I don't keep the Sabbath because I think I'm morally superior; on the contrary, I keep the Sabbath because when I observe the Sabbath day, I tell the world that I am a created being dependent on the God of the universe for my very existence, and that He is not only my Creator but also my Sustainer. It's an acknowledgment of the Word of God in keeping the Sabbath, and it's a very important acknowledgment. Wouldn't you agree?

@@Palmstreet-u7xLecture: The New Covenant, the Testator, and the Remnant of God Introduction Welcome, everyone. Today, we will explore the significance of the New Covenant established by Jesus Christ, focusing on the role of the testator, the assurance it provides for God’s remnant, the importance of keeping the commandments, particularly the Sabbath, and the distinction between the Old and New Covenants. 1. Understanding the New Covenant The New Covenant is a foundational concept in Scripture, primarily detailed in the Book of Hebrews. Hebrews 9:16-17 states, "For where there is a will, there must also of necessity be the death of the testator. For a will is in force after men are dead; since it has no power at all while the testator lives." Key Point: The New Covenant is established through the death of Jesus Christ, who serves as the testator. His sacrificial death creates a new relationship between God and humanity, emphasizing grace, mercy, and redemption. 2. Assurance for the Remnant of God (Rev 12:17 KJV) For those identified as the remnant-believers who faithfully keep God’s commandments-the New Covenant offers profound assurance. Romans 8:1 declares, "There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus." Key Point: This assurance signifies that believers are justified and freed from the penalty of sin. The New Covenant reassures them of their standing before God, providing hope and confidence in their faith. 3. The Importance of the Sabbath Central to this discussion is the observance of the Sabbath, commanded in Exodus 20:8-11. The Sabbath is designated as a holy day of rest and worship. Key Point: The Sabbath command is seen as unchangeable by divine decree. Attempts by religious organizations to alter the Sabbath to Sunday or any other day challenge God's authority and can be viewed as representative of an antichrist spirit (1 John 2:18). 4. The Distinction Between the Old and New Covenants The essential difference between the Old and New Covenants is rooted in the promises of the testator. Old Covenant: Based on the Law and its requirements (Deuteronomy 30:15-16). The people were to adhere strictly to the commandments for righteousness. New Covenant: Established through Christ’s promise, emphasizing faith, grace, and internal transformation (Jeremiah 31:31-34; Hebrews 8:10). Key Point: The New Covenant does not abolish the Ten Commandments; instead, it fulfills and reinforces them through a new understanding of grace and obedience. 5. Salvation Through Faith Across Both Covenants A crucial point to clarify is that being saved by grace under the New Covenant does not imply that those under the Old Covenant were saved by law-keeping. Ephesians 2:8-9 states, "For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God." Key Point: Old Testament saints were saved by faith, looking forward to the promised Messiah, just as New Testament believers look back at His completed work. This underscores the consistency of God's redemptive plan throughout history. Conclusion In conclusion, the New Covenant established through Jesus Christ is vital for understanding our relationship with God today. It provides assurance to the remnant who keep His commandments, including the Sabbath, while emphasizing that salvation is through faith and grace, not through works alone. The distinctions between the Old and New Covenants remind us of God's unchanging nature and His desire for a personal relationship with each of us. Thank you for your attention, and I look forward to any questions or discussions you may have on this topic.

