Test-driven both VF8 Plus and Eco, and about a dozen other EVs in the last few months. Have a VF8 (Eco, in the deep ocean green) on order. Has better features and price/performance compared to other vehicles at the same price, and (importantly) it's AVAILABLE, this month, whereas Ioniq5 and EV6 still have a 2yr wait-list here in Ontario). There's also no beating that warranty! Don't want the Model Y. Apart from the "kitchen counter with tablet and wheel" look, and the Musky smell, it also costs considerably more here, especially if you compare AWD, and just not worth the difference.

"Unbiased" should not mean uncritical, and driving the car at parking-lot speeds is not a road test. If Vinfast accepts the criticism (there's a lot of it) and uses it constructively, they could be producing very good vehicles within a few years.

were you driving the CITY edition or the regular dual motor one that they sell mostly? They made big mistake using the stripped down CITY version to distribute to all the pro car reviewers early part of 2023 that then gave them brutal reviews....especially based on the price at the time which was almost as much as Tesla Model Y. Since then their prices have reduced significantly, plus the CITY is not their standard car but the VF8 Plus. Its hard to find up to date reviews since September on once they started delivering their VF8's to customers here. Do you have any updates?

Thanks for the review. How much would you rate it out of 10? Btw I've never seen a car with so much different opinions about it, that's interesting. For some people it is impossible to have a good experience with it, as soon as someone does, they say he got paid...

Hmm.. That's a tough one. 6 or 7 out of 10. I'm very picky.. I think overall it's a great product. BUT then the competition is fire too! It's a shame they don't offer free charging anymore. And, the price is way up there. But for me - I'd say it's as good as the VW id4 or better. But, I'd take the Tesla Model Y over it hands down. What's there more to compare it too? :)

Vinfast put a lot of efforts into this car's AI based controller (Vinfast car OS). The price is based on the high quality of hardware (5-star crash test) and the car OS. Vinfast would appreciate everyone to give a fair, contractive and objective review so that Vinfast could improve their product more. Note that this car goes with 10 years or 125000miles, more than any other car producers. Most of bugs of VF8 are small and could be fixed easily by updating the OS r simply reset the car's OS. Their customer service is excellent. You would not regret to go with this.

I would say the ride is very smooth - on the softer side. I didn't get to drive it on any rough roads but it handled bumps beautifully. :)

Not really true. I don't like the BZ4x Toyota but in general a lot of the new EV's are amazing cars. The Vinfast might have to prove it stands the test of time but on Paper it's a good deal and a good performing car.

Most haters of VF cars come from people who ran away after 1975 after VN defeated American. They also ran away from their home country to America, Canada, Australia.... and lived there. Quite a lot of them never see how much VN has changed. I used a lot of Vingroup's product (house, hospital, school, electric motocycle and next would be an EV) and I know Vingroup always focus on product's quality. In VN, Vingroup's services are number 1.

The car looks nice, interior looks way nicer than my Model Y but the performance cant match Tesla. I like the HUD. Few other things that I dont like about vf8 is the seat. It's hard and I feel like I can slide off the car if I'm going into a curve, no support on the sides. The tail is too low for an SUV, it looks like I load up a tons rocks in the trunk.

At the end he says he wouldn't take it over Tesla, not at this price tag. However if it was cheaper it could buy it over the model Y. I get your point but it is not all about the mileage, it's a whole. For someone who doesn't need to do long distance and just commute around the city, the mileage might not weigh that much when it comes to take a decision.

I heard they only release crash test after 1 year. NCAP gave it 5* and i believe NHTSA could be the same.
