@@NASPELTZ You can certainly snag a fish with topwater lures in shallow water. It's happened to me with one of the biggest bass I've ever reeled in. Obviously, you're not set up with a "flossing" rig, but you can definitely still snag a fish with that lure.

Just a tip, don’t keep your rod tip down the entire time. It puts a lot of strain on the fish, and it also can get the fish caught in the weeds. And it makes the chance of losing the fish way higher. Keep it up so you don’t lose it

Bro the same thing happened to me yesterday.unfortunately it spit the hook out of its mouth and the hook went into my dad foot and it went the parp.But we went fishing with my dad‘s friends, so we ran over to one of his friends grandparents house and borrowed some pliers to get the hook out. And if you were wondering if we got a picture of the fish we didn’t, because as soon as it spit the hook out, it flopped right back into the water to try to save it from flopping into the water but it was too late. my dad says it was a 40 inch pike or more. A lot of non lure fisherman dont really grasp natural eating patterns of fish. They assume cause they catch them on a chunk of squid or fillet that they cant eat whole fish. Ive seen predatory fish eat lures 1/2 their size in the shallows as you reel in.