@@Palmstreet-u7x Dear Friend, I want to speak to you from my heart, as your best friend, because I deeply care about your well-being. There’s something important that I need to share with you, something that God wants us to understand, and it’s about honoring the Sabbath. It’s not just an old law or a rule to follow for the sake of tradition-this is something that goes to the very heart of your relationship with God, and it is so important that I don’t want you to miss it. Why Honoring the Sabbath Matters: The Sabbath was given by God, not as a burdensome command, but as a gift-an invitation to rest and to draw near to Him. Think of it like a special time with your closest friend, where nothing else matters except enjoying each other’s company. In Genesis 2:2-3, we see that God Himself rested on the seventh day after creating the world, setting a pattern for us: “And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made. And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made.” (Genesis 2:2-3, KJV) Now, I know life gets busy. The world around us is always rushing, always demanding our attention, and it’s easy to think that we don’t have time to pause. But here's the truth-God has given us the Sabbath not because He needs it, but because we do. Without this sacred time to rest and refresh, we risk burning out, losing sight of what's truly important, and drifting away from God. What God Wants from Us on the Sabbath: God wants us to rest, but He also wants us to use that time to refocus on Him. Exodus 20:8-10 reminds us of the Fourth Commandment, not as a heavy yoke, but as a loving directive: “Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days shalt thou labour and do all thy work: But the seventh day is the sabbath of the Lord thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work...” (Exodus 20:8-10, KJV) When God asks us to rest, He’s not asking for our obedience because He’s selfish or demanding. He knows that in rest, we connect with Him, we find peace, and we are reminded of His provision. We step back from our own striving and trust in Him. What Happens if We Neglect the Sabbath: Neglecting the Sabbath is like neglecting time with your best friend. Over time, it will cause distance. If you constantly work and never rest, you will wear yourself thin. Spiritually, emotionally, and physically, you’ll start to feel it. The consequences of neglecting the Sabbath go far beyond just breaking a rule-they are a breakdown of your relationship with God. In Isaiah 58:13-14, God says: “If thou turn away thy foot from the sabbath, from doing thy pleasure on my holy day; and call the sabbath a delight, the holy of the Lord, honourable; and shalt honour him, not doing thine own ways, nor finding thine own pleasure, nor speaking thine own words: Then shalt thou delight thyself in the Lord; and I will cause thee to ride upon the high places of the earth, and feed thee with the heritage of Jacob thy father: for the mouth of the Lord hath spoken it.” (Isaiah 58:13-14, KJV) Did you catch that? God says when we honor the Sabbath and make it a day of delight, He will bless us-He will bring us joy and fulfillment that no work or success can offer. But if we ignore this day, we risk missing out on those blessings. The Urgency of This Knowledge: I’m telling you this because I care about you and I don’t want you to miss the depth of this truth. The consequences of delaying your understanding and practice of honoring the Sabbath aren’t just about the physical rest you might miss-they are about the spiritual nourishment and closeness with God you could be forfeiting. Hebrews 4:9-10 warns: “There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God. For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his.” (Hebrews 4:9-10, KJV) I don’t want you to lose that rest, that peace that only God can give. Life is hard, and there’s so much noise and busyness, but the Sabbath is where God calls us to rest in Him-to cease from our striving and just be with Him. If you delay this, you’ll find yourself too worn out, too distracted, too distant from Him to enjoy the life He’s called you to. Please, Don’t Wait: Please don’t wait to take this seriously. I’m not saying this to condemn you; I’m saying this because I know how important it is for your soul. God loves you deeply, and He wants to meet you in that sacred space He’s set aside just for you. Don’t let anything keep you from the joy and peace He offers through honoring the Sabbath. Take a moment to pray and ask God to help you set aside this day for Him. It’s not about legalism; it’s about love, rest, and connection with the Creator who longs to refresh your soul. I’m praying for you, and I’ll be here to encourage you as you walk this journey. Your life will be richer, fuller, and more peaceful when you honor the Sabbath as God intended. With all my love, Your Friend

The SDA is one of the many denominations I investigated in my church journey. I actually went to a really weird splinter faction of theirs, called The Living Church of God. They had some of the most unusual theological positions I've ever heard of: British Israelism, Annihilationism, non-trinitarianism (that's what got me interested), Armstrongism, etc. The pastor was very smug and the congregation was very old. Only young people were family of older members. I was surprised at how little care the pastor showed to cultivate some "new blood" like myself, no interest in gaining my interest. I got a bad feeling when I looked at pictures of the leaders of the denomination, they looked like hyenas with their teeth bared to me. The Ellen White stuff is probably the most damning (as well as the false Millerite end-of-the-world date) thing about SDA in general. Very out-of-control theology and weirdly legalistic and they build out all their own institutions to avoid contact with the rest of society, so yes it's a cult.

In fact, EGW specifies that after embracing the genuine gospel, they’ll be required to “keep the sabbath”, eat only according to EGW’s vegetarian diet, and numerous other dictates which were received “as rays of light from the throne”. Desmond Ford was one that questioned the IJ but in the history of the Church there have been many and even now the vast majority of the scholars don't have any belief in the IJ in Germany and most of Europe the IJ is not taught in the Church. You can find many Adventists that will reject the IJ doctrine . Des Ford is now deceased but he was a bible teacher with two PHD and a teacher at Avondale college in Australia. There are videos on youtube of Des talking with Walter Martin about the SDA church. Des was a great defender of the Gospel in the SDA Church and led many out of legalism

@barryford1482 Thankyou for that. How interesting it was to me that Ford identified the investigative judgement doctrine as in error but couldn't identify the Saturday sabbath as error, couldn't see Ellen White as false and indeed wouldn't leave the SDA Church. I found those conflicts very interesting about a man who was no doubt very knowledgeable biblically. A nice man no doubt. But surely, when there is a primary, root belief in a church that is in error. Is it being loyal to Christ to stay in that church that is in error saying to yourself 'well I don't follow that error' ?. Can't be. At this point surely a show of force is required which would show loyalty to God and not to a church. In addition; if the primary belief of the church is in error, isn't the attendant responsible to the prove all things; look at the other abhorrent beliefs ?. I don't see how the true believer can stay in the SDA church knowing there are errors. That is putting the church before God.

@ServiceProcess "It is finished" (John 19:30) signifies that Jesus completed the work of atonement and fulfilled the requirements of the Law necessary for redemption. This phrase indicates that His sacrificial death accomplished the essential aspects of salvation, including the payment for sin. However, some argue that there were still steps in the redemptive plan, such as: Resurrection: Jesus’ resurrection three days later affirmed His victory over sin and death, completing the redemptive (salvific) work in a triumphant manner (Romans 4:25). Ascension: After His resurrection, Jesus ascended to the Father, where He intercedes for believers (Hebrews 7:25), marking the completion of His EARTHLY ministry. In summary, while Jesus' statement indicated the completion of the atoning work, subsequent events further fulfilled the overarching plan of redemption as outlined in Scripture.

