. Great demo, as always btw. I've owned several Orange amps, and I've found that a couple of them seriously lacked low end in the dirty channel unless the gain is up pretty high. For example, my OR15 sounded pretty thin until I set the gain somewhere between crunch and high-gain. I also own a Dual Terror, which does not seem to have this problem. Nice and full all the way through. My third Orange amp is the newer Super Crush 100. It's said to be modeled very closely after the Rockerverb. The dirty channel on the Super Crush is very difficult for me to use. It sounds like there's a bass cut until you hit high-gain territory (between 2:30 and 3 O'clock on the gain dial). Sounds thin below this gain range. I was wondering if the Rockerverb also responds this way or if this is just a quirk of the solid state Super Crush. What is your experience? Do you feel like the Rockerverb has strong low-end response in the crunch tones (between 11 and 1 O'clock on the gain dial)? There are none available to try in my area, and I'm afraid if I order one, I might find that the gain channel doesn't have a nice full sound unless I'm in high-gain territory. What's your opinion? Thank you!
