Regarding these gaps which we fill in with miraculous stories, I believe they are often times Israeiliyat. Dr. Shabir Ally said the stories we borrow from the Jews and Christians are called Israeiliyat.

That often is the case that the 'ellipses-completion-narrative' is often though not always from the Judeo-christian sources aka the 'Israeliyaat'. What many people miss is the wondrous nature of the Quran that captures the hearts of many yet in different ways with different meanings from the same verses 🙌🏻❤

I'm very agnostic towards miraculous story mentioned in Quran and I think goes with your understanding about filling in blanks of those events mentioned in Quran it also goes hand in hand with you're understanding about " superposition " in Quran .

They are called miracles for a reason because it is something that goes against what is natural Like, how is a baby made? It is after a man and a woman have sex This is a law! And you will find no one except that he is born as a result of sex Except one person, which Prophet Jesus (peace be upon him), his birth is not normal and this is a miracle and you are supposed to believe in it. If you cant believe these miracles that are mentioned in the QURAN, then how do you believe in the hereafter? All of these are from the unseen! Believe in them

@@zakyzayn5361 Oh! I thought you were muslim. But in Islam, we (Muslims) should believe in every single verse of the Quran. Because no doubt, EVERY SINGLE verse of the Quran is from Allah. And denying even one vowel takes you out of Islam. And when you want to learn something, you learn it from trustworthy people. Like for example; When you want to know about a girl you want to marry, you go to someone who knows her is trustworthy. You wouldnt go to someone who is her enemy (because he will lie about her) and knows nothing about her. And learning about Islam is more important than learning about the girl you are about to get married to. You should learn Islam from trustworthy students of knowledge (A student of knowledge is a Muslim who i between being a layman and a scholar. A student of knowledge knows alot. For ex. Shaykh Uthman Farooq) Dont learn Islam from those who dont know it like its enemies and also those who are liars or else you will learn false things about Islam. Abu layth doesnt know Islam and is maybe not even a muslim because he denies clear verses of the Quran. We (Muslims) believe that Allah (the Creator) is capable of doing everything. And He is able to ressurect the dead and is also able to give His Messengers miracles. Like the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), he split the moon by the permission of Allah. This is not a metaphorical incident It mentioned in the Quran, and in countless authentic hadiths And it is mentioned by some non-Muslims. I dont know who has the guts to reject it. If Allah can create the heavens and the earth, then of course He can give His Messengers miracles. And miracles are supposed to be shocking. Because it goes against what is natural. And Allah gives His Messengers miracles so that they maybe believed

Mufti you say there isn't really much of a disagreement here, some ppl believe that these things JUST happened and others also believe they happened but with an underlying mechanism. But I think the latter approach can lead to a very different reading of the text itself. As an example , you yourself, in the story of Queen of Sheeba interpret the birds in general and hud hud in particular as some intelligence agents/army or whatever because you cannot accept that birds can have such high cognitive abilities. So, I think the latter approach can sometimes diverge a lot from the "JUST HAPPENED" Approach but ofcourse the central message of the book is unaltered

Adopting a means is rational for a miracle however the relevance is Allahs intervention in the mechanics of Allahs universe. The intervention is special and it functions as an acceptable authentication for prophets. It can be a miracle and within existing means eg showing a person the way out of prison the day before they get burned.

Actually the Quran mentions the fire: قُلْنَا يَـٰنَارُ كُونِى بَرْدًا وَسَلَـٰمًا عَلَىٰٓ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ But We said, ‘Fire, be cool and safe for Abraham.’ (Quran 21:69)

yes as replied in comments below, it doesnt say he was thrown in. Some have taken this to complete the dots and suggest he was thrown in, others have said this cooling was whilst he was tied infront of the fire and whilst it was being prepared. point proven again, this is a fruitless discussion. everyone is welcome to read the Quran and take a meaning that helps them. you're welcome to yours as are others. Its a beautiful revelation and shouldnt be used to fight amongst people. much love ❤

Please Mufti try to get in touch with Dr. Hany Archan of Marvelous Quran. I strongly believe you guys will bring a huge revelations in our Deen. The problem we have with regards the previous interpretation of the Quran is the acceptance of the corrupted version of the Christian and Jewish stories instead of properly interpreting the Quran according to it true rational stories according to the Quran itself. If there are no supernatural miracles then what is the objective proof of messengers? You can believe anything and then there is no such thing as truth! This then opens up the door to using the mind to uncover morality and if you think this is possible then what is the need for God?

But the matter would already have been decided by then: all matters are brought back to God." 2:210 "Are they waiting for the very angels to come to them, or your Lord Himself, or maybe some of His signs? But on the Day some of your Lord’s signs come, no soul will profit from faith if it had none before, or has not already earned some good through its faith. Say, ‘Wait if you wish: we too are waiting.’" 6:158 God shows many signs, and the greatest sign to this Ummah is the Qur'an. However he only shows soft evidences that will make any sincere and rational person believe. However as God says in 2:210, if God had come through the shadows of the clouds with the angels, the matter would have been settled, i.e. life is no longer a test of your reason-based faith.

@@sniazi6753 That is not a mufti, maybe even not a Muslim for he denies the clear texts of the Quran that says Ibrahim was thrown in the fire. Please dont follow him for the sake of Allah. If you want to learn about the religion of Allah, learn the truth about it! And listen to trustworthy scholars like Ibn Baz, Al-Albani and so on. This knowledge is your religion! Make sure you dont play with your religion by listening to what anybody says. All hadiths from bukhari are authentic And the hadiths are preserved. And all the scholars agreed that there 5 conditions of an authentic hadith and scholars reject weak hadiths. Which shows how hadiths were preserved!

Quran is not fill in the blanks what ever it says has hadees to support that verses. One of the greatest miracle of quran is that we can at present witness the prophecy of the quran with the happening incidents of the world.
