All Vinfast VF8 cars have been ordered to recall due to safety reason in the US. The problem is that they still don't know how to fix it. With extreme slow sales in the domestic market and little sales next to nothing in overseas market, Vinfast is big trouble of cash flow. They are quickly running out of cash. It's unlikely that Vinfast will last for another year or two.

Vinfast is having a big trouble with cash flow. They are quickly running out of cash due to little sales next to nothing. Their $4 billion debt accrues interest payable everyday and their accumulated loss of 3.5 billions also goes up every day. On top of that, there are a big influx of customer complaints from the suckers who believed into the hype and bought their faulty cars. Vinfast is coming closer and closer to exit from EV business every day. Watch out for the door when getting out.

Hi EV Pulse, The VF8 you are driving is the City Edition which has only 207miles range. Vinfast has tweaked the software and increase the range to 264miles you will find in the 2nd batch of VF8s which recently arrived in California. Even with the VF8 City Edition, you can get software update extending the range to 264miles, that EPA range has been confirmed. There is new report from Vietnam of a new update 8.7.8 extending the range to 500km. I can see it's true that someone in Vietnam after getting the software update 8.7.8, his car shows he used up 10% of battery after traveling 51km which means VF8 now has a range of 510km.

People have quite high expectations these days, very hard for a brand new company to break through not to mention the brand recognition hurdle they have to overcome on top of everything. Seems like a decent vehicle but for the money sounds like some other options simply are better buys unless you want to have something unique.

​@@EVPulse You need to active all functions by adding your profile, get eSim T-mobile and setup by own configuration. VIN VF8 looks like a smart Device with Operation System like smartphone, laptop. Car apps have android car and apple car. Poor YOu !! You chose a basic car with the first firmware. Now, firmware version is 9.1 in Cali, and 8.7.8 in vietnam. Vietnamese 're very welcome new technology to figure out some bugs to fix. It also calls passion. The most of interested feature is EBD (Electronic Brakeforce Distribution), down from 47mph to zero in 12-15m without slide tie sound on road. VF8 Chasis is steel, not Aluminium, better than Tesla 3/Y.

A great review. VinFast is a new brand and they need suggestions to improve. Currently VinFast needs to improve the user experience. Maybe Americans don't want too many safety warnings. The exterior and interior both have compliments. Nokia Here Map problem needs improvement or solution is Android and Apple car play connection. The problem of energy recovery is being improved. ADAS on the freeway is doing great. Especially not advertising self-driving, but only supporting driving and monitoring the driver. The VF8 is a sports car with wide and thin tires that is not without noise. But thin tires are safe in the event of a tire explosion when running. Thank for your review and suggestions

Vinfast VF8 have been proved to be not roadworthy in the US and banned to sell them. However, in socialist Vietnam, Vinfast blatantly ignores it and keeps selling them to uninformed customers. It's a low-life selling way of Vinfast. Anyway, Vinfast is quickly running of cash due to little sales next to nothing in both domestic and overseas market. It's unlikely that they will last for longer than 2 - 3 years.

Wow. The range on this car is kind of surprising. I have an EV6 GT and I think max range is like 206 miles (I don't ever charge it to 100%) and that's like a high performance model with wheels that don't care AT ALL about range. And I thought THAT was bad. That being said, it's more than enough range for my daily driving purposes. But I don't think I'd be happy with 191 miles of range on brand new 2023 family SUV.

I am loyal to Acura and Honda. They have never let me down. I will probably move to a Honda Hybrid until they work out all the kinks on the fully electric Prologue that is coming out in 2024. Tesla’s are so prevalent where I live that they are the modern version of the Volkswagen Bug. So, I am not interested in them yet.

I preordered a Cadillac Lyriq and I'm still waiting for it a year later. AWD, fully loaded, 22's, moonroof with Supercruise driving. $78,000. My problem with EV start ups is that I don't trust their long term reliability. To date, I've owned a Cadillac STS, SRX and XT5 and never had an issue with Cadillac service. I don't know shit about Vinfast.

My concern with spending big money on a new EV is how quickly they will be irrelevant. Next gen EV cars will be so much better, that 78 for the caddy will disappear so fast. It's no different than any other modern tech. The EV market will not be treated the same as the ICE market for quite some time imo.

The Tesla Model Y is the car to compete with. A crossover with decent space, range and daily drivability. Vinfast was smart to set that as their target, but all of these EV makers need to make future battery/range upgrades doable and affordable. I would NEVER buy a car from a company without long-term reliability and maintenance plans.

This Vinfast VF8 wasn't good car. In Vietnam, buyer had lot of problems. Turn off system, air conditioner not work, unstable system etc. Basically, VF5,VF7,VF9 are VF8' clone and VF e34' clone. Take care of ADAS, it's not production delivery to buyer