Moses wasn't allowed into the promise land because he allowed the people to return to their Egyptian traditions not because he struck a rock. Jer. 7:24. And Jesus never started a religion full of the traditions most Christians have followed since at least 325 ad via the traditions concocted by Rome in the 2nd and 3rd century. The true faith is followed by a very small unknown flock scattered around the world living among the masses. No "church" services, no tithes, no pagan holidays, no alters, no baptismal, no alter calls, etc. just living as living sacrifices, producing fruit of the Spirit, and walking in repentance and victory over sin. Yes. If you notice most of the religions that come out of the 1800s all have a leader that has to be obeyed in order to be in the truth. So for example, the Mormons have Joseph Smith, EGW with the Seventh-day Adventists, Charles Taze Russell with the Bible Students the governing body with the Jehovah’s Witnesses. All of them tend to claim some kind of leader that has a special message.

What you mean is that you can’t understand how SDAs can believe in salvation by grace alone through faith alone and affirming the continuity of Sabbath keeping in the NT and an investigative judgment. It’s a lack of understanding on your part. It’s not a failure to be clear or an attempt to deceive on our part.
@HealingWord_Psalm107-204 ай бұрын
You fail to understand that works and obedience are two different categories in the NT (Romans 3:19-20; Romans 6:16-18).
@HealingWord_Psalm107-204 ай бұрын
You also fail to understand the NT distinction between God’s provision for our salvation-Jesus’ atoning death on the cross (John 19:30; Romans 3:24-26)-and the full and final realization of that salvation-standing glorified before God’s throne having endured the great tribulation (Revelation 7:14; 15:2). Consider how even in the OT the song of rejoicing could be sung that the Lord has clothed me with garments of salvation-robes of righteousness (Isaiah 61:10). Yet we clearly see that white robes are given to genuine believers on condition of overcoming (Revelation 3:5). Also, joint heirship is fully realized when Christ’s invites us to sit on His throne (Revelation 3:21). And guess what? It’s on condition of overcoming. Looking forward to the complete realization of our salvation doesn’t deny the assurance of the promise accepted and enjoyed by faith today. You have to understand that the white robe of righteousness is a metaphor, and a reality-something we’ll actually receive in heaven (Revelation 19:8). The promise of righteousness imputed must become the practice of righteousness implemented, or else faith was not genuine. That’s what the judgment will expose. This is really just good ol’ Wesleyan doctrine that is largely rejected by the ever-declining evangelicalism of today.

@WatcherNine4 ай бұрын
Faith without works being dead faith means this: You are saved by faith alone in Jesus Christ and his work on the cross. People who are saved are supposed to be examples to others regarding how to live with and treat your fellow man. This treatment of others is the "fruit", or "works" that is evidence of your salvation.
@dulcetsimone14824 ай бұрын
The only place "Faith Alone" is in the Bible is when James says that "You are not saved by faith alone" Faith gives you grace, which is the power to do good, stop doing evil, etc. Therefore, your actions will prove whether or not you truly believe. For example, say that you're struggling with sexual immorality, like watching porn. If you believe in your hearr that God raised Jesus from the dead, you will BELIEVE that He's powerful enough to deliver you. This is why we can't boast. It's grace through faith. Scripture teaches that we are saved by faith and judged by our deeds. Our deeds prove whether or not we believe in God and the testimony of His Son. When Paul presents the Gospel to King Agrippa, he said that he preaches to the gentiles to "Repent, Turn to God, and perform deeds consistent with repentance. Because God has appointed a day when He will judge the world in righteousness through a man who He has appointed. God has furnished proof by raising Him from the dead." We're also taught to be imitators of God as beloved children, and walk as Christ walked. Something that is only possible with the grace of God, and believing in that grace. Faith.

Am guessing you an Adventists? It's alright, but you gonna have to impact some knowledge of scriptures in other to truly set yourself free. When Martin Luther was compiling the 66 books that makes up what is known to be the canonical bible today, he nearly took the book of James out when he came upon this work based Faith teaching of James. But upon careful inspection, God finally gave him the understanding of it. Yes, indeed salvation is by faith alone ND not works. The works that James was talking about is not works that reflects salvation, but works that enables people to glorify God, which is also termed as good works. There are good works that any professing christian must be able of to bring people into the faith and glorifying GOD. These works however does not contribute to our salvation, not not at all. If there was something that we could have done under the Law for our own salvation, then Christ died in vain. Some of these good works includes feeding the hungered, clothing the naked, aiding the sick and helpless etc ... However, there are other faiths who are able of these good works but do not believe in Christ Jesus. So if both believers and none believers are able of performing same good works, what then sets them apart? Nothing except the blood of Jesus Christ. It is by the blood that we are justified as sinless and not by any Law. John 1:17 differentiate between Law and Grace. The Seventh Day Adventist Church are wrong about upholding the Law for salvation. They have been called out for years but they are just too stubborn and prideful to listen. There were not used to believing in the trinity, as a matter of fact they actually do not as they downplay Jesus' sacrifice on the cross and rather choose to take solace in keeping the Sabbath as vital for salvation.

