Been loving watching these runs NL!! Amazing to watch you learn from feedback and mistakes, you're crushing it. Furthermore, as a 1500+ hour player of this game, I ALSO like Blizzard in spite of what people say. One little thing I've noticed: when you're offered multiple card rewards at once (like w the 3 colourless cards in this run), make sure to look at all of them before you start picking. You might be offered the same card multiple times, but it's more favourable to pick it in one set than another. Keep it up king

Winged boots gives you the ability to more carefully optimize your path through the floors, which, understandably, you struggle with (I do too, don't worry), but is absolutely one of the most vital paths to victory in the game. Balancing when you're getting to see cards, relics, upgrade them, and knowing when you might be getting something better or worse can absolutely shape a run, especially on the early floors. Each combat is, essentially, the way you add a card to your deck, not to mention money and other resources, and the more cards you're seeing, the more you're able to refine your deck and make it into something better. Its the same kind of opportunity cost as with curses and relics. Sure, you can pick up the relic, and get a curse, maybe remove it right away, but 2-3 of those in a run, that's 2-3 strikes you could have removed from your deck instead, which likely would have made your build more consistent and powerful. As fun as it is to yolo for events, once I stopped charging headfirst into them I started winning a LOT more runs. Keep up the killer retro content my man, feels so good watching StS like its... oh god, 2017 again? Sweet jesus I'm OOOOOOOOOOOOLD

Massive NL fan. Massive StS fan but missed the original run. Feel like I fell out of a coconut tree and I love it. Super solid runs overall. Blizzard is definitely underrated. Only feedback is I think he should be much more averse to curses, especially if lacking card draw. Totally fine at these ascension levels, but if he didn't happen on the fission and the coolheaded he would have had a lot of trouble getting to the win con (in this case a single card echo form). Please keep these coming NL is the absolute governor.

Hey pro tip for the collector on act 2, (the green fire guy), don’t stress yourself too much about it but try not to focus both of his minions because when he summons he will always keep a maximum of 2 goons no matter what. This means that you can spend more resources attacking the big feller :) It’s still good to kill at least one of them because then he’ll spend a turn re-summoning them that you can use to your advantage. Hope this helps!

Hey NL, just watched through the vid so I'll just leave my thoughts here: - Personally, I would have taken Rainbow when it was first offered. Super good orb generator that gets even better with the upgrade and works nicely with Compile Driver, which is an excellent draw card. - Unfortunate that you didn't get anything to enable Thunder Strike in Act I, I agree with the tranform on Astrolabe. - The consensus on Blizzard being weak is something I don't entirely agree with, I think it has a place in decks with lots of draw and orb generation, but not a lot of focus or orb slots. - I would have taken the elite fights you avoided with Winged Boots in Act 3. Personally, I would need a REALLY good excuse to skip an elite, something like being on sub 20 HP or not finding a strong enough attack in Act 1. As for the relic itself, I just regard it is as an excuse to take riskier paths. Loving this vids by the way, keep 'em rolling out sire.

I think the fission take may have been swayed by the collector fight where you had capacity potion online! Its pretty easy to find artifact for a biased cog, especially with courier. Fission can kind of boil down to a wasted upgrade which can get harder to justify at higher ascensions (though of course it’s still strong) (biased cog is just better, especially for fights that strength scale or you need tempo for, it saves a lot of hp on hallway fights)

Ohhhhhh MAN seeing you take the hp over the regret first question mark had me pogging at the improvement. The biggest hinderance I see to your gameplay is overuse of potions, you could have saved 2 potions in the 2 floors between the collector and 3 slimes, potions can have some insane value especially scaling into ascensions, as well as taking too many extra dupes (absolutely no need for 3 cold snaps and 2 rebounds)

Hello Ryan, if you're looking to do better on the defect you, you should try to hoard as many artifact sources as possible, as the character has plenty of buff/debuff sources from cards and relics, and artifact will just turn them into powerful buffs with no tradeoffs. The mutagen relic is an example where artifact would've helped make the run plenty easier.

The only card enabled by a frost focused deck is blizzard. Blizzard is generally a poor card. So, frost focus has no scaling mechanic. Ergo frost focused is not a build, but a happy coincidence.
