The Echelon is a phenomenal pistol considering it's price, design, modularity and structure. It's surprisingly in my top 5 favorite guns I own. Not based off of it's soul performance. But all of the prior mentioned and more. It's balance, flat shooting and functionality is fantastic. I will say from owning it since it launched. At first I hated the ambidextrous safety as I felt at the time I got in the way and was uncomfortable. Though after a couple weeks. I got used to to, even thinking of shaving the one side down. Glad I didn't. The Slides design and grip points are personally from my bias. One of the best I've ever used. If I could take the design and put it on many other pistols I would. I've never had better purchase than the slide cuts from the Echelon. If I may compare it to my baby... SIG P320 Spectre Tacops. I would say the Echelon is the most similar to that. It obviously does not perform nowhere near as good. But again, for what the Echelon is. It's surprising how good it is out of the box. Plus, let's be honest. Look at it. She's gorgeous in my opinion.

Reason to get a 17 instead of 19 or 45, is the length of the recoil spring and the mass of the slide makes for the (imo) best shooting handgun. Well broken in Glock trumps any Sig, CZ or H&K when it comes to shootability. Echelon seems to be improving on every aspwct of the glock that needed improvement, while leaving the features Glocks are known for. Really hope this gun gets the praise it deserves

Spoken like someone who never shot a Shadow 2, P-10, P226, P229, CZ-75, M&P 2.0, or anything not a Glock. I like Glocks but they aren’t all that out of the box at all. Also the difference between a Glock 45 and a Glock 17 is hella negligible.

Straight after release, my Echelon came with one seventeen-round magazine, one twenty-round magazine, and an additional base plate, which allows for a total of two twenty-round magazines. 17>45. Barrel length is always a bennefit. You get extra velocity and a better recoil impulse. Concealing barrel length isn’t an issue, concealing the grip is. If you’re going for a full size grip, get a full size barrel.

To make a Glock usable, you need to upgrade the sights and trigger. Whereas the Echelon is great out of the box.
@Osprey1994Ай бұрын
Every time I hear someone say this, it's from someone who doesn't train and can't shoot. I shot Glock for 3 years before moving to a P365XL and experimenting with other pistols like the P10F, PDP, and even a 2011 that I use for competition. The conclusion I came to, is that Glock is perfectly fine out of the box, and I can absolutely make consistent hits at 50yds with one, especially with a dot. Plenty of bad guys have also bitten the dust to a stock Glock with stock sights and triggers. It's definitely useable at base.
@WilsonBrey29 күн бұрын
You absolutely don’t bro. That’s just something people say to make Glock seem unusable out of the box. The trigger and sights while aren’t the quote unquote “greatest” they absolutely work just fine and don’t have to be changed. I keep all my Glock triggers stock. The gen 5s really aren’t bad.

I love how people say Glock is more reliable. Anyone that has worked at a shooting range for a few years can tell you they’ve seen Glocks fail more times than they can count. Glock has age, aftermarket support and owners numbers in their favor and that’s it. And that’s the only argument that all these “reviewers” can make to justify that the Glock is better than any other quality handgun on the market today. Glock would be laughed at if they started making guns today.

So you made a ton of positive points for the Echelon, didn't make many about the Glock, named some detractors for the Glock but still say the Glock is the one? You perform better with the Block because you have a lot more experience with that platform apparently. Give the same amount of time with the Echelon and I'd bet you find yourself in a better position that you would with the Block. Maybe its just me, but I am sick of Glocks. I know they are ultra reliable and durable but Glock has ZERO innovation. Glock doesn't offer anything new except to put an existing slide onto a different frame and call it a new gun. You can only live off that practice for so long.
@stewpidaso2621 күн бұрын
what "innovation" do you need though? if it works why change? people talk about this with vehicles and "the good ole days" when stuff just worked and worked for a long time. but when it comes to a gun the company needs to innovate? i have an echelon and glocks, i like them both and one thing i like about glock is the lack of innovating something that works. yeah, theyre boring, but does that really matter if it ever comes time to use it to save your life?

The amount of glock bias is crazy. The echelon is reliable Walther hk and many other gun brands are reliable saying glock reliability as if its got the market cornered on that is dumb. No person in their right mind would say Glock has better ergos. The echelon is objectively better than the Glock in literally every category except after market stuff but the echelon doesn’t really need anything to upgrade. Cope harder Glock boys.

The hardcore Glock guys don’t want to change they will likely in another 7-10 yrs be like the 1911 only guys of today. It’s fine if you’re used to shooting only Glocks it does take some doing to shoot other platforms most of them want to stick with there tried and true. Which is fine. I shoot all the platforms and don’t carry a Glock but that’s me. You can build a better clone these days for less with many more features these days. That’s probably the way to go. You usually don’t have to deal with the Glock hump either. If I had a few thousand in Glocks and holsters I might not want to change either.

@ggrandczАй бұрын
Ambidextrous mag release is not better solution. It often leads to unintended release in holster. That is why PDs change mag release with single sided solution. Backstraps on Echelon are not better than on Glock - on Glock you change trigger reach, on Echelon you change more grip angle than anything else. Attachment system on Echelon is way better. I also have problem with grip so I hope new Large grip will better fill my hand. We have to have different Echelons because trigger reset is nearly without tactile feedback doing dryfiring (when shooting it is without feedback) and return spring is weak than on Glock.
@NoirFoxxZАй бұрын
You must be a Glock fanboy. Which, there is nothing wrong with as long as you don't push your bias and dispel false information. I cannot tell you how many rounds I've shot over the years. Probably 80,000+ But I or nobody I personally know accidently hits an ambidextrous mag release. Don't put that out into the world when it's simply untrue. Perhaps you do so, due to your extreme lack of correct grip. Regardless, I'm not here to mock you. I just hate it when people put out false information. It's simply cancerous. Backstraps on the Echelon are much greater in every caliber. The provide the shooter with any level of grip they need to suit their hands. Combining that with the different sized modular grips (Small, Med, Large). You can't go wrong. The trigger for as most guns go is also extremely well polished. Being one of the better out there are the markets. It's tactile and very audible. Lastly, I don't know what you're on about when you speak of the spring. Glocks for the most part don't have the strongest springs. The Echelon outperforms in this area also. It's a shame you felt the need to simply start typing without actually acknowledging your own bias. Brother, love what you love and let nobody tell you otherwise. But, DO NOT hate on something else that simply does better. This is one of the many things wrong with this world. Have a good day. Spread positivity.
@ggrandczАй бұрын
@foxxy_z How stupid you must be to do not understand that when I talk about mag release in holster, it is not about shooting. How many months did you serve with Echelon in OWB? How many mm of trigger reach do included backstraps change? Btw I own about 3 SA pistols, only 2 Glocks. So I have comparison.

Gen 5 G45 MOS's new are going to be about 620, but you can obviously find a G45 for less used whether by some other shooter or an LE trade in. Then you can get the gun cut for an optic and still be around the 500 dollar price point. You might of course need to go buy more mags, but Glock mags are part of what makes the platform appealing, they are reliable, and cheap. PS. There are other guns with FCU's, but they didn't garner enough attention and nobody ended up offering support. It's good to see that the Echelon managed to actually catch enough of an audience that companies like Icarus saw value in spooling up production for the gun.