@@SinZlair This is true. When you are saved, you accept Jesus as your savior and the work he did on the cross. He's forgiven your sins if you confess them to him, but you must also repent. That simply means you change your mind about sin and make your best effort not to repeat them. We all sin, we all fall, we all stumble, but we are also forgiven, but that doesn't mean we can continue on in a willfully sinful lifestyle. We have to repent and change. If you cling to your sin it means you never took it all seriously and are not saved. So yes, a change is necessary. That's also one of the 'fruits' of salvation. You lead a better life! Are you saying that once saved, always saved? That there should be no difference with the righteous and the unrighteous? That we should continue in sin so that grace may abound? Well, God forbids that, Romans 6:1-2. The problem with SDA's is that their world and beliefs are completely informed by EGW's writings whether they read her writings or not. They are really good at proof texting their beliefs to make it seem it is biblical but cannot read the scriptures in context and see their errors. The problem.os they prove the scriptures based on EGW's writings instead of proving EGW's writings by the scriptures. Where her writings conflict with scripture, they believe that those who based their beliefs on scripturexare misinterpreting scripture because they have the "latter day light" and that this light, which is EGW the lesser light and spirit of prophecy, illuminates the greater light of the scriptures. Their own statement of belieg is illogical. How can a lesser light illuminate a greater light? And scripture is clear about who is the spirit of prophecy, is is Jesus Christ. Jesus fulfilled the law thus further prophecy is needed. They also believe that Satan is the scapegoat upon whom all of man's sin will be placed. This is an insane belief. They twist scripture based on EGW's writings. They used the levitical law to support this insane doctine completely ignoring the fact that that the scapegoat and the sacrificial goat were identical and both spotless. Satan is not spotless nor perfect so to say Satan can be the scapegoat is insane. They also believe Jesus is performing Aaronic priesthood duties in heaven and that he somehow took his own blood to heaven to cleanse the "heavenly sanctuary. This is also insane as nothing in heaven is defiled based on scripture. But when you try to point this out they ignore it and go right back ro proof texting their beliefs by cherry picking and twisting scripture out of context to fit their worldview and doctrines if you ask them to sjoe you where in scripture the incmvestigative judgement is mentioned, they will tell you it is woven throughout and not specifically mentioned but can be inferred if you take all scripture in context which you can't infer it unless your worldview is informed by EGW. That is when even SDA's who say they don't rely on EGW's writings and are sola scripture will quote EGW to make their point. What you will find is even SDA's who say that she was not a prophet and they don't teach that her writings as Prophetic will rely on those same writings to interpret scripture. So while they use Christian language, their beliefs are not based on the bile alone but arexbasex on the bible as interpreted through the cleansing of EGW's writings. Wherever her writings conflict with scripture, her writings are used to "interpret" scripture "correctly" because imscripture cannot be correctly understood without her "lesser light" to illuminate the scriptures greater light. It is impossible to have a meaningful biblical discussion with SDAs because of the see everything through the lens of EGW's writings whether they admit it or not. I hav3 a very dear friend who is SDA and I tried to have her show me in the bible alone the OJ, Daan as scapegoat etc and she could not without quoting Mrs White. I pointed out passages in EGW's writings that directly conflict with scripture and she could not see it. I even showed her where EGW plagerized much of her writings even plagerizing the false prophet Josep Smith and she would not accept it. SDA is a cult because their members are so brainwashed that they cannot accept truth and will defend EGW even when you show them her errors. They are just like LDS and JW inThat way. I finally had to tell my friend that I just can't discuss scripture with her becausexI reject SDA doctrine and EGW's writings so I have a completely different understanding of what scripture s ays and will never accept her interpretations. I also had to tell her that contention on the scripture is anti-christ and that i will not argue about what he scriptures actually say. I had to tell her that I believe what Jesus said as written not as interpreted through the visions of EGW. The book the Great Controversy informs how SDAs see the character of God, of Jesus, of the Holy Spirit and of Satan and is jot based on scripture.

Will God be judging us according to our faith? The Bible is clear on this issue without exception. Jesus said, "Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice, and shall come forth; they that have done good to the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, to the resurrection of damnation." John 5:28-29. Paul writes that God "Who will render to every man according to his deeds: To them who by patient continuance in well doing, seek for glory, and honor, and immortality; eternal life." Romans 2:6-7. "For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that every one may receive the things done in the body, according to that he hath done, whether good or bad." 2 Cor. 5:9-10. Notice that we will receive according to what is done, and not according to what we believed. Peter asserts, that the Father, "without respect of persons, judgeth according to every man's work." 1 Peter 1:17. And St. John concludes with these formidable words: "And the dead were judged out of the things written in the books, according to their works." Rev. 22:12. Observe that it is not once said, "according to their faith." The works spoken of here are the fruit of faith. Once again, I want to emphasize the words of Jesus that "he who abides in Me will bear much fruit." Works are not merit, but the fruit of genuine faith which Christ works through the believer. A fruitful faith is a saving faith.
@changedman60354 ай бұрын
The Judgment Seat of Christ is to determine rewards, read 1 Corinthians 3:10-15. A genuine believer will definitely have good works in their lives, but when the Bible speaks about us being judged according to our works, it is speaking about us being judged to determine our eternal rewards in heaven. The Bible is abundantly clear, we are saved by faith alone, period. If anyone gets that wrong, then they have lowered the bar of salvation so low that they think they can earn it, which is absurd and horrible theology, God is the thrice holy God, He will not be bribed, the only good work God will accept is the good work of Jesus, and by being in Him through faith alone, when God looks at us, He sees Jesus, because we have the very righteousness of Christ.

