Well there is pretty much never a moment during the day when I am not actively doing something, to be honest! But my wife Kimmy takes great care of our daughter during the day so I can get work done. Sometimes they'll even go to the park or on a playdate so I can concentrate - because sometimes it's hard to work on something when a 14 month old comes knocking at your closed door lol! before I know it, I'm building a block tower with her on the rug in addition to that, I've just been feeling really good about everything I've been doing on YT so far in 2024, and that mentality helps a lot with work ethic. It's taken a long time to figure out a routine that works, but I think my current content split is doing the trick for me

Honestly, the feel and environments of Crow Country are an aesthetic I can get behind with how much the latter is used to its' full advantage by itself from the various LPs I've watched of the game. The bits of whimsical charm in between the horror bits fit in with the retro mood Crow Country has got going for it.

John is the only guy who plays horror games and gives his honest unfiltered no sugarcoating review. After ending every game, horror devs should listen him tbh
@arshellnut27303 ай бұрын
This isn't a spoiler, because I don't know the ending, but I'm calling it now on the first episode of the playthrough: Mara is some kind of animatronic or puppet or android with a child's mind and has false memories (the game even starts with Mara stating her name and saying "don't forget). The ID from the start is fake/not hers. She has doll-like joints when other shown people don't (Arthur's elbows are bare and aren't segmented like Mara's). Julie is much taller than Mara when Mara is supposed to be an adult. Mara doesn't like coffee, isn't allowed to smoke, and found adult magazines gross (adult things). She likes soda, and points out that a dentist told her to stop drinking it (child-like). She already knew about the cell unlock mechanism - even if it was poorly hidden. Also there's obviously some plot about conducting experiments on people. In the crypt, Ophelia has a gravestone that is not part of the puzzle, does not have a death date, and is weirdly pointed out as HUMAN. So, "Mara Forest" is actually Ophelia Crow, Natalie's sister, and Edward's daughter, who probably died in a fire (the fiery save points that stir emotion) and Edward did something to resurrect her.

I can see what the hype is about! This game's really cool so far, the enemy sounds and creepy set-ups to revealing suddenly they're in a room is great (the first encounter, and after the witch wood is done) and the designs are VERY creepy. The abandoned theme park setting also adds to the eeriness and is fun, it being a place for kids and the puzzles being how they progress through the park too is a cute explanation for the RE style puzzles lol. Love seeing John getting into this game, the intro was very silly and I love seeing him get into games he's enjoying and figuring things out, it adds to the fun!

this is so good, the game is doing 2 things at least that i really wish more games do, make locations/rooms with more meaning, these are packed full of stuff, puzzles, etc it feels like they put special attention to every room, even if you sacrifice making it shorter. I hate that games are going more and more in the oposite direction nowadays, bigger bigger, filled with repetitive meaningless assets, copy and pasted. And the second thing is related to the first thing, when they stylize the graphics, the assets feel more unique, im tired of seeing the same generic rocks, pipes, forest, grass from the same unreal engine pack in all of the new games, and since they are want realism, they all end up looking more or less the same

THEORY BASED ON SPOILER STUFF FROM THE VID Mara has got to be Elaine, right? She mentioned getting hurt by one the same way Arthur did and knew the same symptoms Elaine described in that document, it kind of looks like her, she knew how to get into the cell already, and she's very insistent on talking to Edward Crow. The ID card says she's a 25 year old cop and I don't think it's been long enough since the park shut down for her to have gone from 15 to 25, so if it IS her ig it's a fake cop ID? (Is it having the same number as the other cop ID supposed to hint that, maybe she know him so she was able to forge a convincing ID from his?) It would explain a lot about the things she says about soda and coffee and stuff, and why a cop is going into this place dressed like that - she's a teenage kid trying to pass herself off as a cop with a badge she can flash at them in case someone asks why she's there. It also explains the weird way she was talking about her name in the intro, she's trying to commit her cover story to memory.
