Really would recommend trying to get some more tapes, I respected the creepiness a lot more once the lore made sense. Amanda's obsession with rotting, why she hates Wooly, and just how dang sad the story is, it tugs at your heart if you are a parent. Very enjoyable little game that doesn't have too much grindy-ness to get the lore tapes. Thanks for sharing the fun!

Saw some people saying no or they're not sure if this series is mascot horror. I think it counts because Amanda is a mascot in her universe. In the Amanda universe her show is a brand and she is the face of that brand. She herself is a mascot for her show.

If you're going to play the second one, make sure to go back and get the rest of the tapes (or watch a playthrough), as it unlocks the true ending and the second game starts directly after it. The tapes you missed give more about the lore than the ones you got 😭 Amanda's "I'm out there, somewhere" is really sad :(

I was honestly not expecting much from Amanda the Adventurer, so I also slept on it for a while, but when I heard about a sequel being made and how well-received it was, I had to see for myself. Even though it's mascot horror, it's not *entirely* unoriginal, and the story driving it was compelling enough to make me tune in to the sequel. Now I can't wait for what's next. I hope you enjoyed your play of it.

There's a few tapes you haven't seen yet John! The lore in the game is a bigger payoff, and it explains your critiques at the end. You've only seen the surface of Amanda but her story is very sad and I really recommend checking out the rest! It's really a great game series!

Hameln is based off of the very real village of Hamelin in Germany, where the story of the Pied Piper takes place. That's why the logo is a rat. Can you guess the symbolism? Then, of course, there's the "vocal warmup" she does that's based on the names of demons, although "pie man" is a bit skewed from Paimon.

I really enjoy the game. Thought it was very charming with some solid puzzles and good creepy vibes. I do think it's a bit too short, feeling like it gets going just as it ends. I am looking forward to playing the sequel though, so there's that at least

Im really enjoying your one-offs, John! Thanks for this vid. Its so cozy to just relax and watch you solve these puzzles and hear your remarks and thoughts on the game. I saw some people saying to get all the lore and talking about hidden things, but this vibe was so nice without the grind of sleuthing thru all the little things/"secrets". At least for me. Felt like watching a friend play the game i knew and if we wanted to learn more we could look it up after haha really fun watch to see ur experience. Thank you!

Glad you played this, John! :) I thought I already remembered you playing this, but apparently there was a demo so maybe I was as remembering that. I really really like the puzzle gameplay and the combination of solving puzzles in "real life" using the show (apart from the weather one, which forced too much repetition and made it annoying), and making it a Dora the Explorer type show with the "host" doing that "interact with the kids/viewers" thing was fun! That video with the little girl vanishing and Amanda mentioning something that had just happened was very eerie (so was the second "accidents" tape with the player forced to be complicit in hurting Wooly and her getting dismissive and telling the viewer to go, she could do it herself). The weakest part, apart from the weather puzzle, was probably Amanda floating and acting all possessed, it was a little too much lol. I loved hearing John drawing on his experience as a dad to a small kid playing this, it made it super funny to hear him having flashbacks from some of it 😂

You played as a, like, 30's to 50's style detective guy and tge game was all contrasting black and white except when the monster was nearby, I think? Man, wish I could remember it.