The issue with the SDA and many who teach the same doctrines is that they don't understand grace or the source of salvation. 1. The grace of God is what brings a person to repentance. Jesus said that nobody can come to Him unless the Father draws them. Ephesians 2 CLEARLY says that we are saved by grace through faith which means we are saved by God's unmerited favor through His divine pursuasion (calling and prompting to seek the Lord). 2. We are justified by Christ ALONE. Consider the following passge. Notice there is NEVER a time where works is considered in salvation. Paul even warned the Galatians about this when he said "Oh foolish Galatians who has bewitched you..." They were moving away from the Spirit back to law aka works based salvation. This righteousness is given through faith in h Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference between Jew and Gentile, for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and all are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus. - Romans 3: 22-24 3. The works that James is speaking of is a PRODUCT of grace. Works is should be evidence of grace and salvation. Anytime someone is doing something not influenced by grace seeking to justify themselves through an action it is sin. It is the sin of spiritual pride. Any righteous act we do should be from the inner character development of the sanctification process. Adventists teach that you go to Hell if you don't keep the Sabbath. That cannot be true because that is a sign between Jews and God. It is the MORAL LAW that determines what God is pleased with and the law is written on our hearts according to Scripture. While we grow in the Lord the Spirit convicts us of sin and righteousness as the Bible says. So to teach anyone that they are saved by what they do or don't do is false doctrine. A person can do all the holy things and never go to Heaven because they are not under grace. They did it in their own power and not of Christ. Hope this clears it up.

Lecture: The New Covenant, the Testator, and the Remnant of God Introduction Welcome, everyone.

What evangelicals forget, it leave aside is that grace is not the end. There is a thing call santificación and santificación is a process of restoration of the way of life. Is a process describe by the Bible as a work that require a mutual effort between the Holy spiritual and men. Jesus himself is our example. Jesus was fully human and fully men. His life was an example to follow. Did Jesus really need to pray everyday??? Would that be considered salvation by work? How about his effort to resist temptation? Did he made surrender to God a necessary? Would this not be considered legalistic, to say it it written? To act only as the Bible say? You can surely see in the life in Jesus that he did not do anything without the aim of the Holy Spirit. We must follow his example. But the problem is that evangelicals believe that God transforms people by a mystical, magic like. That it don’t matter your sins as long as you simply say I believe in Jesus. The demons believe in Jesus and confess that he is the son of God, but they do not obey him. Righteousness- the word righteousness means right doing. Faith is not just believing but acting out in what you believe, that’s all of what EGW is saying. She never disconnect the day divide assistance (the Holy Spirit) from the Human exercise of faith. Question... Was Jesus the only one w power and authority to cast Satan out of heaven?
@scottholder73754 ай бұрын
@@CalledUntoHoliness I'm a seventh Day Adventist To argue that Michael the archangel is NOT Jesus, we can reference several biblical passages that highlight their distinct roles: Hebrews 1:4-5: This passage states that Jesus is superior to the angels and specifically notes that God never referred to any angel as His Son, emphasizing Jesus' unique status. Revelation 12:7-9: Here, Michael leads the angels in a battle against the dragon (Satan). This role as a warrior angel differs from Jesus' role as Savior and Redeemer. Jude 1:9: In this verse, Michael contends with the devil over the body of Moses. The context shows him as a servant of God, whereas Jesus is depicted as divine and sovereign. Colossians 1:16: This passage describes Jesus as the Creator of all things, including thrones and powers. In contrast, Michael is depicted as a created being, an angel. These verses collectively support the distinction between Michael the archangel and Jesus Christ.

I'm not SDA and never have been, I've also been trying to help Little Light Studios(SDA YT) to see they shouldn't keep pushing the sabbath, when one day or everyday alike is not to be judged. And the false claim of Sunday Law by the RCC to be the mark, when in Acts they met on the first day. But this first passage at 5:00 does seem biblical when you consider these verses: - He that endures to the end shall be saved. - I'll show you my faith by my works. (Faith without works is dead). - For by *Grace* ye are saved through *faith* (Grace to help your works of faith). - Many verses in Rev.2 & 3 on he that overcometh. (What if you don't overcome?) - Given Power to become a son of God. - If ye love Me keep My commandments. - Everyone quotes Eph.2:8-9 but ignore verse 10 (unto good works). - We will be known by our fruit. - Resist the devil and he will flee from thee. - Don't be the unprofitable servant. - Don't be a foolish virgin. - His Bride hath made herself ready. - Harvest comes when the vine is ripe. - Unless a grain of wheat fall into the ground and & *die* (die to self - forsake all) it abideth alone. - Now if we are children, then we are heirs-heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in his glory Now are they Born Again, would be the better question. Because then His Holy Spirit would lead them into all truth. Your ministry is His Grace helping, compelling you, to show your good works of faith. If you ignored your calling, you would be burying your talent. Your Fight the good Fight is your overcoming and to get us through each day of sufficient evil is His Grace. I think Eph.2:8&9 is very mis-understood. No man is justified by the works of the law given by Moses, Faith without works is dead(good works verse 10), His continued Grace to help us overcome daily. For we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God and not of us. The GC 28 does sound extreme though. And no, Mat.24 has not yet been fulfilled. Context is key.

