@@Cassim125 I never said there wasn't lol. But the epigenetics of a ritual prayer performed from the initiation of the religion, buried in the salt/bones of our ancestors, transcended genetically through progeny? Has a human element that cannot be matched by arranging chairs lol & that is of a different kind of consciousness than nature.

Mufti I took your advice and I've now started praying all 5 prayers And my life is so much better now structured. I am taking your advice and improving my life just a little bit at a time- instead of everything at once - which would be overwhelming and I'd probably have left Islam like 2 of my Revert friends have done (one was told by Mosque women and men if she didn't wear hijab the shaytan was gonna burn her in hell other one was told if she didn't pray every prayer with Sunnah prayer with perfe t wuddhu her prayers were worthless and won't make it to Allah)

Great explanation. Very coherent and well explained. I remember my life used to feel so empty without the prayers, like there was something missing in my life, I’d feel guilty for omitting it sometimes but now, I’m praying regularly, All Praise Be To God (AlHamdulillah). Our religion is one of submission to God, without the prayers, there is no submission to God. I’m not trying to sound harsh or anything but think about it, in order to be called a believer, one must perform what God asked him to do. That’s how God tests us and can tell who from those who claim to believe genuinely do. I mean it’s easy for someone to say that they believe, that’s why the real believers would pray and feel tranquility and peace while doing so. The prayer benefits the one who prays tremendously in this life, I can testify to that. If you feel happy, you can praise God and thank Him. If you feel sad, you can ask God to make your situation better. Trust me, it always works. Do yourself a favor, do not deprive yourself from that wonderful experience. 🙂 Enjoy it. Have a relationship with God.

@@Cassim125 No, that’s not what I said. I think you misunderstood what I was saying. All I said was that as Muslims, performing the five daily prayers is a very serious pillar that we do hold very dearly to, if one forgets once or twice sometime, not regularly, then they should pray as soon as they remember. Being a Muslim implies to submit to the will of God, performing the daily prayers is one of the main foundations of our beliefs. I never spoke about Non Muslims. Yes, of course, there are really great people from among them. That wasn’t my point at all. I was speaking about what Muslims believe in and do.

Carl Jung also spoke of rituals in the old native indian tribes and how powerful the psychology behind them was. Its incredible to read that as a people, who nowadays probably is percieved as primitive and of old time, had a tremendous understanding of how the mind works. And with that in mind, they used rituals to enable themselves emotionally, to handle the challenges of the life they were living

I aspire to get to the point of some of the commenters on this video. I've had some progress by meditating with zikr and I find it very fulfilling. As meditators say, when your mind wanders, it's okay, just bring it back and don't beat yourself up. My salah is getting easier also. But this is the best explanation of the result of salah on our lives and the idea of structure as you explained it is wonderful. I visualize it as a grid superimposed on my day. Thank you. Thank you.

Excellent mufti. Good explanation.. salah is really a manifestation of good in this life of us from God. Nobody do evils by saying in the name of God.. so remembering God gives only good and manifests only good within us.. it is spiritual benefit. It cleanses hearts from evil insinuations and evil rusts. The greater remembrance of God in islam is salah truly. Experiencing salah is the matter. Words can't explain this.. thankfulness to God too increase without our recognization. Indeed it is manifestation of God..

The ‘main’ purpose of prayer is to humble oneself. For example in sajda it is the only time the heart is above the head. Worship is NOT just prayer. It is part of our gratitude for being given the opportunity to experience this life and make the most of it, to learn and remember. Mufti continuing to ruffle feathers haha. The other confusion is the fact this all makes the prayer seem somewhat more oriental, almost Dharmic and we can’t be having that can we? We are from the Abrahamic lineage right? Hah, all of the above are forms of divine light but altered and perverted, one day we will see this. Let’s hope it’s soon InshaAllah.

If allah COMMANDS to perform salah and give zakat 73:20 in the quran, doesnt that mean that if we disobey his command then we are disobeying him? And therefore there is punishment for not obeying him!!!Or is this not the case, is the quran just a story book and telling us stories ? Allah tells us how the previous nations got destroyed because they did not obey!!! So who are we to say that we are protected from punishment? It is true that allah is not in need of our actions but we are in need of his pleasure and jannah is not cheap so saying praying is not important us ridiculous. @Mufti The Quran actually mentions "takwa" that pleases Allah swt. Are you translating "takwa" as devotion? Also, does Salah really mean ritual prayer? Does Musalli really mean "one who prays"? Mufti you know Arabic well. Please, delve into the the 3 letter root and etymology of the word "salah". Could it mean "to follow closely"? Did "salah" actually ever mean ritual prayer prior to Islam? Or did some semi-Zoroastrian Imams insert this meaning into the word some 200 years after the Prophet pbuh? Do delve a little bit into how Zoroastrians prayed for over a thousand years before Islam? How many times a day and what times do they pray? Do they do something like ablution? I await your kind response.

I am not sure exactly what benefit anybody can get to have to wake up twice during the night to pray when they are breaking their sleep cycle which is not natural and which is bad for your brain. Praying when awake is fine...being forced by peer pressure, family etc to wake up in the middle of the night is bad. You should not have to pray at certain times as it is pure OC Behavior reinforcement. People should pray when they want and when it makes the most sense and helps them the most. That s what I do and if God can not accept and understand that then he does not deserve my worship.
