I follow a few lightsaber channels. I prefer licensed sabers. I would be $150-$200 depending on accessories, condition, and box. That specific saber I'd be at $175.00.

I think your offer of a hundred in trade was WAY more than fair. People have to realize that the toy market fluctuates just like any antique or collectible. I know it’s hard to sell something for less than what you paid for it. We’ve all been there, all done it. Sellers need to realize this and not walk into a store with high expectations, unless of course you have an item that’s super rare or old that’s worth buco bucks

Neopixel is just the blade. It just means that there are LEDs going up the length of the blade. These are all 3rd party and are made relatively the same. Cost is generally between 200-250. The price is really determined by the the board in the hilt. Custom sabers can go from 5-$800 depending on what electronics are used. $100 is an ok aftermarket purchase price for you for this particular saber.

What do you do with all the figures that you deem not case worthy? I'd imagine you're going to have collectors and customers that don't care to spend a pretty penny for the mintiest figure but will be fine with some flaws at a cheaper price. I see vintage star wars bought all the time for people to customize/re-paint so I feel if at some point you have too many of X because can't get it's accessory or it's flawed maybe sell for those types of collectors?

These days, the 3rd party sabers blow the licensed ones away, especially those with neopixel and proffie cores. The Disney parks, and Hasbro ones are trash compared to neopixel and proffie loaded sabers.

It's amazing how important licenses are to collectors. I mean seriously? Who cares. If it's cool it's cool no matter who makes it. Also that lightsaber wasn't even accurate to the ROTJ which it is based on. It's a cheap knockoff but he is correct that the blade is about a 100 bucks. The saber itself is probably 80 bucks max.

I doubt that guy got a proffie or other expensive neopixel saber board. The blade is more expensive than the saber. He probably brought it for 180 bucks max so resale on that saber is gonna be low especially since the saber is not even accurate.