So in summation, if you're going to follow the 10 commandment laws, I hope you're keeping it perfectly because if you're going to follow the laws, you have to do it with every thought/word/deed/intent, every second of the day, 24/7. REVELATION 3:5 "He who overcomes shall be clothed in white garments, and I will not blot out his name from the Book of Life; but I will confess his name before My Father and before His angels" These are just a few verses and there's even more. It's clear what EGW said is in fact straight from the Bible. Recall that she said Jesus can't save man AGAINST HIS WILL. If you WILL to sin he can't save you. I think we must overcome desire to sin. And we don't believe in works based salvation. The belief in a works based salvation REPLACES Jesus as the MEDIATOR between man and God. Faith and Works is also just works based salvation in disguise. We believe we are saved by grace through our faith. But because grace abounds does not mean we disregard the law. Certainly not! On the contrary We establish the law. ROMANS 3:31 If you have faith in Jesus your works MUST show it. Since faith means believe, if you BELIEVE God is going to destroy sin and sinners. I am a SDA Christian.. very happy about it. I love my church.My church is not infallible but I believe God’s message is. I have learned while being a SDA that God IS love. He’s not a God of force. The Creator of the universe came down to this earth to save mankind. He suffered, bled and died and rose again. We did nothing or have nothing to add to what He has done. He demonstrated His love to us., even while we were yet sinners. He died for all mankind, but not everyone will accept his gift. Those who do respond to this precious gift,are pushed forward by his power of love to obey His commandments. It’s all by His power that He forgives and His power is there to obey if we choose. Actually if we truly love Him we would keep His commandments. John 14:15 I do believe that we can all get into a work based mode. We want people to have prayer in school, not do abortions, stop the LBGQ agenda by force and by legislation. Christian evangelicals are mostly in the forefront of this. If we TRULY believe it’s not by works you are saved than why put works on people that don’t even know Christ? You will legislate but can’t change the heart. Only God can do that. Ellen White was a woman that I believe the Lord inspired. Did this mean she was infallible.. no. She wrote a lot of things. The quotes you are quoting still does not say we are saved alone by our works. She may not have written exactly like we like to read it but she mentions a lot, by the merits of Christ, or through God, obedience and faith. Example..Revelation 14:12.. Here is the patience of the saints here are those who keep the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus.” Is John saying that we are saved through obedience alone.. no he mentions the faith of Jesus. She mentions by God’s strength and merit. You calling us a cult is not a big deal.. that’s your opinion. Jesus was called a devil because His teachings did not line up with the mainstream of His time. So this is nothing new. Being in the majority does not make things right..it’s usually the opposite.

This biggest misconception about Adventism from modern evangelicals is that Adventism is stanchly connected to Wesleyan Arminianism. In fact, if you were to read John Wesley's writings and compare them to Ellen White you will see the strong connection. Wesleyan Arminianism is an orthodox soteriology; however, it has been overshadowed by the OSAS and Reformed soteriological positions. Many of the people that leave Adventism pop up as Calvinists. So, they did so much leave Adventism as they left Arminianism. As an Adventist, my position is Reformed Arminianism. The defining difference in my soteriological understanding is I don't believe sins can cause one to lose their salvation. This is a long discussion, but it is summarized by Paul's statement in Eph. 2:8. It should also be noted that Arminianism by logical conclusion leads to an end time judgement, which is espoused in Adventist theology. Regarding the cult question. I find it very unfruitful. I have met many evangelicals that are members of cultic churches which dangerous soteriological positions. Many Adventists have very solid soteriological positions. I personally am saved and love my walk with Christ. I have many fruitful ministries, included prison ministry. I encourage those I study with to find a Christ center church and follow where He leads. I don't believe in one truth church. I believe in the body of Christ. I do believe the Adventists have the correct theology regarding Arminianism, state of the dead, the Law of God, and the fruits of the Spirit. I don't adhere to staunch eschatological interpretations as some Adventists, but again no church is perfect. Honestly, the demonization of fellow Christians is part of the reason the church as a whole is failing. The youth are no longer interested in the faith offered by main line, evangelical, or restorationist churches. They view it as condescending and self-righteous. If any faith is truly researched, one would find that there are many holes in the theology. There needs to be more honest discussion, and some Spirit led humility. None of us are completely right, we all have so much to learn and in the end, Jesus was very clear that our churches don't save us. Luke 10:25-37 Blessings,

