Shields ruins it though because it gives it away that it's not completely dirty. My gf playing Moira on the other hand is highly clippable. She used to joke but now she'll actually yell during clutches "I'M TRYING TO PEE ON YOU HOLD STILL"

One thing I didn’t hear mentioned about sigma is that each of his cooldowns can cancel a type of ultimate. Shield for things like dva bomb, suck for things like captive sun and blizzard, and rock to stun ults like coalescence or sigma’s gravity flux. No other tank has as many ultimate cancel options

Yeah, when playing as ball I feel like my biggest complaint is usually when im 1v2 or 1v3 with both their supports peeling for like 10 seconds or more and your team cant seem to comprehend they have a numbers advantage against players with no healing. Pretty frustrating to watch people lose a 4v2 with 2 healers to 0 and then they turn around and blame you for it.

Part of the reason I stopped playing. Dive both supports, their DPS handholder peels back, the rest of the enemy team just murders your team like they never learned to aim or use abilities without a tank standing between them and an enemy. Then, of course, it's always YOUR fault because you didn't play Rectangle Man.

teamcomp is pretty important id say. As a non-dive dps player, the amount of time a ball player expected me to just go through sig/ram/dva and do dmg is annoyin. Id prefer them to distract their tank so i can shoot the backline. Its just working with your team and find out what's hindering them from doing dmg

@MefoWho I feel like team comp in ranked is really not that important for most elos. You can still out play people that should theoretically counter you because theres always something you could be doing better. Also its not really coordinated and people will often one trick because thats what they are good at. I dont feel like it's a good mindset to expect your teammates to do anything if you wanna climb though tbh. You just gotta do what you can to be a better player in any situation.

Been playing ranked from the beginning of Season 1 OW1 and it's just knowledge, how to guides and more and more of an understanding. But this game has gotten different and the "Harder" view might be from the lack of a second tank, when you had 2 tanks it was a lot easier to do things and there were a lot more options. Now there's only 1 Tank to focus

I agree. If anything I think tank has generally been the hardest role in terms of adjusting to the 5v5 format. And currently anyone not playing Maui, I mean mauga just does not get to play the game. For example I wouldn’t say I one trick rein but hes definitely my most played and best/most comfortable hero I play. And yet playing him is also currently the least viable as sad as it is. Especially in the current state of the game it’s just pick mauga, get the supports you need, and mauga off

Ram IS good vs Mauga but almost only in staff form due to shield, better long rang damage, and smaller hitbox. What I have found is that Nemesis is best used against Mauga's team, attacking Mauga when he doesnt have overdrive (still iffy cause of the crazy damage you will take), or just to survive with block or trying to run away. Otherwise, if you have to fight up close, being in staff form is the better bet until an opportunity arises.

I play both on a better-than-average level, and it seems like Ram is just food for Mauga. Since you reap Berserker in either Ram form, but more so in Nemesis. And if you are blocking in Nemesis, an overrun stun can annihilate any hope of negating enough damage to survive much longer

⁠@@knightvibes826i don’t know what better than average mean but in mid masters ramatra is so bad vs mauga because you can’t use your nemesis form when he is up because eather you will die immediately or you will hold block all the time and do nothing .the problem is that you can’t even do something in your normal form because ignoring the the tank and going for the other with 400hp is just not an option .the only counter is to wait till all the mauga are rank inflated so that you play with diamond mauga in master or you wait till they decided they sold enough battle pass and nerf him

Regarding the player base being better, I think how 5v5 functions vs 6v6 can have a big impact. In OW1 I barely scraped gold as a support but have hit low Diamond a few different times in OW2. I highly doubt my skills have improved that much to make such a large jump.

I think that's because of the new influx of players when ow2 releases. Naturally, veteran ow1 are better at the game, so they get a bump in their rank tier when the average skills decrease.

@@boopdeeb9444 I feel like that is partially the reason for the jump as well. Going up 3 ranks isn't entirely on that though. Plus the person who wrote the question actually went down. That's where I think the style of game could be having an impact.

I've gone up to diamond in support and high plat in DPS but my tank is low plat. Tank was my highest in OW1 but it's dreadful in OW2. I enjoyed playing off tank more than main.

Regarding the question about the Mercy doing a double pocket for both DPS. One of the best ways to pressure the Mercy is put pressure on the other support and force her to peel for them. Or at least that is what I have had the best success if I'm going up against a dps pocket that I can't straight up deal with for whatever reason.

