Dried marrowfat peas are a very light green, or they used to be. Maybe times change. Soak them overnight in water with bicarbonate of soda. If I remember correctly, some off the shelf packs come with a tablet of Bicarbonate all ready to prepare them. Drain, wash and cook with a bit salt. When cooking them, you can add a pre-boiled ham hock and some of the juices from the cooking. Now that’s a meal. These days, I’ll wager that kind of food is pretty much extinct.

When they said "small cod", I think they meant "fish finger". Sorry Greeno but that is nothing more than a child's portion and for £10? WOW, not good. My local place does a cod and chips child's meal which is similar in size for £7 but no peas, and that is in infamous London. Please do not ask me about Wimpy 😝, it is my absolute favourite for very childhood emotional reasons. When I am in London and not Dublin, I have 3 of them within easy reach and I make sure I go to one at least once a week. Nothing beats Wimpy. Sadly there are only 59 left in the whole of England.

I do like a chip shop curry sauce, especially the one that normally gets classed as an Irish one, bit darker, bit more intense.

if you come to south east kent its £12 for fish and chips without mushy peas so think yourseif lucky to pay what you did

It’s about the same for regular fish and chips here, but this is advertised as small fish and chips. I just think that what used to be the cheaper option as a takeaway is now becoming prohibitively expensive. Thanks for watching 😀

Standard price tbh

Yeah, I guess that's the problem though - a chippy tea used to be the cheaper takeaway to have if you couldn't stretch to an Indian or a Chinese, now it's not that much different in price!

Ripped off there. £10 for that? Crazy

Having paid double that at Rick Stein's gaff this week I'm not so sure ha ha!

Bringing your own condiments, that’s cheating. 🧇🕶️☕️ ✌🏻👱🏻♂️✌🏻

Ha ha, I always pick up whatever unused sauce sachets we get, great for camping trips or just a visit to the chippy. Why pay 40p for a sauce pot when McD / BK /KFC have given me it for free 🤣
@earlbee31969 ай бұрын
@@GreenoEats yes, indeed, I get it now! Might start doing the same.