“But this doctrine has been much abused.” So has that of justification by faith. But that is no reason for giving up either this or any other scriptural doctrine. “When you wash your child,” as one speaks, “throw away the water; but do not throw away the child.” ― John Wesley: A Plain Account of Christian Perfection "...that habitual disposition of the soul which, in the sacred writings, is termed holiness; and which directly implies being cleansed from sin, 'from all filthiness both of flesh and spirit'; and, by consequence, being endued with those virtues which were in Christ Jesus; being so 'renewed in the image of our mind,' as to be 'perfect as our Father in heaven is perfect' - John Wesley: A Plain Account of Christian Perfectionism There is such a thing as perfection; for it is again and again mentioned in Scripture. It is not so early as justification, for justified persons are to “go on unto perfection” (Heb. vi. 1). It is not so late as death; for St. Paul speaks of living men that were perfect (Phil. iii. 15). It is not absolute. Absolute perfection belongs not to man, nor to angels, but to God alone. It does not make a man infallible; none is infallible while he remains in the body. Is it sinless? It is not worth while to contend for a term. It is “salvation from sin.” It is “perfect love” (I John iv. 18). This is the essence of it: its properties, or inseparable fruits, are, rejoicing evermore, praying without ceasing, and in everything giving thanks (I Thess. v. 16, etc.). It is improvable. It is so far from lying in an indivisible point, from being incapable of increase, that one perfected in love may grow in grace far swifter than he did before. It is amissable, capable of being lost; of which we have numerous instances. But we were not thoroughly convinced of this till five or six years ago. It is constantly both preceded and followed by a gradual work. But is it in itself instantaneous or not? In examining this, let us go on step by step. - John Wesley: A Plain Account of Christian Perfectionism Why should devout men be afraid of devoting all their soul, body, and substance to God? Why should those who love Christ count it a damnable error to think we may have all the mind that was in Him? We allow, we contend, that we are justified through the righteousness and blood of Christ. And why are you so hot against us, because we expect likewise to be sanctified wholly through His Spirit? We look for no favour either from the open servants of sin, or from those who have only the form of religion. But how long will you who worship God in spirit, who are “circumcised with the circumcision not made with hands” [Colossians 2:11], set your battle in array against those who seek an entire circumcision of heart, who thirst to be cleansed “from all filthiness of flesh and spirit,” and to “perfect holiness in the fear of God?” [2 Corinthians 7:1] Are we your enemies because we look for a full deliverance from that “carnal mind which is enmity against God?” [Romans 8:7] Nay, we are your brethren, your fellow-labourers in the vineyard of our Lord, your companions in the kingdom and patience of Jesus [Revelation 1:9]. Although this we confess (if we are fools therein, yet as fools bear with us), we do expect to love God with all our heart, and our neighbour as ourselves. Yea, we do believe that He will in this world so “cleanse the thoughts of our hearts by the inspiration of His Holy Spirit, that we shall perfectly love Him, and worthily magnify His holy name.” - John Wesley: A Plain Account of Christian Perfectionism The quotes above are just a start, but after reading expensively into John Wesley's works one can plainly see where Ellen White learned her view of Biblical soteriology. One of Wesley's favorite terms was "salvation from sin". John viewed that grace given by Christ allowed one to overcome sin. It was a type of partnership of will and purpose, or in a sense becoming one with God. Is this not what the New Covenant is all about?

Does the word cult fit with any group that has certain practices? Meaning any religious group is a cult.

The definition of cult yes any group that holds to practices by a specific teacher is a cult. This also makes many groups who aren’t religious also cults. When people think of cult’s it tends to be something more negative. I prefer what the first paragraph of Wikipedia says about cults.

That depends on how someone defines a cult. According to mainstream Protestants, anyone that doesn't fit their narrow, erroneous view of what "biblical doctrines" are is a cult, even though their own traditions ironically originate from pagan cults condemned in the Book they claim as the source of their beliefs.

Let me be clear, I am a former Adventist, I still keep sabbath, and that's moral. And an ex Sunday keeper. I was there with the church for about 15years. The thing I thought was crazy teachings. You can not get baptized until you go thru the doctrines of the church to agree or did agree. If it's the real love of God, the father sends to you heart, saying you need a savior. Some times this calling happens when simple children respond. They don't understand non novice teachings . Like Trinity , and especially the unpardonable sin issue. Sins of omission and commissions .,Which is another hericical teaching. The children should be baptized to start their new life with Christ based on faith, I never use the word (alone). Because scripture don't use that word behind faith. Or sanctification would not cause workes being mixed with faith. Let me clarify what I'm saying. When someone except Christ as their savior. The come as they are.know matter what the know. Then Jesus justifies them . Gives them a robe of his righteousness. Then satisfaction is a process . To make you bible wise. (Mature). Glorification is then issued to us based by justification only. Eg white suggest that your satisfaction users you in to your glorification. Once again . Now let me say that Adventist people as a whole love the lord. And not all believe in the total writing of eg white. Jesus want judge u on what you knew about eg white any way. He will work in your heart to do his will and his good pleasure anyway. , phillipians ch 2v13. Jude verse 23,24. He got you covered. We will let him decide who he thinks is saved in all churches. It like Catholics. Even though they know the church should not be built on Jesus plus Mary. The go anyway, because that the way of tradition for them. And know no one is a liguallist for keeping sabbath and the rest of the moral law.because it required in James ch 1v23. If a Christian is already saved and they come into a Adventist church. The people half to be rebaptized after the agree with there doctrines. Which is confusing. I don't believe in Trinity. In believe in unitarism when it comes to the god head. And I use to ask them , do they need me to explain that doctrine to them and rebabptize them. That teaching of Trinity cames from Tertillian a roman Catholic in 325ad. If funny that they Adventist constitine in 321ad. And say we do wist to be Catholic. Just a few months ago Adventist teach there congregation that if they don't believe it Trinity Your blaspheming the holy Spirit. Well if that true the just alluninated James and EG white, neighbor one believed in Trinity the first 50 years of their church history. The were airianism (johova Whitness) , johova God created Christ and Jesus was Michael the arc angel. And that teaching is in some Adventist teaching about Daniel ch 12. Regardless of what you understand about doctrines. Salvation go to anyone who believes. And that's what get us in heaven one day. Thanks to Jesus for ending all sin at the cross Brother Joe out.

