I had the same result with Garnier, too. I found out they're owned by Maybelline and I'm allergic to their makeup, so I always figured that was why, but now that I'm seeing so many people say they had the same result I think it's just a garbage product.

Garnier pink micellar water did not dry me out badly and I thought it was ok, until I tried out Bioderma pink micellar water and I realized just how much Garnier pink micellar water was drying me out in comparison.

On the ingredient list it contains Alcohol Denat, which is known to be drying in certain formulations. I was not attracted to Garneir’s micellar water partly because of this.

The garnier waterproof Micellar water in the blue bottle always worked way better on my skin for some reason and seemed more gentle but was better at removing makeup. Doesn’t sting my eyes or skin at all even when wearing contact lenses. The Bioderma one is great but I just couldn’t justify the price for something like that that I go through pretty quickly.

I may try this one...I don't wear mascara often but I have extra rows of lashes (it's not cute, they poke in all directions but mostly grow straight so I just get a bit more eyelid Def but they shrink my small eyes). I have to use liner at this age to get any true eye definition, and it gets trapped in the lashes, even harder to remove than mascara. I have a wonderful liner collection tho, and maybe Garnier will break it down.

@Robert you have to try the Simple Micellar water if you can find it in that UK. The one in the blue bottle (Hydro boost) is better than the original green bottle but they are both amazing. I recommend it to everyone, I won’t touch another brand for micellar water or face cleanser. It won’t sting your eyes at all, doesn’t make the skin tight, your skin just feels soft and clean. It’s so unbelievably underrated, I hear no one ever talking about it. Incredible for sensitive skin. Garnier is kind of garbage in my opinion, just not gentle on the skin and doesn’t work well. **the blue bottle is hydro boost. It’s gentle and incredible. The clear face wash is all I will use for a gel cleanser. Must buy!

@Dineen Serpa not the person you asked, but I also switched over from disposable to washable some time back. They were Judy purchased off of Amazon, nothing special. I picked bamboo over standard cotton as it's more sustainable and I looked at heavily at the reviews for how long the rounds held up through uses and washing etc. I also looked at the laundry instructions, as I wanted the easiest care possible. It didn't take me very long to find what I was looking for and I bought 2 sets of 20 rounds. If they get stained and that bothers you, try some Oxiclean. Took my stains out except on the threading on the edges. I wash and dry my rounds in a small delicates bag to keep them contained.

@@theroyalbugness I always just hand wash them in the sink right after using and then let them air dry in mesh bag that hangs from a rack in my bathroom. I have been wondering why my skin was so crazy dry and flaky lately... I thought it was either my NYX concealer or the Garnier water, and even though it didn't burn and I usually wash it away with regular water I had the feeling it was something alcohol-related. I still need to do some testing but by what I'm reading it might very well be the micellar water... Also because I was getting flaky on the cheeks too and that's not a place where I usually use concealer. Definitely going to buy another one.

Exactly the same, Robert, exactly the same with me! I dislike Garnier because it not only stung my skin, but also caused tiny painful comedones (breakouts) all over my face. However, the Bioderma Sensibio Micellar Water (green cap instead of pink) is something I do use for my lips and eyes at times and it's real good! Clinique's Take the Day off Cleansing Balm is my go-to though, totally melts my makeup inside out. Recently tried the Green Clean Cleansing Balm from Farmacy, and it's so very good too! But way more expensive than Clinique which is already so pricey.

I use this to take makeup off with a reusable cotton round and that usually removes all of my makeup because reusable cotton rounds have a larger surface area. Then I go in with a second reusable cotton round to cleanse my skin sort of like a double cleanse and all of the gunk on my face is gone. Doing this doesn’t break me out. RINSE OFF THE MICELLAR WATER. OMG this changed the game for me when I started rinsing the micellar water off my face, because they’re always marketed saying “don’t need to rinse off.”

I actually don’t like micellar water but it might be because I’ve only used Garnier’s. I don’t like the oil film, guess it wasn’t supposed to be a “used alone” product. And that I have to use more product to get a cleaner face.

Okay, but can y'all convince my husband that micellar water is more than just water with a little soap in it?? I've gotten in so many arguments with him about it. 😢

Ever since I bought Bioderma I never bought the Garnier ever again (plus I had acne when I tried out the garnier and it would irritate my acne)😭

See, I've loved the Garnier and had a terrible time when I tried the Burt's Bees. That stuff makes my skin angry! lol

I'm not kidding people would look at me like I was a criminal if I mentioned how the Garnier one dried out my skin and stung my eyes. Everyone raves about it, but it literally manages to make my combo skin type look like dry sand

I am in love with the riceberry face wash by LittlExtra! It's mild but works well at cleansing dirt and impurities from my skin. Its black rice ingredient cleans my skin without being too harsh, keeping my skin feeling soft, glowing, and smooth. No acne, pimples, or extra oil can be found on my face after washing with this face wash. Additionally, I like the fact that it's made with ingredients from nature and is free from harsh chemicals. It has a mild natural smell and doesn't dries out my skin. I highly recommend this face cleanser to those in search of a good and safe facewash.

Riceberry face wash lessened my dark spots and blemishes, controlled extra oil formed on my skin. I checked and found that it has properties for healing and boosts circulation in the facial skin, so this is why I see a decrease in my acne.

The face wash is very effective and beneficial for all skin types. It provides smooth skin after every wash. It provides instant relief and radiance to the skin. The riceberry face wash is effective, and using 2 times a day provides excellent results, based on my experience. It is soap-free and assists lock in moisture. Essential on your wash basin.

I actually started with bioderma and it stung my eyes, and was a bit harsh on my skin. La Rochay Posay has a micellar water that's much better.

i bought the bio one just because everyone was talking about it and i have used garnier Rose micellar water and it worked wonder for me; bio on the other hand made me very dry after using it while garnier rose water makes my dry skin very glowing! im not going to use bioderma anymore.

I also noticed that using micellar water before applying a prescription like epiduo (benzoyl peroxide+ Adapalene) isn't a good Idea. I don't know if it's because removing makeup with it is a bit more drying & irritating than oilcleansers or if it's due to some of the surfactants remaining on the skin & makeing some sort of a reaction. I tried cutting on some time while traveling & it was a huuugeee mistake 😅

IDK if it's the same recommendation, but my Cleo-T actually recommends to apply to face when slightly dampened from a toner 🤷‍♀️
