As someone that knows nothing about AX combat, this seemed a bit lackluster? Capable sure, but from what I've seen you cover the Mk2 is shaping up to be another "meh" ship like the Mamba was. The Krait line & the Chief really shine as the three best "new" ships we've received. Everything else like the Challenger/Crusader/Mamba just seems to have some kind of drawback or flaw that kinda kills it honestly in my opinion. Like why run a Mamba when an FDL works better most of the time? Aside from looking gorgeous anyway...

I would personally go for large axmc by having an armoured pp, thermal spread since you have tons of heatsinks anyway. Lasers constantly on the titan means you stay cold too.

Not a fan, to be honest. But that is just me not liking shield builds for AX-combat in general. I prefer armour builds but that doesn't seem possible on the MK2 with those low amount of optional internal slots. I am kind of spoiled by the Krait MK2 and Anaconda ;D

I think going all the way with low emissions on the power plant is sacrificing too much. Sure it's nice to be that cold, but just partial low emissions make you pretty cool and gives you more wiggle room. I've managed to even do titan bombing with an overcharged power plant. Not so fun, but possible. Just keep beaming the titan. Also low power shields would save you some power and mass. With shields with no boosters you don't even lose that much MJ. Full size multi-cannons might be too tasking for the distro, though. Even those undersized ones were slowly draining it. Missiles are probably easier on the distro.

Honestly you are better off using size 3 multis and just power 1/2 at a time leaving the others for extra ammo when first set runs out.

I'd put the torpedo on the bottom nose, cuz of how i bomb the vents. Plus, I'd use Sirus ax missles for max T. vent damage. leave the Scouts to better equipped ships. ❤ Great video.

I'm running class 3 Azimuth EAXMCs on mine by trading reinforced shields for enhanced low power and low-draw. I managed to do quite a lot of damage to Hadad with it, sometimes close to 2m worth in one good run.

I am having tremendous fun with this ship in AX. Base defenses are a joy and I've cleared out a few with it. I have tried a solo titan assault. Without doubt, the Krait is better but this one is more fun.

The lack of optional internals is one of the main problems with the Python MK2. there is no room for anything lol I would say loose the fuel tank and put a 4e cargo rack, then take out the 3D module and put 3A Repair limpet in that slot, but then you aren't able to use as many SCO boosts, so more interdictions, especially traveling to far away Titans, but then you will only have 1 module and 1 hull reinforcement, not good for Maelstroms lol I mean pick your poison, any way you slice it the MK2 isn't really equipped for this type of task, maybe go shieldless, but still that will only give you fuel, or another reinforcement. If it only had like one more class 5 or 6 optional internal slot, then it would have 1/2 a chance. 😂 o7

I'd run it as a cool AF explorer, class 6 fuel scoop, class 5 guardian FSD booster, hangar, AFMU, surface scanner(the main limitation that'd be overcome here is being limited to a slightly lower jumprange due to a class 4 guardian FSD booster) such a shame (edit: a fuel tanks in some spare slots as well I guess)

Just so you know, ECMs have no effect on Thargoid missiles or any other weapon systems.

What are you talking about? ECMs stop scythe missiles i know this for a fact because you use them on every single rescue mission when the scythes hyperdict you on the way out of the invasion system. You need the ECM to avoid your FSD getting rebooted by their shutdown missiles

The Python MK2 is a weak AXI-fighter. I can imagine it with four machine guns and two vent lasers, with a low energy shield and only support in the wing when a partner can pump up the shield and restore the hull. In autonomous combat, without support and repair, his life is short-lived. This ship really disappointed me. I expected more from him.

Honestly, on my titan runs I expected 2, 3 at most shots at the core before I bought it. I don’t bother with repair limpits. I just plan on causing some damage and Re spawning back on the carrier.

@@mikewaterfield3599 But then you have to go back from the carrier to the titan for a long time, wasting time. Even more damage could have been done during this precious time. Very frequent rebuying is the wrong tactic, imo. If we talk about battles in conflict zones, the viability of this ship is doubtful. I think we should wait for the reports from AXI & XSF, but I do not hope for a positive mark.

@@seryvouk4966 ive got billions in the bank and about 12k tons of tritium still on the carrier. Besides with a hybrid FSD goid interdiction should be way down.