Instead of catholic bashing, you should seek the word, "Righteosness" from the Bible, but note that no man was ever given a commandment about a sabbath until "WORK" was first established. Works of the law of Moses. Work 6 days, and I'm not discussing picking tomatoes on the farm, I'm discussing RIGHTEOSNESS, works of. Then you can take a day off from your works of Righteosness. The problem...GENTILES were never told to work at all. Not even in the Ten Commandments. Read Romans 5:13, and tell me if Abraham slept with his sister.

Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: show me thy faith without thy works, and I will show thee my faith by my works. Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble. But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead? Was not Abraham our father justified by works, when he had offered Isaac his son upon the altar? Seest thou how faith wrought with his works, and by works was faith made perfect? And the Scripture was fulfilled which saith, Abraham believed God, and it was imputed unto him for righteousness: and he was called the Friend of God. Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only. Likewise also was not Rahab the harlot justified by works, when she had received the messengers, and had sent them out another way? When he fell, what did he get? What did he lose? What do we call that? We call that LOST INNOCENCE, we call that SPIRITUAL DEATH, we call that the KNOWLEDGE of Good and Evil. In everyone's time of life, there is a period of ignorance, known as INNOCENCE. No knowledge between good and evil. Those who know are spiritually dead. To be born again, now we are back to being spiritually resurrected from spiritual death. Hence 1 John 3:9. Bottom line... Abraham was considered RIGHTEOUS based on what? And when? The when was "BEFORE THE LAW", see Romans 5:13, 4:15. Is sleeping with your sister a huge huge serious sin under the law of Moses? You bet it is. @@iThinkBiblically That is false according to scripture. First John directly addresses the issue of professing believers who seem to become unbelievers. Some false teachers, who had appeared to be true believers at one time, were troubling the church. First John 2:19 explains, “They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would have continued with us. But they went out, that it might become plain that they all are not of us.” Although those who departed the faith had appeared to be genuine, John makes it clear that they had never actually been “of us”; one of the marks of a believer is that he “continues with us.” People may be able to “fake it” for a while, but they cannot sustain the part forever. The truth will eventually outlast their fakery. First John 3:9 says, “No one born of God makes a practice of sinning, for God’s seed abides in him; and he cannot keep on sinning, because he has been born of God.” A genuine believer is kept from falling into continuous sin because he has been born of God-God keeps him safe. A true believer may fall into disobedience and struggle with doubt, but a true believer will never renounce Christ. A person who has renounced Christ by his words or deeds has not lost salvation; rather, he is demonstrating that he never had genuine faith. A genuine believer can never become an unbeliever because he or she has been born again by the Spirit of God. It is not one’s faith that keeps one safe but the power of God that enables continual faith.

The Adventists are light years ahead of anyone else and is why many fail to understand it. A classic case in point is your ignorance that while we are saved by grace, we are judged by our works. Why? Because the works show whether our conversion is real. Just like Noah building the ark proves his faith was real. "And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be." Revelation 22:12. "Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. 22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? 23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity." Matthew 7:21-23. And many more such passages if one does a study. Matt. 16:27, John 5:29, Rom. 2:6,13, II Cor. 5:10, Gal. 6:7, James 2:21, Rev. 20:12,13 This is what Ellen was talking about that you confuse as a works based salvation. She is saying we are saved by faith, but that born again experience will cause us to do all within our power to cooperate with God. Just like Noah did everything in his power to build the ark. The Adventists go DEEP and connect dots that most pass by. They really are light years ahead of everyone else and the best guide for the salvation of our souls.

Literally, the Devil and his sinister ministers are actors, pretending to be of God, but they are satanic. We are all in a spiritual war. SDA does its best to appear as a Christian organization, but it is a woeful deception of the Devil. "I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God than dwell in the tents of Adventism." The Bible says that salvation is by faith and not works, so that no man may boast.

@@ANDY-h6m And verse 10 says, "For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them." Scripture is plain and clear that we will be judged by our works and not by our faith. Jesus said in John 15:4-6, "Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine: no more can ye, except ye abide in me. I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: For without me ye can do nothing." Salvation and fruit bearing are inseparable; you cannot have one without the other. If we are saved, we must bear fruit because we are in the vine. If we do not produce good works, it is only evidence that we are not one of His!

@@SGOV86 apparently your "Bible" does not have the word "all."