Ranked is just full of ppl that don't care and duos or more. I have had so many bad tanks in gold-silver, also so many people quit out. I'd say 1 out of 5 matches has a leaver.

Regarding movement - It's one of those "invisible" skills in OW. Learning how to juke/wiggle and make yourself a harder target goes a long way. It's always interesting to hear metal ranks talk about their elim/dmg output while claiming they should be higher rank. Okay, but all your targets walk in straight lines in wide open spaces. Even if you're in a rush to walk from A to B, if someone is shooting at you, it's good to move back and forth on your way there. Practice spamming A/D/A/D/A/D (or wiggle your stick on console), practice reading your enemy in duels and moving side to side away from their aim. APM/IPM isn't often discussed in OW, but it would be interesting to see if there is any correlation; do Bronze players press less buttons than T500?

I literally had the same issue when making a new account. I wanted to play with lower rank friends without smurfing in their games, because that just seems cruel. So I make a new account and played only my very worst heroes... and placed higher than my peak.

Kiri main here. Regarding Mauga ults, I personally save my kitsune for them. (If it’s a good cage fight.) I throw that (depending on a number of factors) and then go in and heal bot everything, and that seems to work pretty well

Hey I’m a mid master 13 year old tank who also inspires to be pro and my idea to get the hang of it is to join a skrim team to improve with coms and team work I’m also in my high school overwatch team but most of the other teams are golds and plats witch I feel isn’t enough to force someone as shy as me to talk because I don’t need it to win

At 13 you should be GM. You will never be good enough to be successful at e sports if you haven’t made it already. If you are shy and can’t talk to people their rank isn’t the issue lol. Make yourself talk to people constantly or you will be an unemployed loser as an adult.

That's def just a skill issue rather than a nerf. There is absolutely nothing stopping any player from going into a custom match and studying the maps. If a player doesn't want to study a map and expects to know everything about it, that's just a personal problem. I find that yes, with the new maps my health pack knowledge is a bit weaker, but I'm smart enough to understand that it's an issue on my end.

Ranked is absolutely easier now and the playerbase is noticeably worse. Every single person I know that played OW1 is basically ranked an Elo tier higher than they were previously. People who were stuck masters and could never crack GM are now firmly and consistently in GM. People who were just cracking Diamond, now just cracking masters. People who were hard stuck mid-Gold, now hard-stuck mid-Plat. Everyone rose a tier on the bloat of all the bad new players.

For me it feels like the player base has gotten worse, i understand there's new players as well but before i could not break high masters (3950). Now gm5/gm4 games feel like my diamond games did back then, but it could also just be that i got better. As a tank that is, most of the time it just feels like my team is either rolling or their team is. For the most part it feels a lot easier to tank in OW2 as i can just ignore their tank. GM3+ games feel like it hangs mostly on dps and that the tank doesn't die, to provide that space by simply existing.

Lowkey I feel like our skill is much more of a range than a hard number. I think if you put a hard stick diamond in to masters lobbies they could stay there. It’s just with climbing I think you have to be nearly 2 ranks higher to absolutely carry

For the remaing player base I think the “new players” that come to overwatch aren’t so new at least all new. I just started playing and I almost reached diamond even though I only played for a month. Although players are new to a game doesn’t mean they can’t transfer their skills of mechanics and aiming to another game. I come from paladins and was master now in over watch reaching diamond although new I still a hardcore gamer.

End of OW1 was way sweatier. It was nearly the same patch multiple years in a row with only the most hardcore fans. OW2 you can tell it has gotten way more casual. Rank inflation is crazy too. I wish they kept old stats because you see former silver/gold players in Masters constantly. People do get better over time but getting 4-5 skill tiers better just because the game changed isn't common. Ranked system is broken currently and we don't have the numbers from Blizzard so I'm guessing it isn't something they would be proud to share.

Sombra ruins the game in my opinion. Being able to invis/stealth & pop up behind the backline & grab 1 or 2 so consistently is outrageous. The time stealthed needs drastically reduced or she needs to be slightly seen from so many meters away. Nothing makes me want to kill app faster than a sombra just popping up behind people with 0 game recognition via any audio/visual concept to even the playing field in a game BASED on positioning that she quite literally gets to skip with 0 downside
