As someone who does cosplay work, the process for painting minis and props is VERY similar. Pretty much just don't need to do lighting painting. I also support grime for props as it really brings them to a whole new level. Personally I actually use old pastels to add grime to my props. It's like actually rubbing dirt on them xD

Not exactly a challenge, probably easier to do than this horror show. Many of its components can be individually printed with little use of annoying support structures including the palm and wrist. Just cut the wrist portion in half and glue it together afterwards. Work smarter, not harder.

This is a great video. I love the paint job on the final, it is great to see mini techniques applied to a larger project. The biggest shock of this video though, is that you can get a high res (6k) resin 3d printer for $599. it says limited time to Nov 15, but they're still available at that price, and they actually have a smaller model available for $269 (4k), and also a 4k printer of that size for $429. That's amazing! I looked at resin printers a couple of years ago and thought I'd never be able to get one as they were $3k+ for an entry level model. To have that quality of printing available at a $600 price point is incredible.

my process for cleaning up 3d prints to remove 100% of layer lines: sand with 80 grit on palm sander, this will melt some of the layer lines together and remove imperfections if there are any, don't hold the palm sander in one spot for too long otherwise you will melt it too much. after that go over with a higher grit to remove the roughness left from the 80 grit. after that spray filler primer, sand down and then spray again and sand again until you have no more layer lines
