I could spend hours listening to your playing. Some of the most amazing guitar tones and clean playing I've ever heard. I wish I could make my guitar sound like that. I put any gain and it sounds muddy right away. Your sound is punchy and aggressive but clear as water.

When I had originally got this pedal I thought it was terrible I tried preamp and effects loop and both were terrible however after learning how this pedal interacts w my gear I found that it is the best pedal I have ever owned. It has the crispness and aggressive bite Ive always wanted. This is my main distortion pedal now
@mikeythedistasteful6 жыл бұрын
I just got this pedal and it is fucking insanity. I play mostly 80s hard rock, metal and a little glam and the g3 nails all of those styles perfectly. I could also see it for like classic led zep style rock too.

I got this pedal and love it man, I personally hate silent switches if you’re singing and can’t look at the floor to engage your distortion is very nice to be able to feel the switch through your shoe I don’t see the advantage of a silent foot switch
@andyjor5745 жыл бұрын
I've been going back and forth between reviews of Earthquaker Devices' Palisades, Friedman BE-OD Deluxe and the Revv G3. That clarity even though it's on the high gain side made me decide to choose this over the other pedals.
@mananakoa24122 жыл бұрын
Awesome demo Robert! Totally agree on the switch and color thing. Lataz!
@thisguy29733 жыл бұрын
I feel like clicky switches only bother people who are engaging the pedal with their fingers. Clicky switches have been a thing forever and when you’re placing your body weight over it, the only difference is the tactility of clicky switches. I don’t necessarily like silent switches because they feel broken. I always wind up kicking them twice and wonder why they’re not on lol
@FringeSpectre5 жыл бұрын
Pls help. Why does the G3 sound like ass compared to my MXR Fullbore Metal? I plug it in and it sounds hollow, like I'm playing through a tin can or something compared to my MXR. I'm confused. Literally everyone says this pedal kicks ass but to me it sounds worse than a metal zone

If you have studio noise or light interference, try ehx debugger, better than noise gate, it doesn't gate it identifies bad frequencies and tunes them out
@TimesBTough2 ай бұрын
I got this recently. I know it’s a disrtion pedal, but it sounds extremely tinny and thin to me. Probably just my personal taste, but the Friedman BE deluxe OD seems to sound a lot better to me.

G3 live in Denver is my life
@ragingskeptic9753 Жыл бұрын
I had a G3 and I didn’t care for it. It was boomy even with the bass all the way down. Also, over-saturation was an issue. When I turned the gain down low enough that it wasn’t over-saturated, it was only making enough gain to play blues. I play high gain metal core / djent / heavy metal, so that’s no bueno. (Ran through an EVH 5150 III Stealth.) I opted for the Wampler Phenom instead.
@emartinezr4 ай бұрын
For a 5150, these pedals (G2, G4 and G4) will be best run through the Effects Loop. They behave like a Pre-amp so if you have any good tube amp... best to use these pre-amp pedals on the Effects Loop. If you have a solid state amp, you can run them in front of the amp and they'll be much better. But still... these are beat ran through the Effects Loop.

Does it have a sweet spot? One drawback I've notices with several of my OD or Distortion pedals is that they really only sound good at one or two particular settings.
@RobertBakerGuitar6 жыл бұрын
To be honest no it sounds good all over the map. I know just what you mean to. So many pedals and High gain pedals for sure sound good in one spot and that's it. The G3 sounds great everywhere, to be honest. I was really surprised with just how versatile it was.

just wanted to say the Boss Metal zone detroys this pedal! I had my cousins over yesterday to watch the game, Canadiens beat Boston in overtime by the way whooo hoooo, and I had just bought the revv a couple of weeks ago and had rebough the metal zone. I had one in the 80's. so I start with the revv got an ok distortion but found that I couldnt tweek it any better and that it did not satisfy me, just missing perfection you know? this is paired with the Boss equalizer by the way in a v shap. so then I decide to try the metal zone that I know is very heavy, so I start tweeking to him playing this very heavy riff non stop and found many different cruching sounds but at the end of maybe 5min I found heaven no words could really explain it except for perfection. and even had room. but this spot simply was IT! crushed the revv to bites. it's distortion at max and the two middle button facing each other top and bottom buttons. the first 2 at 9 oclock and the second two at 3 oclock. around there you will find pure eargasm. Its the same as in the 80's I remembered I had the first 2 at 8 and the second 2 at 4 oclock. very close depends who's playing and pick ups etc.. but still around the same thing. this is in front of the amp. this amp has no fx loop but I remember in does days I had a peavy that had an fxloop and it sounded great both ways. The revv will be put on sale. I also have the Sabbra Cadabra for the sabbath sound that I will keep for now. I just got the Swollen Pickle for fuzz that I will be trying out. In conclusion for good distortion and huge versitility I recommend the metal zone hands down :)
